    Sat at the bar, Matt was bartending, he was so friendly made a legit perfect lemon drop martini, the manhattan was also excellent. We ordered some poutine fries, crab cake, house meatballs, all the food was amazing, we met the chef he stopped by to say Hi, the whole experience was wonderful. They have a happy hour menu with some deals. My favorite part was the rolling carts of food! Perfect date night spot!

    What an incredible dining experience! This restaurant is truly top-notch, and Kenneth, our server, was by far the best we have ever had. Dining isn't just about a meal, it's about the entire experience, and Kenneth exceeded every expectation. His food suggestions were spot-on, and each entrée was absolutely delicious. We came in to celebrate my mom's birthday, and everything from the service to the atmosphere made it so memorable. I ordered a French 75 and a Death & Taxes Smoked cocktail both were outstanding. I will definitely return. If you come in ask for Ken you won't regret it he's part of the dinning experience

    Dining at the Nineteen 86 Steakhouse inside the casino proved to be a perplexing experience--an evening full of inconsistencies that, while not disastrous, left the table unsettled and underwhelmed. Service & Atmosphere The evening began with an unusual lull: nearly ten minutes passed before anyone approached to take drink orders. Bread followed another ten minutes later, though curiously, a basket sized for only two diners was brought to a table of four. A larger basket eventually arrived, but the initial misstep set the tone--minor oversights adding up to a disjointed rhythm. Service throughout the evening was polite but lacked attentiveness, leaving guests to navigate awkward plating mishaps on their own. Starters The French onion soup carried good flavor but missed the depth that comes from a proper wine base; the broth felt thin, and the cheese topper leaned heavy and imbalanced. The lobster bisque arrived blisteringly hot--so much so that tasting it immediately was nearly impossible. While capped with an attractive pastry dome, the excessive heat muted enjoyment. Escargot brought another oddity: the flavors were there, but the breadcrumb-heavy presentation strayed from tradition and distracted more than it delighted. Entrées Steakhouse fundamentals are where one hopes for redemption, yet execution here was mixed. An 18-ounce ribeye arrived unexpectedly bone-in, explained as "the standard presentation," though this wasn't communicated on the menu. The rib cap, a cut typically presented with a signature swirl, was instead plated like a strip steak. Cooked properly to medium-rare and flavorful, yes, but visually at odds with expectations. A far stranger misstep came when king crab legs ordered by another guest were mistakenly plated beneath the ribeye--requiring diners to awkwardly separate surf from turf without staff intervention. Such oversights undermine the polish one expects from a prime steakhouse. Sides The lobster mac & cheese, delivered after entrées were already served, highlighted timing issues in the kitchen. Generous in lobster but hindered by dense, stringy cheese and slightly underdone pasta, the dish felt more clumsy than indulgent. Verdict Nineteen 86 Steakhouse is not without merit--the steaks were cooked correctly, the bread was satisfying, and certain flavors showed promise. Yet the evening was marred by inconsistent pacing, atypical and sometimes confusing presentations, and service lapses that placed the burden on the guests. This is not the worst steakhouse experience by any means, but at this level and setting, expectations are higher. In short: a jerky, uneven dinner service with flashes of quality that never coalesced into a refined whole.

    Update (5 years later): Still exceptional. We returned to Nineteen86 Steakhouse on Christmas Day around 5:45 PM as a party of four, and once again, this place absolutely delivered. When we arrived, there was a small hiccup with our OpenTable reservation. It showed three guests on the restaurant end even though we had added a fourth beforehand on OpenTable. Our host explained that the update never reached their system, but she handled it immediately and graciously accommodated all four of us without hesitation. This was impressive on a busy holiday. I wish I had caught the names of our servers because they truly deserve recognition. Our main server and a female server who stepped in midway through our courses worked seamlessly together, very much in tandem. Both were attentive, patient, and incredibly detail-oriented. Water was always available, timing between courses was spot-on, and check-ins felt thoughtful. They were also wonderful about explaining the Christmas set menu, which was new for my daughter, and made her feel completely comfortable asking questions. The food was outstanding. The prime rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the maple bacon pecan tart appetizer ( I think that was the name) was rich and delicious, and the cheesecake completely won my daughter over. By the time we finished our meal, we were so full we had to take some home. Even as leftovers, the quality absolutely held up. Re-warmed with the au jus, the prime rib was still incredibly flavorful and tender, which speaks volumes about the care and technique behind the dish. Holidays or special occasions, we happily drive out of Sierra Vista to dine here, and this Christmas visit reminded us exactly why. Consistency like this (in both food and service) is rare. Thank you to the entire team for making our Christmas dinner so special. We'll absolutely be back.

    We made a reservation which were recommended but when we walked in on a Friday night they were taking people on standby who were able to wait in the bar.

