I've FINALLY found my go-to nail spot in South Philly! I've been searching/trying out new places for almost a year now and I'm really upset I haven't gone to Cozy Nails sooner. From the warm greeting once I walked in the door, to being helped picking out a color, to the relaxing and well-done pedicure that also included an extensive leg/foot massage--I had such a great experience here! They also massage your neck and upper back for a bit while your nails dry, major plus! All 4 women who were working today were extremely kind, I felt comfortable and welcomed the whole time I was there. The ladies helped me pick a neutral/natural pale pink for the mani, and a slightly pinker pink for the pedi. Spouse opted for no polish. Wuss. This used to be my favorite salon pre Covid. Just went in there for the first time in a while and boy have things changed. The sweet ladies who took great care of you are no longer there. She's only taking one person in the salon at a time which seems great but my mani pedi seemed very rushed. My feet weren't even scrubbed during the pedicure. Also she wrapped my feet as soon as the next appointment came in and by the time i got home the big toes were both ruined. Hopefully she gets her former staff back and this will again be my favorite salon. read more

I completely agree with a previous reviewer...this was my favorite spa pre-covid. The previous owners were super sweet, service was excellent and they were very attentive. Now this is place is a near empty cold salon. I made an appointment for 2 pedicures and although there were two people in the salon i had to wait until my friends was done until they would do mine. Pedicure was not as great as the previous owners staff. In addition, I told them multiple times to close the front door because is was below freezing and they would not do it. The prices are now much higher. Overall, subpar place now. I miss the old owners...they were simply delightful. read more

I only get my nails done once a year, but I felt compelled to try a gel mani in my new neighborhood. This will be my new go-to spot. I was able to schedule for a same day gel manicure after work. The salon is clean and taking extra precautions with COVID. Thi took care of me and humored my request for black stiletto nails. She did a great job. I think I just have to admit, I cannot pull them off. (At least they'll look great for NYE). Thi noticed I broke a couple nails and was kind enough to repair them before painting. I even received a little hot stone shoulder massage at the end. Nice little surprise! Service was really nice and I'm happy with my manicure. I think I'll start getting my nails done regularly now. My daughter and I were faithful customers here for several years but stopped when we moved out of the area. My daughter works at a new job right around the corner and we were excited to revisit our favorite place. I was skeptical when we got reservations for mani/pedi's for Saturday morning when we called the day before. We decided to just get mani's first because it was so expensive we wanted to see how the work was. It was freezing, inside and their work was awful. Seriously, worst we ever got! Love this place! There are several quality nail salons in the area but cozy is officially my go-to now. Their gel manicures seem to last the longest and their service is above and beyond. Last time I stopped in was a Saturday morning for a pedicure and a gel manicure. First off, their pedicure chairs are so comfy and they always have HGTV or Food network on which I totally love and appreciate. They really take their time, give the best massages and make sure your feet are baby smooth! I had a cut on my finger and my technician was very mindful of it and avoided irritating it. All manicures end with an amazing hot stone massage and shoulder and hand massage...awesome! Interior-wise it looks like your run of the mill nail spot but they treat you like family. Pro tip, they accept credit cards but you have to tip in cash. They even have an ATM on site with NO SURCHARGE!!! Slightly on the pricier end of things but overall it's worth it if you want to be treated well and not rushed out. read more

I'm skeptical at times about putting out the money to get my nails painted when I have a bucket full of a few hundred dollars worth of Etsy shades beneath the bathroom sink. This place changed my mind completely! Felt like they rolled out the red carpet for us, hot rock massage and all. This salon is centrally located right on South Street and convenient to go to right before meeting up with friends for happy hour. I was a walk-in and requested a regular mani and pedi. The wait was 1/2 hour so I had a drink across the street and before I knew it I was in the massage chair. The staff is friendly and attentive and my mani and pedi were well done. However, I did not get a shoulder massage which I've become accustomed to getting in many salons. Also, $90 for a mani and pedi is just way to expensive. There are plenty of places on Philly where you can get a mani and pedi for less than $60! read more

Love you all, Cozy Nails! I go to Cozy for my pedicures; they're more expensive than the cheapest place, less expensive than the most expensive place (~$30), and the massages (leg during pedi, shoulder while you're drying) are THE BOMB. I'm also convinced that their pedicures for me last very long, and they're really attentive to detail. Even certain fancy nail places will paint uneven and just leave it -- not so at Cozy. They're on it with the details. But back to the treatment you get there. The staff are so nice, and remember me even though I come in like once every 3 months (maybe once a month in summer). The salon keeps HGTV on, like always, which I think is adorable esp. since I went out of town and another salon had CNN and it was many kinds of messed up. Give me cute houses any day. They were also great when I scheduled a pedi the same time as a friend, which sometimes can be tricky. These people are great! read more

