Best beer, food, and company in Cincinnati hands down! Nine giant is located in the center of pleasant ridge and is frequented by locals and visitors alike. As it happens it's our local go to spot for brews and food. Nine giant is a small brewery that covers a variety of styles and types of beers. They have 9 rotating taps so there will defiantly be something to satisfy your brew needs. You can't have beer with no foods and nine giant delivers on that as well. The made from scratch kitchen sources local when they can and my friends they are out to impress from presentation to tastiness. They always serve up some upscaled bar standbys such as burgers and fries but the menu also includes seasonal favorites and specials. For example today we dined on the most delectable shrimp and grits. I was confused when I looked outside and Realized I'm still in Ohio. I thought for a minute I had been transferred to the bayou. Following that we split a California style burrito topped with homemade cheese sauce. Let's just say we joined the clean plate club in record time. Also on the weekend nine giant hosts a small doughnut collection supplied by Starlight doughnuts a startup by one of nine giants staff. The doughnuts fit the dessert bill and are also on point. Overall assessment A+ on booze and foods. The tap room itself is pretty cozy and can be crowded as they are a great place to eat and visit! That being said it can get to be pretty loud, the tap room echoes. But if you like to eat good food and drink the best beers around you will find a way to cope. Overall check out nine giant! FRIED PICKLES. that's all you need to know! As far as the beers, they rotate quite often, and in my few visits here I had not found a favorite. But I tend to be very picky in my beer selection so it is hard for me to find a "favorite." I do like that is a chill, smaller place...perfect to make your local neighborhood brewery. I believe they also served wine if you come here with a non-beer drinking friend (we all have one!). I follow them on social media and I see all the time that they have fun theme nights like burger night and plinko night. I wish I would have attended one before I moved out of the area! I would have loved to see a more "comfy" area, like a couch and chairs to hang out. read more

As I'm not a beer drinker, I probably would have bypassed Nine Giant pre-COVID. However, early on, they were one of the first restaurants I saw pivot to start offering carry-out cocktails. We've now been there a couple times to pick up carry-out food and drinks. The food we've gotten is relatively simple but very tasty. Their cocktail options have continuously evolved, and I'm definitely interested in the Tropical Creamsicle they currently have on their menu! read more

Nine Giant is a lovely brewery! With so many breweries around Cincinnati, what makes this place special? Everything about it! The space is modest and decent for a brewery- come in advance during weekend evenings to grab a table. They offer a vast variety of beer options- and you are sure to find atleast something here that you prefer- Lager, Stout, IPA, anything. I tried the Raspberry Berliner, which was alright. My friend got the Stout which was delicious. Their beer list keeps on changing too. The food is outrageously good. Seriously. Other breweries have limited food options- but this just wins it! I had the Spicy fried chicken sandwich, and my friend got the Tuna melt sandwich. We loved the food! The chicken was spicy, and crispy, and juicy, and so good. The vibe is very chill and laidback. The service is really good. Bonus: If you visit on Saturdays, you get to relish in the wonderful donuts by starlightdonuts. read more

Solid spot for craft beer and food. These guys actually make decent food compared to their peers. It seems like breweries all have the same menu but Nine Giant offers some different options. Their Rueben comes with their special sauce and is very good. Not too heavy but the flavors hit the right notes. I enjoyed the brussel sprout appetizer. Perfectly cooked and dressed. Let me start by saying, "I really wanted to give them 5 stars." Just a couple things held me back from that elusive 5-star review. But I'll get to that. The beer menu is limited, but quality and balanced. Our friends that we were with tend to enjoy lighter beers, so they both ordered "Nature Always Wins," a simple pale lager. Perfect for "light beer drinkers." My husband and I opted for "Pass the Mic: Moutere" and we both really liked it a lot. More flavor and robust than a typical pale ale. They also have a decent list of wines available. While the menu is not large, it's quality - 100%. Everything is scratch made and it as delicious. We started by snacking on pommes frites. The house made ketchup had a good kick and the light seasoning on the fries was perfect. On to dinner, we ordered The NG Burger (delicious), the Reuben (very robust and looked incredible), and the Grilled chicken Sammy. Everyone loved their food and agreed it was worth visiting again. I loved how kid-friendly this place was. There were families, couples, friends hanging out, a little of everything and people of all ages. It was warm and cozy for a cold winter night. The staff was super friendly too. So, my only complaints, which are really minor TBH, there is not a lot of seating. 1 - It's just not a very big place and while they do have several bar height tables where you can share space with strangers, when we asked a lady on the end if we could share the 4 spots in the middle, she was pretty rude about it. She gave me an eye roll. I know they can't control the customers (obvi) but it was so odd and it was a brewpub, sooo, that was awkward. It was packed at 6:30 on a Saturday night and luckily her "partner" was far more friendly and welcomed us next to them. We sat down anyway and while I could feel the ice emanating off her body, had this been a larger place, it would've been less of an issue. When we were leaving there was a group of 10 people that were just standing by the for enjoying their beers. I would not recommend this place for more than 6 people max (2 or 4 would be better). However, sometimes bigger places get TOO BIG and you never get a drink and never get your food. So it's a fair tradeoff. 2 - Parking in Pleasant Ridge is just plain terrible. Terrible. There's some street parking and maybe you snag a spot at a bank after hours, but honestly, it's abysmal considering how many restaurants are in this one tiny block. I do love the vibe of Pleasant Ridge and no doubt, we'll be back to the area. We've eaten at a few places on this strip and during the summer, it would be great. Not sure if they set up outside seating, but that would help a lot. read more

