What an incredible dining experience! This restaurant is truly top-notch, and Kenneth, our server, was by far the best we have ever had. Dining isn't just about a meal, it's about the entire experience, and Kenneth exceeded every expectation. His food suggestions were spot-on, and each entrée was absolutely delicious. We came in to celebrate my mom's birthday, and everything from the service to the atmosphere made it so memorable. I ordered a French 75 and a Death & Taxes Smoked cocktail both were outstanding. I will definitely return. If you come in ask for Ken you won't regret it he's part of the dinning experience

Sat at the bar, Matt was bartending, he was so friendly made a legit perfect lemon drop martini, the manhattan was also excellent. We ordered some poutine fries, crab cake, house meatballs, all the food was amazing, we met the chef he stopped by to say Hi, the whole experience was wonderful. They have a happy hour menu with some deals. My favorite part was the rolling carts of food! Perfect date night spot!

I took Joanna to the Nineteen 86 Steakhouse at the Desert Diamond Casino owned by the Tohono O'odham Nation last night. I had a perfect Caesar salad and the dry aged 22 ounce bone-in ribeye. The steak was tender and delicious. I had the thermador tater skins, which were amazing! Joanna had the 8 ounce Waygu filet, medium rare. Her filet was tender, juicy, delicious and perfect. Joanna loved it! She also had buttered whipped potatoes. Our server, April, was excellent and she patiently answered our questions: "What is dry aged; what does Waygu mean; what is the significance of the name Nineteen 86?" Joanna loved the ambiance, the service and the food.

Dining at the Nineteen 86 Steakhouse inside the casino proved to be a perplexing experience--an evening full of inconsistencies that, while not disastrous, left the table unsettled and underwhelmed. Service & Atmosphere The evening began with an unusual lull: nearly ten minutes passed before anyone approached to take drink orders. Bread followed another ten minutes later, though curiously, a basket sized for only two diners was brought to a table of four. A larger basket eventually arrived, but the initial misstep set the tone--minor oversights adding up to a disjointed rhythm. Service throughout the evening was polite but lacked attentiveness, leaving guests to navigate awkward plating mishaps on their own. Starters The French onion soup carried good flavor but missed the depth that comes from a proper wine base; the broth felt thin, and the cheese topper leaned heavy and imbalanced. The lobster bisque arrived blisteringly hot--so much so that tasting it immediately was nearly impossible. While capped with an attractive pastry dome, the excessive heat muted enjoyment. Escargot brought another oddity: the flavors were there, but the breadcrumb-heavy presentation strayed from tradition and distracted more than it delighted. Entrées Steakhouse fundamentals are where one hopes for redemption, yet execution here was mixed. An 18-ounce ribeye arrived unexpectedly bone-in, explained as "the standard presentation," though this wasn't communicated on the menu. The rib cap, a cut typically presented with a signature swirl, was instead plated like a strip steak. Cooked properly to medium-rare and flavorful, yes, but visually at odds with expectations. A far stranger misstep came when king crab legs ordered by another guest were mistakenly plated beneath the ribeye--requiring diners to awkwardly separate surf from turf without staff intervention. Such oversights undermine the polish one expects from a prime steakhouse. Sides The lobster mac & cheese, delivered after entrées were already served, highlighted timing issues in the kitchen. Generous in lobster but hindered by dense, stringy cheese and slightly underdone pasta, the dish felt more clumsy than indulgent. Verdict Nineteen 86 Steakhouse is not without merit--the steaks were cooked correctly, the bread was satisfying, and certain flavors showed promise. Yet the evening was marred by inconsistent pacing, atypical and sometimes confusing presentations, and service lapses that placed the burden on the guests. This is not the worst steakhouse experience by any means, but at this level and setting, expectations are higher. In short: a jerky, uneven dinner service with flashes of quality that never coalesced into a refined whole.

Update (5 years later): Still exceptional. We returned to Nineteen86 Steakhouse on Christmas Day around 5:45 PM as a party of four, and once again, this place absolutely delivered. When we arrived, there was a small hiccup with our OpenTable reservation. It showed three guests on the restaurant end even though we had added a fourth beforehand on OpenTable. Our host explained that the update never reached their system, but she handled it immediately and graciously accommodated all four of us without hesitation. This was impressive on a busy holiday. I wish I had caught the names of our servers because they truly deserve recognition. Our main server and a female server who stepped in midway through our courses worked seamlessly together, very much in tandem. Both were attentive, patient, and incredibly detail-oriented. Water was always available, timing between courses was spot-on, and check-ins felt thoughtful. They were also wonderful about explaining the Christmas set menu, which was new for my daughter, and made her feel completely comfortable asking questions. The food was outstanding. The prime rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the maple bacon pecan tart appetizer ( I think that was the name) was rich and delicious, and the cheesecake completely won my daughter over. By the time we finished our meal, we were so full we had to take some home. Even as leftovers, the quality absolutely held up. Re-warmed with the au jus, the prime rib was still incredibly flavorful and tender, which speaks volumes about the care and technique behind the dish. Holidays or special occasions, we happily drive out of Sierra Vista to dine here, and this Christmas visit reminded us exactly why. Consistency like this (in both food and service) is rare. Thank you to the entire team for making our Christmas dinner so special. We'll absolutely be back.