I've gone here twice now to get my nails done and once for a pedicure. The salon itself is pretty nice, and the big chairs for pedicures are really comfortable! When I've gone there was HGTV on the television with home improvement shows. Love those! Everyone was friendly greeting me and saying goodbye. My nails looked great, and the manicure/pedicure lasted until the next time I went, so that was awesome! Definitely the best part is the hot stone massage while your nails are drying. I mean seriously that's amazing! I'm not giving it 5 stars only because it still kind of has that cheap nail salon feel to it. I don't really know how to describe it exactly, and I can't put my finger on it really. But I just don't know that the quality of the salon stands up to the quality of places like the Lacquer Lounge. Great staff & really comfy decor! All the pedi seats are amazingly plush with great back massagers! so relaxing! They do a really great job pampering you during your pedi or mani. During the pedi, they scrub, massage, & even whip out the hot stones for more massage. While you dry your nails, they also come over & massage your back. During the mani, I received great attention & more massages! lol it was massage galore -- I'm not sure if it's just bc they recently opened & they're trying to attract loyal customers but I really hope they keep it up! They also have a huge selection of OPI & essie colors -- so hard to choose!! I think they literally may have every color made. Only downside -- it's expensive & will be one of my guilty splurges. The woman who did my nails was very sweet and funny. Unfortunately, she cut my cuticles so short they bled and she made an absolute mess of a red nail polish she convinced me to get after I first chose a neutral. There is gel polish stuck to my skin, I have bubbles on 8/10 nails, and I had to refile my nails when I got home. The staff here were all so friendly... it's just a shame that it was such a horrible service. I'll have to go to Cure Nails (just a block over on Lombard and 2nd) to have them redo it tomorrow. I'm rather lazy when it comes to going to the nail salon. I don't want to walk too far and if I can drive there, even better. Consequently, I was thrilled when I saw this nail salon open less than half a block from my house. I've been to many, many nail salons in the city and this is, by far, one of the best. It is open and bright and doesn't have a lot of the cheesy nail salon decor. I've been there twice so far and both times I've been able to get my manicure and pedicure done simultaneously (both slow times). They have a large selection of polish colors and also do Shellac, which in my opinion, is far better than the OPI gel. I'm not sure if it's because they are new, but they really do pamper you. Both my pedicures and manicures have included extensive massages. They also give you a massage while you are drying. The pedicure includes a hot stone massage. If you are looking for a quick and dirty mani-pedi, this is not the place. While this salon is a bit more expensive than I usually spend, it is definitely worth the money if you want a bit of relaxation and pampering. read more

This nail salon is far better than any other salon I've been to (I've had a hard time going anywhere else which is tough since i live 2 hours from Philly)....the staff does an incredible job taking their time to make sure your mani/pedi comes out perfectly plus the back massage when you are done is amazing. The hot stone massage you get during the mani/pedi is very relaxing as well. I brought my young (8 yo) cousin once and they were so attentive to her and made her day. Also, this salon is VERY clean with NO odors you may typically find in nail salons. I saw the great reviews here and they did not disappoint. I made an appt for 3 people (1 was a 3 yr old toddler) and the experience was awesome. They were so welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in until the second we left. I was surprised with how well they took care of my niece as she was so young and had never experienced the art of a pedicure. They took their time in figuring out how to make sure they modified the situation so that she'd get the entire experience in the best way for her little self and she couldn't have been more excited about it all. One star for thorough removal of previous gel and cuticles, but my goal was a manicure for an event. However,  I ending up spending more money than usual for a standard gel manicure and being very disappointed. I will need to have it redone after my flight.   The polish doesn't cover the whole nail on a single one of my fingers. It looks like my nails have been growing for two weeks! Unfortunately, I couldn't see well enough in the salon to realize how poor the manicure was.  Additionally, I had to ask for a third coat and there was no moisturizer or massage. I am assuming that was because I asked for the third coat.  I complained later when I realized how awful it was and Cozy Nails offered to change the polish, but I don't have time before going out of town (which is why I was getting my nails done).  I requested a 50% refund; I am willing to pay for the gel removal, but that offer was ignored.  Recommendations: ask for price upfront, ask what the price includes and double-check the polish.  This was definitely not a case of less is more, but rather a case of buyer beware. read more

Came here for the first time recently. I can't say enough about how friendly the staff was. I made an appt and was seated right away. I chose my gel-nail color and the ladies made excellent suggestions as they didn't have the exact color I was looking for. I was hoping for a larger selection of gel polish colors and glitter choices as those are pretty trendy right now but they had the basics. The manicure was EXCELLENT. My manicurist paid EXTREME attention to detail which I greatly appreciate. I HATE when I leave the salon and realize that I still have cuticles and the polish is missing from the corners of your nails. With that being said, do not go to this salon if you are in a hurry because they really do a thorough job and that takes extra time. Took about an hour for a gel manicure. Manicure also included a short back massage which was nice. Gel Nail manicure price = $35 which I thought was fair and I tipped her 7 dollars. I will absolutely come here again, here are my pros and cons. Cozy nails is absolutely my favorite place to get a pedicure. The staff is always so warm and friendly, I always feel at home as soon as I walk through the door. I usually get my pedicures here because once you've had one here it's just doesn't make sense to go anywhere else. They are all about the massage and pampering. I've been to salons across the eastern seaboard and Cozy Nails is my favorite! I'm so lucky to have an amazing salon a block from my apartment. The girls are always incredibly friendly and flexible. $40 for a mani pedi, and the pedicure is THE WORKS. My feet feel amazing. The shop is super super clean, and they don't do anything with acrylics in the ship so it doesn't have that acrid chemical smell, it's very comfortable. I usually go in twice a month for a gel french manicure, with a beige base and I get a million compliments from friends and coworkers on how beautiful and perfect my manicure is. Even the employees in the back made the effort to come out and address me by name. They made me feel so welcome. Not to mention, my nails look amazing! I tried cozy nails for the first time today and was impressed. They were very friendly, the salon is clean, they took me right back, and I got a good manicure for a reasonable price. The regular manicure was $15 plus an additional $5 to remove the gel manicure I already had. Gel manicures there are $38, but they give a small discount for cash. They also give you a really great neck and back massage while your nails are drying, it was actually one of the best neck and back massages I've had in a while. My only potential con is that they just pulled tools out of the drawer instead of from some sort of cleaning area. Nothing indicated that they cleaned their tools in between uses but I can't say for sure. I would definitely go back. read more