Having spent considerable time exploring various area restaurants and pubs looking and eating great hamburgers I think I've found the very best burger. 9 Giants Brewing has a pub burger that leaves the competition behind. From the bun to the condiments to that delicious hunk of perfectly cooked beef, you simply have the right blend for the ultimate burger. The fact that this burger was part of a to go order and was still this good makes it even more remarkable. Kudos to 9 Giant. The accompanying fries were fine as were my wife's Mac n cheese. 9 Giant is a special place in an increasingly cool neighborhood. Parking is tight and kind of small with limited seating. OMG, what a find! This is the typical brew pub. But I just say the food IS as good as the people say. We had the nachos, chicken sandwich, chicken Alfredo and the salad. All of it was outstanding. My only complaint is the soft drinks came in cans. So non beer drinkers may not like that. But this a pleasant find. Very happy diner here. read more

Only a mile home from where I live and so glad we checked it out!! It's next to Andy's Flying Tiger Tattoo and Overlook Lodge: A Rustic Watering Hole. They do not do flights, only half pours which half the price of a pints ($3.00). It's a simple drink menu but I really liked everything so we had to try them all. We tried: -New Sensation Sparkling Ale which is a light tropical fruit -West End Girls India Porter which is cocoa nibs, herbal roast coffee -Rocket Hefeweizen- Banana and Clove -Heartbreaker Belgian White- Orange, Grapefruit, Coriander -Mistadobalina American Pale Ale- Tangerine Orange, Bright Spice -Picture of Nectar Experimental Tart- Tart, Crisp, Light Tropical Fruit -Bull in the Heather- Papaya, Berries, Tangerine. My favorites were the Picture of Nectar Experimental Tart (I though it would be really tart, but balanced so well with the tropical fruit) and West End Girls India Porter which is not so heavy on the coffee but you can definitely taste the chocolate. Besides their specialty home brewed beers, they also have Braxton, Eight Ball, and 50 West (Loved the Home Sweet Home Candied Yam Brown) on tap. If you are unsure of any of the beers, they are happy to give you tiny samples. I can't wait to come back. Our server was very patient with answering all our questions and didn't feel rushed to order. It is definitely a laid back and cozy bar. Next time I return, I would love to try their food menu. It is also a simple menu and meals are made from scratch. From Salads, to chili, Fries, Falafel bites/pita, Cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, and sandwiches. What a great experience!! I came here with my fiancé the week we moved to Cincinnati and we had a great experience! There was a short wait, so we put our names in and then they texted us when our table was ready. It was maybe a 10min wait on a Friday night. Not bad! We tried a few different beers and they were all great! We also had the brussel sprouts and split the burger. The food was all so good! The service was also great. All workers wore masks the entire time, cleaned up quickly, and kept the tables spaced out. We will definitely return! read more

My son picked Nine Giant for birthday meal. I had no idea this place existed. My sister, brother in law and son live within 5 minutes of the place. Totally reminds my of being in one of the new places downtown. The atmosphere is cool and laid back. I had the shrimp and grits, it was very good. My son had the French dip sandwich with goetta fritters which he devoured and raved about. My sister had the chili with a delicious hunk of corn bread. My brother in law who is a wing man had the wings and said that they were awesome. The fries and grilled cheese were also good. We are already planning a trip back. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Cincinnati! I have been here countless times and never been disappointed. The food is amazing, the menu changes quite frequently so there's always something new to try. I'm not much of a beer drinker but they have a good selection, and I enjoy the wine. This place never disappoints! The beer selection is always vast enough to please a wide palette range, and they also serve wine for the non - beer drinkers of your group! While they do not do flights, they have half pours that make trying multiple beers an option. They also are very generous with letting you try anything before ordering! I'm really sad that I have to give this 1 star as 0 stars isn't an option. We'd been told by just about everyone we know that this place has fantastic food. Bar is set really high... We had a reservation set for 8:30 through YELP. We were gladly greeted and COVID screened. Nice touch. A few minutes later someone came over to check to see if we had been asked about drinks yet to which we hadn't and gladly took our first order. As the drinks were delivered we also ordered food. An appetizer and two sandwiches. It's probably 8:40 at this point. We would not be waited on in any capacity until approximately 9:25 when a gentleman just dropped off the two sandwiches and made some sort of comment that "food was on the house" and walked away. At this point, the table to our left had been waited on and the table to our right had been visited twice for cleaning, and another time to sit new patrons and take their drink order. Even worse.. You've seen the pictures of the gooey grilled cheese on here? Yeah, ours came out with no cheese. Not sure how a sandwich with cheese and bread can be served with no cheese but it happened. So we gave it a minute thinking someone might stop over for drinks... and still no. We've been waited on just 1 time in an hour. I decided to get up and get in the To-Go beer line to get our check and was asked what I needed, and was given the check and paid. No explanation for how everyone else in the place got serviced, no apology, nothing. Even a "Hey sorry not sure what happened let me get you a beer since you waited forever with no service and we messed up the food" would have sufficed but sadly not. Don't come here. Ever. Seems like awful service is a theme in these reviews and can be substantiated. read more

