On our 39th wedding anniversary we had a less than satisfactory experience at the Nineteen 86 Steakhouse. The Lobster Bisque was very good. The Lobster was very good. But, the 8oz filet was subpar, small and tough to cut and chew. We are glad we got only one to share as it was a disappointment. We go to Texas Roadhouse almost every week and we know that that is how 8oz filet is supposed to be. Now for the service. Although it was skillfully executed we had an issue when the waiter playfully smacked my wife on the shoulder, a shoulder she seriously injured and has been recovering from for 5 months. We informed him that the shoulder had been seriously injured and that type of contact was unwelcome, painful and inappropriate. He offered a "free dessert". When it came time for dessert he mentioned that he could only offer bread pudding. Yuck! We were looking forward to Creme Brulé and cheesecake which we paid for ourselves. We had a reservation for 6:30pm on a Sunday. We arrived slightly early and had a wait of about 10 minutes. Not bad, but unfortunately the bar was full and there were no other places to sit. That's okay, the wait wasn't too bad. After being seated, it was about a 15-20 minute wait before our waiter arrived at the table. He gave us our menus and walked away without offering bread or drinks. After another 10 minutes, he took our drink orders. He returned in another 10 minutes with our drink, so it was about 400 minutes to get our drinks. Unfortunately no bread, so we asked an hors d-oeuvre server. He didn't bring any either. When our server returned, we asked for appetizers. They did come out shortly. And shortly after that, we asked our server for bread again. After another 10 minutes it finally arrived. We were hungry, thank goodness!!! It was noticeably apparent that other guests around us were getting impatient. One lady next to us was outright angry at the wait. I try not to let anything ruin a nice night out and did a little better with the wait. The appetizers were really good. My wife had the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were big and beautiful and the cocktail sauce was spicy! I got the bacon steak, yes pork belly! It was decadent and very smokey. I recommend that you share this one. It's a lot of bacon! For our main course, I ordered a filet Mignon medium-rare and a lobster tail. My wife ordered the lobster. My filet was cooked a little more toward medium but was still good. The lobster was excellent and a definite recommend! We were so full that we didn't even make it to our sides. Fortunately, they boxed our leftovers in a beautiful take home bag. I thought that was a nice touch. I do like Nineteen 86 more than other local fine dining steak houses that I have been to. I will be definitely back for special occasions. We had to ask for cocktail napkins for our drinks, silverware to eat, refills on drinks...the list goes on. She was unfriendly and not engaged in making it a great experience for her and her customers. The crab cake was DELICIOUS! I went to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The service was excellent and the meal was spectacular. We ordered the New York Strip steak to split, along with the steak we had mushrooms, carrots and brussel sprouts. The sprouts were a bit over cooked, but our server offered to have them replaced, but we chose not to. We ordered a bottle of Merlot..they were out of the one we selected, so we received a more expensive bottle for the same price. Our server was excellent. Visited the 1986 steakhouse at Desert Diamond casino in Glendale Arizona for the Thursday night steak and lobster dinner. It was a lot of food so we shared. the pictures are half portions. If you buy the steak and lobster dinner on that evening you can buy a bottle of wine for 50% off. The steak was tender and buttery, the lobster was delicious The wedge salad blew my mind it was so good and the French onion soup was among the best I've ever had. Our server Rafik was friendly warm and inviting and checked on us numerous times as did his two assistants. It is a beautiful white and black dining room with elegant silverware china and stemware. The room is brightly lit and the tables are set appropriately so you can have privacy. It is great for an intimate dinner. It is a bit on the dressy side so keep that in mind if you plan to attend but it is inside a casino so there were plenty of people in casual dress. I recommend this restaurant. The steaks range around $40 and can go up from there but for a special evening it's definitely a place I would consider returning to when I'm in the Phoenix area. read more

Was close to asking that they be comped, but I opted not to. 8 oz Filet- medium w/ mashed potatoes. A bit bloodier than I expected, but very flavorful and good texture to meat (A-). Worst food ever. I had to send the pork belly/bacon back it was totally burnt. I then ordered the sea bass and the short ribs and it tasted terrible like a tv dinner. Will never go back. So terrible. We decided to hit happy hour on 4/5/24. I had their Old Fashioned and my wife had a margarita. Well priced and were both great tasting. For food I had a half dozen oysters and lobster poutine fries. My wife had lobster bisque (non happy hour pricing). Food was great although I would not get the poutine again. Just a preference deal. Both trips we ate at the bar. Not only did Devonte educate me about the history of the restaurant he fully explained the menu and made suggestions. You can tell he is passionate about the venue and the food. Everything he recommend was tasty. These are all the items that I ordered: Dry Aged Rib Eye Aged Rib Eye (Highly recommend) Iceadic Salmon Truffle Fries Baby Carrots (My favorite) Brussel Sprouts with no bacon Sautéed Corn (I am a fan) Sauces-Peppercorn Sauce and Bordelaise Sauce Sweet Bread and Pretzel Bread The venue is romantic, dark, classy feel. We ordered the truffle fries as an appetizer and they were delicious. My husband and I both ordered the ribeye. The ribeyes were cooked perfectly and were seasoned to perfection. The sides we shared were the Brussels sprouts and the Mac and cheese. The Brussel sprouts were really good. The Mac and cheese was just okay with that being said I am not sure I would order on the next visit. We were even surprised with a complimentary dessert.We did still however order the butter cake as my husband had his heart sat on tasting one from here. Reservations were for 615pm. We got our food at 745pm. That's the best part of the experience. The shrimp was so rotten it would make the weak of stomach barf on site. That should of been a sign to leave, but we waited so long we were committed to hope. The food came out, all of our food was cold, the butter was cold too the baked potatoes it was not melting. How do you come out with a cold baked potato, 3 of them. There was 4 of us, we held our appetite thinking we are going to go have a 5 star dinner, this was not our first time here. In fact the first experience was great. The Wait staff admitted the chef was on his last week of service. The cold food was not edible, and we didn't want to complain and not pay. For myself and my gf the bill was $170 we tipped $40. The manager came out with her less than hear felt apology, the place was not that busy and she refused to go to the kitchen to smell the shrimp.