I checked in with the front-end person to inform them of my arrival and reservation. She found my name and informed me that the dining room was not yet open and that it would be open at 4pm. There were others waiting as well. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and upon my return there were others waiting too. A few minutes after 4pm they began calling names. All names were called by last name. Everyone was called and seated, including those that arrived after me. I was the last remaining person to be seated. They finally called me by my first name and took me over to be seated. They attempted to seat my right next to a large party. I requested that I be placed away stating that I did not want to be next to the group. She replied that they had no other servers and it may be a while. Within moments she sat me one table away. Why was I the last to be seated? The server finally came over and began his routine. I didn't like how he made sure to state over and over how the sides are not included and they all cost extra. I assure you that I can afford to eat at your establishment. He was very set on pushing the del monico steak. I had already stated that I wanted the Ribeye. I agreed to listen to the del monico explanation where he shared that the filet had no fat and the ribeye had lots of fat. The del monica was right in the middle. After the sales pitch, I was again set on the Ribeye. Not sure that he agreed with my choice, because he continued by stating that I must like my steak with lots of fat. The order was placed, not to his liking yet I was there for my enjoyment. Along with the steak I ordered a cup of clam chowder and side of asparagus. The clam chowder was not as flavorful as I had hoped for. The asparagus was under prepared. It was as if I was eating them raw, very crunchy. They did have nice flavor though. The server was informed that I was there for a Ribeye and a specialty drink. We had already discussed the steak so now for the drink. When I asked about the drinks, he just showed me the menu. I had already seen the menu on both sides yet I wasn't sure what drink I wanted. I explained again that I wasn't sure, yet I was hoping for a specialty drink. By this time other places begin suggesting specialty drinks based on my liking. That is the case when I visit Capital Grill in Scottsdale. Now when I visit there the server knows my drink. Today this server only stated that they have a full bar so once I decide I can order. So he was not helpful at all in that area of the restaurant. I thought a server would be knowledgeable enough to be able to make suggestions or recommendations and advise & inform me about the bar. What are the customer favorites? What has the bar come up with that customers like most? I saw on the website some drinks that looked interesting, yet I never saw any names attached to them. The server never came back after taking my order unless flagged by me. First, I called him when I had to show him the steak asking if that was Medium well. He stated no. Second was when I called him over to ask for a to go box for my steak. By 5pm I was not enjoying myself, so I decided to depart. The steak had to be sent back two times. The first after asking the server is this Medium well? He noticed how rare it was and took the steak back. When it came back a female in tan brought it back and asked me to check it. I cut it and again it was still rare. She picked it up asking if I wanted her to cook up a fresh steak. Without hearing my reply, she departed with the steak. Upon her return I noticed that she brought back the same steak. I cut into it and it was ok enough. I just wanted to eat. The steak was not as perfect as I had hoped for even after the trip back to the kitchen two times. That was the reason that I was at a so-called high-end restaurant, I wanted to enjoy a high-quality steak prepared perfectly with outstanding texture and taste. That was not the case here. The steak was a bit tough and chewy. I have returned a steak a few times but never twice at the same place. Doesn't the cook know when the steak is prepared as ordered? To order a steak at Texas Roadhouse means you will get exactly what you ordered with a very high 90 plus percent of the time. Not one person stopped by my table to ask how everything was going or how I was. Every place else I have visited at least the server will ask. Wasn't there a manager making rounds checking on their restaurant? This place showed me they just don't care about people or only the select people maybe. As a Veteran I don't ask for much, just treat me with dignity and respect. I remained calm and was trying to enjoy the meal. The hostess told us we were welcome to walk through the bar to see if we could find a table ourselves, but that they were extremely busy and likely wouldn't have anything available. After looking around, we came back and asked if the patio was an option since the misters made it surprisingly comfortable despite the Arizona heat. We were told the patio was for reservations only. When I reminded the hostess that we had a reservation, the explanation suddenly changed to, "We're on an event menu tonight." She handed me the menu while I stood at the host stand, walked away, and never really explained what that meant for our reservation or whether we would actually be seated. When she returned, instead of offering a wait time or another solution, she suggested we try Thirsty Lion down the sidewalk instead. At that point, it became clear that our reservation wasn't going to be honored. Parting Thoughts I completely understand that restaurants get busy, especially during major events. What disappointed me wasn't the crowd--it was having a confirmed reservation, receiving multiple confirmation requests, making several unanswered phone calls beforehand, and ultimately being left without a table or a meaningful explanation.

I ordered the appetizer lamb lollipops which had four small pieces for $25. My friend decided to try the "happy hour" cheeseburger and he said it was good but it did appear a bit overpriced for an average burger with a pretty hefty serving of french fries. I really wasn't impressed by the quality of the food, the portion size, the price, or the service. Unfortunately, I'll be taking Rough Rider off my list of regular places i frequent and restaurants I recommend to others.

(He even praised the ice cream) The above is important but what also made our evening was how fun it was to be playful with our service team. We had Yuri and Krista and oh noooo I forgot to write down our busser's name. He was the best! But really, they all took such good care of us and of course the manager always stops by to check. We will definitely be coming back to happy hour more often, as we all found the dining experience one of the best happy hours around.
