I would love to review the service I had, but I can't and honestly wouldn't return. A friend and I wanted to catch up and figured we'd add a little self-care to the mix. She'd called and made an appointment (as required at this salon) for 2 for 6:30pm. We got there at 6:25pm. We were told to go wash our hands. That was the extent of the engagement we had from the 5 different staff members who were there. We picked our colors and sat in the waiting area at the front of the salon near the door. We sat as the 5 employees worked on the patrons who were there before us... a couple of manicures and 3 pedicures... for half an hour with no acknowledgment, no engagement, no "It'll be x minutes..." ... literally nothing. There were signs in various places in the salon however that noted that appointments are a must. I'm not sure why as ours very clearly wasn't kept. At about 7pm, we gave up and returned our selected polishes to their polish wall. Still, no one acknowledged us. As we were leaving, no one acknowledged us. It was the most bizarre experience I've ever had. We laughed about it over snacks afterward, but truly...the most bizarre experience. read more

This place was so rude to me. My manicurist did a very rushed job. I was more happy with her skill level and hike watching and I almost pulled my hands away and left; but I figured let's give it a shot. The results were deceiving because while my manicure looked pretty decent it chipped the next day which is always a sign of the quality of service. Unfortunately my most recent experience was such a disappointment in comparison to my previous visits. I went for a manicure and left with my nails in all different shapes. Most of the nails also had paint on the skin on each tip of my finger, which just showed such a lack of care. This is my go-to nail salon in Philly these days, and as other have noted, the price and quality can't be beat! I've had several gel manicures here as well as a gel pedicure. The manis tend to last about 3 weeks even with HEAVY use of my hands (hand sanitizer, gardening, etc). I also like to get less traditional colors and appreciate that they have multiple options for my favorites (light blue, dark green, etc) plus the normal wide range of red/pink/nudes. Came here all the time (see previous review) and the prices have gotten insane for what you get. I wanted to give my nails a break from gel and polish. I had a basic pedicure with gel removal with a "magic remover" ($15 bottle on amazon) bc I didn't want a dremel to my nails and NO color, basic manicure with gel removal and NO color and it was a whopping $70 without tip. Thinking I'll be going elsewhere now :-(. On top of this during her explanation at checkout all manicures and pedicures are the same price regardless of color choice and saying "we have all these colors and you didn't pick one", sorry I care about my nail health? I am feeling bad to write this review as I have been going there for past 2 years. This is not the first time happened but the unprofessionalism shown today was something I couldn't resist myself writing this as I am never going to this place again. So I had an appointment yesterday at 6:30pm and waiting 35mins with no communication by them saying it will take an hour. i rescheduled for next day.. taking time off from work for an hour and when I reach there .. they bluntly told to come later as they will take an hour. Someone who is a regular shouldn't be treated that way. Terrible experience and an apology with rudeness is why I giving 1 star. I think management should look on valuing customers time or remove the concept of appointment if they cant follow. read more

I love this salon! All the ladies are friendly and do amazing work! It's clean, quiet, and stress-free. My sisters and I love going together to get our nails done. I usually get dip powder manicures but they have a huge range of gel polish as well. Usually Emily or Jessica happen to be my manicurist. Emily always picks the best colors for me and can handle any design inspiration I bring in and Jessica is so precise and always shapes my nails perfectly! I am an art teacher and potter so I am constantly rough on my nails. The dipping powder manicure is very resistant to someone who is regularly using tools and cleaning. They do a great job of staying on schedule (without making you feel rushed), and are very professional and attentive to detail. Since Covid this is my first time getting my nails done and it was just a pedicure, but the pedicure was as good as it had been previously. I've only patronized this business once before. Service was pretty good a the time so I figured I would go again. I called 11am to schedule an appointment for a mani & pedi. They told me they had an opening at 2pm. When I arrived, I told them that I had an appointment for 2pm and they insisted that my appointment was for 2:30pm. I said, okay I'll wait. They then talked amongst each other again and tried to convince me me that my appointment was for 3pm not 2pm. Again, I said, "I'll wait" and proceeded to sit down. They then told me that that due to Covid-19, I couldn't wait inside. "Well, where am I supposed to go, I walked here", I told them. "I don't know, maybe you can hang around out here", she said as she pointed to the exterior front of their building. It's 80 degrees outside. I can't stand outside for darn near an hour waiting for service. Needless to say, I left and told them to cancel my appointment. You cannot over book appointments and expect people to stand outside waiting so you can adhered to Covid social distancing guidlines. Very unprofessional! read more

This little shop just reopened and they're having a sale for 20% off for the special occasion, so come while it's still going!! I'm not sure if I've ever actually posted a review on Yelp (I've posted them to OpenTable, though)... but this place was so wonderful, I had to! It's so easy to walk by and disregard small businesses, so I just wanted to post this review and help as much as I can because they definitely deserve it. Excellent, quality polish every time. I have never had a manicure last as long as the ones from this salon. My last gel mani I got there lasted 4 weeks, which is unheard of! Not even a chip! My nails looked terrible because they had grown out, but the polish was still perfect. They are meticulous and really take their time. I also got sns dip there and it was great. Personally I don't always love dip because it makes your nail feel thick/fake, but they buffed it down really well. That also lasted 4 weeks. Great addition to the neighborhood! read more

I've been to this nail salon before and my experience has always been OK however today I went in to get a soak off and a regular nail polish manicure and they did not know how to take off acrylic, now if you do not know how to do something please let your customer know because they ended up hurting me and I walked out very upset. I live in the neighborhood and typically frequent another local salon for my gel manicures. My usual salon is closed on Mondays so I walked into Nineteen Nail & Spa for a pedicure in the afternoon. I was helped immediately and all of the staff were friendly and professional. All of the tools used were sterilized and she even gave me the nail file to take home. The best manicure for the best price! $25 dollars for a gel polish that last at least three weeks without chipping (and I use a lot of hand sanitizer for my job.) The tools did come out of individual wrapped packages and certificates were posted on the wall, but clippings and skin were tossed on the floor. I will not go here again. I wanted my acrylics off that I had gotten done at another nail salon. Instead of simply saying they couldn't do that because they don't do any acrylic nail services, they tried. It took 3 different people, an hour and a half, and they shaved my nails down so much trying to get the acrylics off that they were starting to shave into my bare skin to the point where it hurt and I said ouch. And they up-charged me $20, when this is maximum $10 at another salon. Wish they would've just saved me the money, time and pain and told me they couldn't take the acrylics off when I walked in. read more

Excellent service. All of the nail techs were super friendly and accommodating. I went in for a full set but they don't use acrylic. Instead I got dip powder with tips which is supposed to be much healthier for your nails. The whole process was very quick, I was in and out in 40 minutes. Only complaint is that there aren't a plethora of dip powder colors, there are mostly nudes and reds which isn't a problem for me but could be for someone else. read more

The staff here are so friendly and meticulous. I refuse to go anywhere else because compared to here, it's just not worth it. Everywhere else I go in the city skimps on something, but this place has got it all. They are so careful and attentive and really take their time - every nail and cuticle is perfect when they're through. They do get a bit backed up during the week though so I usually go on Sunday afternoons when it's not as busy. Prices are reasonable as well. Gel manicure is $25 and I think the regular pedicure is $23 so very standard prices for excellent quality. read more
