Chicken wing pizza, garlic knot, rice bal
    Emily V.

Stopped in for some lunch today and everything was excellent! We got a chicken wing slice, an upside down slice, a garlic knot, and a rice ball (my favorite part) with meat, cheese and peas. The service was excellent and they were super friendly! It's set up like a typical pizza shop with some booths to sit in, but it's clean and was decorated nicely for the holidays! The location in downtown Utica is super convenient and it's a great spot to stop in for a casual lunch. In my opinion, it's the best chicken wing pizza I've had around here. I'll definitely be back!

Delicious -- and big -- slices at Nina's

Great slice in the heart of Utica. Great balance of sauce, cheese, and toppings. Crust is delicious on its own. (Try the upside down pie or slice.) Fast service. Casual dining area. Nice people behind the counter... Exactly what you want in a local pizza joint.

Prices are ridiculous. Their "large pizza" is the same size as a Little Caesar's $6 Hot N' Ready pizza. We had to pay extra for the toppings and to split the toppings, I've never had to before. We ended up paying over $50 for a "large" pizza, 20 wings and a 2 liter of soda...if their pizza was bigger we wouldn't care, but for the size of the pizza their food isn't worth the price. It wasn't bad food, just bad pricing!

Slice and a drink was like $7 not bad. Pizza was pretty solid, one of the better I've tried in the area. I will be back!

I stopped for pizza for a change iykyk. I really liked the vibe in this place. It had an old school pizza place look. I was greeted right away which is good. They have a good 2 slice and drink special. The slices are huge and definitely could feed 2 people. Sauce and cheese were good. The slices were a bit on the thicker side but no big flop. Worth a try if you are in town.

We ordered 3 dinners and two pies, so we had a few slices left over.

First time trying upside down pizza. Two guys that were leaving said you absolutely have to try it. It's the best. Such a unique flavor profile with the crispy mozzarella cheese underneath and the cool delicious pasta sauce on top. We also got a couple chicken, Parm dinners and a sausage and cheese pizza. It was a random chance we stopped here looking for something to eat during the snowstorm coming back northern New York. If you're in the area, take the time it's worth a trip.

    Riggies

I should of just gone with my gut and eaten at home. My first time here and I ordered the riggies... aside from it not tasting good, they forgot the meatballs, and the veggies are so big and undercooked. The dish is a disaster. I'm going to give yelp a break for a bit because you guys are letting me down. I'm throwing this is the trash and making a tuna sandwich. ‍

I'm going to start with the thing I really don't like: the online menu needs better descriptions and preferably photos. I want to know what's on the pizza I'm ordering! Other than that, everything was great. Easy to order online (although we just guessed what we wanted because again--no descriptions!) and the order was delivered in under an hour, which seems pretty fast for a Saturday night. We got a chicken bacon ranch and a jalapeño bacon.....something.....and both were reeeeeaaalllly tasty. But the best thing--spicy cheese curds! Oh my gosh, so good. I might order more tomorrow :D I'm not a local so I don't know how the prices compare to other places in the area, but I feel like we got quite large portions for our money. If I ever find myself in Utica again, I'm definitely going to stop in again, at least for curds!

Super great spot for Pizza! I love the ambiance here, you can tell it's a well-oiled operation that's loved by many. Having never been to Utica for pizza, I'm very glad to have stopped in here! I was super surprised by the size of the slices available, as well as the variety. The taste?! Unmatched. I haven't had pizza this good in a long time. Service was friendly and efficient. Very excited about the prospect of coming back here!

A medium half cheese, half anchovies, mushroom, cherry pepper, jalapeño.

The pizza (half cheese, half anchovies, mushrooms, jalapeños, cherry peppers) and wings (hot with blue cheese) I had delivered this evening were delicious. The food arrived on time and was hot. This was my first time ordering from here and I will definitely do so again.

Crispy and chewy all at once. The best slices in Utica!!! The calzones are enormous. It's hard for 2 people to finish one.

It was loud, cramped, and a bit dark inside, which reminded me of a bar setting even though it wasn't at all set up like one. It was also cold, because every time the front door opened a cold breeze blew in. We ordered 30 bone-in wings and two drinks and it was over $50. I guess that is how it goes. The wings varied in size from normal to huge. No tiny wings in the bunch, and they were a good mix of flats and drumsticks. We got Buffalo, Barbecue, and Hawaiian flavors. I never got to try the Buffalo but the other two flavors were good. However, they were smothered in sticky sauce which got cloying after awhile and completely rendered your fingers disgusting. A roll of paper towels at the counter helped, though I had to go back after every couple of wings for more. The Hawaiian had a strong ginger flavor which was different and enjoyable. However, in sum I think they need to use less sauce in the future. Drinks were via the all-in-one soda machine that seems to have a million flavors on tap. It is right by the door and the area was crowded, so getting to the machine wasn't easy. It was fun to go out for wings, though it wasn't cheap. I rarely eat wings anymore so I can't say if the prices were fair or not, but they were good wings.

Ewwww! Poor service…read more- I walked in to an empty store with several workers in the kitchen. I stood looking at them occasionally glancing my way while they busily prepared orders. Despite my standing under the PLACE ORDER HERE sign for greater than 6 minutes no one ever acknowledged my presence. I suppose one of the workers felt me staring a hole in his back so he turned around and our eyes met. I gestured to the cash register and the sign with a questioning expression. His sassy response was "Just a minute ma'am. There's only one person that works the register" Questionable food handling - as I waited for my order I watched EVERY SINGLE WORKER touch the order screen then handle the food with their bare hands. I even witnessed an incident where Mr. Only Cashier picked up a packed order bag, opened it, took out 2 orders of fries covered them with his whole bare hand and transferred them to a different order bag. He then sealed the 1st order back up, put on the shelf where it was, and got back to it. Two important takeaways: there is a sign posted about how serious they take hand washing Mr. Only Cashier did get some hand foam on a dispenser before he took my order. But he didn't get any on the return trip to the kitchen. 10/10 would not recommend!

He mentioned it is the second oldest pizzeria in America, so I had to check it out. I'm so glad I did. This is a really cute, community-oriented spot with a warm and welcoming feel. I ordered a small pizza, but "small" definitely does not feel small here. It was actually a great size. More importantly, the pizza was super fresh and extremely delicious. What stood out just as much as the food was how kind everyone was. As someone visiting from out of town, I really appreciated how warm and friendly the people were. It also felt like the kind of place that would be great for hosting a casual party or gathering. Highly recommend. If you're in Utica, this is definitely a place you need to try.

I have been coming to this establishment for far too many years to admit to and it never disappoints. Not much has changed here over the years other than the prices. They have been around for over a 110 years. The restaurant is nothing fancy and most of their business is take out but to me nothing beats one of their fresh out of the oven pies with their gooey cheese on the bottom and crispy crust. On a warm summer night you can find me sitting outside at their picnic table enjoying a fresh hot pie.