I wish I could exuberantly support this new place, but I am super disappointed in the food. Grilled cheese was really bland and they burnt my bread. I added bacon and it still didn't help and there wasn't much filling (basically I just ate burnt bread). My boyfriends burger was moderately better but there are way better burgers close by (Gordos). I've never been a fan of fried pickles and I didn't become one today. The reason for two star instead of one is the beer. I enjoyed their CREAM- refreshing. Atmosphere is just okay. I'm can't say I'd pick this place to hang out for a beer with friends. Super loud and something about the table configuration makes it feel unfriendly - unlike a modern brew house feel that has been popping up in Cincy. read more

Can't wait to go back from the Caribbean Jerk chicken sandwich. One of the best sandwiches I've ever been privileged to enjoy. My mouth is watering as I write this. The loaded nachos were pretty good too. The fries were good for fries. The burger was juicy but nothing special beyond that; wouldn't get that again. One of Cincinnati's newest craft breweries, Nine Giant, has been open for a couple of months now. My family and I finally got a chance to give it a try a couple of Sunday's ago. We had actually tried to go a couple of Friday's earlier for dinner and found it too crowded and loud for a our preschool aged children. On our second attempt we chose early on a Sunday evening and found the crowd to be much more manageable and it not quite as loud. It was still a little on the louder side, but there were signs posted that around the room stating that sound insulation was soon coming. I sampled both their Gold Soundz, a fruity IPA, and SRV, a hoppy brown ($6 per full pour). I enjoyed both beers and would rate them above average with no real preference toward either one. I would recommend ordering the one that traditionally falls in line with your flavor preferences. My wife also thoroughly enjoyed the Django Belgian Single, so don't be afraid to give that a try if you are more into Belgians. The food menu is quite small but we found plenty on the menu that suited our tastes. We started with an order of house made deep-fried pickle chips with a side of horseradish aioli ($4). I almost didn't order these but threw them in at the last second and I am so glad that I did. The pickles were thick sliced and fried to perfection. The aioli wasn't necessary in our eyes, but just a slight dip in the sauce added a nice kick to each bite. Each week they have a new special item on the menu. During our visit it was the local heirloom tomato BLT topped with arugula pesto on Sixteen Bricks Artisan Bakehouse Challah bread. I'm a sucker for a good BLT, so I knew right away that I would be ordering this. I'm not normally a huge fan or arugula, although my exposure has mostly been in salads, but the pesto was awesome. The tomatoes were ripe and perfect and their bacon was outstanding. Overall an excellent BLT. The kids menu is simple but effective, a cheese burger and a grilled cheese. The burger features local, grass-fed beef in a smashed-style patty with sharp cheddar cheese on Sixteen Bricks Challah bread with the crust cut off ($5). My five-year-old loved this and ate nearly the entire thing. My wife went with the falafel wrap served in a naan wrap with lettuce, tomato, house-made pickles and tzatziki sauce ($7). She didn't seem as impressed as I was with the BLT, but I took a bite of the wrap and really enjoyed it. The pickles added a nice touch and the falafel was above average. I would have maybe liked a bit more tzatziki sauce. Overall I felt it was a great vegetarian option. Free wi-fi is offered as well as a handful of low top tables for those with families. Though most of the space is reserved for the bar and larger sized high tops. The space is not nearly as large as some of the dominant craft breweries that opened years ago in the area, but falls more inline with what is opening up more and more these days, smaller tap rooms with an emphasis on their immediate neighborhoods. With that said I think the popularity of their beers and food will allow them to cater towards those from around the entire city. read more

My husband and I are from Chicago and when we are in Cincinnati visiting friends we make it a point to stop in here! My husband is always satisfied with the beer that's on tap! I found out you can only contact this place they Facebook or Instagram? Huh??? I ordered take out. Unfortunately, it just wasn't very good food. The burger was so small it didn't fit the bun.. the lobster Mac was dry and cold and the fries were undercooked and cold. They told me to pick up at a certain time but texted me to say my order was ready 10 minutes early. I did reach out through FB and the manager was kind and agreed to remake the food if I brought it back. The burgers weren't any better and neither were the fries but the Lobster Mac was delicious! I'm taking away a star for the bizarre form of communication and the fact that the food was just not that great. Also, I would like to note that the manager told me the regular menu NG burger is the exact same size as the children's burger! What!?!? Then why is the NG burger $11 and the children's $6???? read more