Their house blend is the best sauce I've ever had, that alone is what keeps us coming back, I believe it is a Viet style Cajun sauce. We usually get the build your own combo, with crawfish, snow crab, and a few appetizers like french fries, garlic noodles, and onion rings. I believe they have changed management recently, or in the past few years. Although the sauce remains delicious, the food quality seems to be falling, and I see that they have a few food safety violations listed on their Yelp. The garlic noodles were swimming in the watery sauce, and the Cajun fries were not tossed, just sprinkled on top. The restaurant has never been that busy when we go, and there is usually is only one server doing all the hosting, food running, and waitressing. Ours seemed to be a little stressed today, and did not refill our drinks as much as we would've preferred, and forgot things like our salt and pepper. We will probably still keep coming just for that sauce, but looks like the restaurant has a few things to work out to bring back its former glory.

I picked the garlic and lemon pepper. well unfortunately they use the garlic that is already crushed and cut and not fresh garlic in their food and they overcooked the crab and if you do get the lobster tail, they give you 1 whole lobster tail cut in half for two people and they give you lots of shrimp, I mean a lot of shrimp compared to anything else in that seafood broil bag had they overcooked all the sea food and they used a lot of that crushed already diced garlic. That did not make the food Taste good at all. They put way too much garlic in it, and the food was impossible to eat because it was overcooked and it was rubbery. I was very disappointed on how much money I spent . if I knew in advance that they had a family emergency and was closing 1 hour early I would've waited and come back the next day and maybe the food would've have tasted a lot better. It was the lobster seafood boil for two couples, and I bought two sets for four couples. Just beware that if they're in a hurry, try not to be in a hurry to eat here. You probably get a better experience than what my family did. I've been to crab shacks before that has seafood boil and they were way better and not so stingy for the price they charge you. when I was there, there was only one family sitting at a table. The rest of the restaurant was empty. The waitress she was very friendly and very nice and very accommodating.

The waitress was attentive the whole time, bathrooms were clean, and I really appreciated how mindful the staff was with my deaf friend. That always stands out to me. The calamari was okay. I liked it, but my friend said she's definitely had better. I also had to ask for lemon with the calamari. Last time I came with a friend they were completely out of lemons, so I was glad that wasn't an issue this time. I'd probably try something different instead of the calamari next visit though. We got the Pier 88 combo crab boil with the "All of the Above" seasoning in mild. It came out super quick and was very well seasoned. I personally thought it leaned a little salty, but I also saw other tables adding extra salt to their food, so I guess it just depends on your taste. Portions were good and everything tasted delicious. Very kid-friendly spot, pretty loud and lively inside, and honestly a great place for hosting bigger groups, family get-togethers, or even just catching up with a friend over drinks and seafood. I've been here before and would definitely come back again.

But our server was great and he would have gotten the 20% at least... I don't know why I didn't take pictures except for mine. Probably because I was so freaking annoyed. Well for a start Fruit De Mer, $37.95 for shrimp, crab fingers and oysters. Shrimp was OK, they weren't pealed probably so I bit into small shells few times, crab fingers was super tiny with almost no meat to little meat, little fishy, not tasty, oysters.. two big and two tiny ones. Big ones I'm guessing Louisiana oysters, small one I have no idea. I kid you not small ones looked like ones you get at cheap Chinese buffet. For how much you got the price you pay was beyond me. I think maybe 15 bux might have been OK. Rest of the dishes were pretty good but when I saw my dish I was confused. I had to look at the menu to see if I made the right order. Looked at the picture I took 11 months ago and verified I orders the same dish. I know cost of things have gotten up and some times you have to decide keep the price same and give smaller portion or raise the price.. Well I would have preferred either or. Not the dish I got which looked and tasted like, keep the same peice, add more pasta, put less seafood. I was so annoyed I wanted to complain but I got the evil eyes from my wifey since it was a bday dinner celebration, so I kept my mout shut. I remember seafood gumbo being amazing but for some reason shrimp gumbo was also pure disappointment. Little salty and lacked the flavor that I remember eating. Definitely not worth the price for a cup. Filet mignon for $68.95 definitely was not worth the price tag also. Over all food was pretty good but not as good as last time I ate there. Service was still great which is nice. I cannot keep this place 4 starts anymore. And I used to recommend this place to everybody but not after today. That almost $38 appetizer was sad and over priced and they totally ruined my Pasta Mardi Gras. Maybe I am being too harsh but 8 people dinner with 3 appetizers, one main dishes per person, just water to drink for over $650, I just could not get over the fact that it was not worth the over all price.

I think his name was J. He is a big part of the reason the visit was so special. The food was mostly excellent. I got a petite filet and lobster tail with Caesar salad and fried brussel sprouts. I do love them crunchy and they were. The salad barely had any dressing. It would have been better with a little more. My fault for not asking. Now the steak; my whole reason for the trip. Honestly, a little disappointing. The cut was beautifully tender. That why I love a good filet. Unfortunately, there was very little caramelization on the outside. I would have enjoyed more. Also, there didn't seem to be very much seasoning. I like it a little more on the salty side, but I am sure others don't. I'm sure I could request it next time. Last, the lobster tails made up for any possible shortcomings in anything else. It is rare, that I have one as perfect as these were. Absolute heaven! Sure, I'll be back.
