Best fajitas in Houston. The handmade Tortillas take it up a Notch. The onions are are point and chicken is juicy and tender. Beef is the only thing that could improve. I ordered off the lunch menu and had the La Plaza and a margarita (frozen with no salt). The Margarita was fine, smooth and tasty. The La Plaza is a hard beef taco, a cheese enchilada with gravy, refried beans, & rice. The cost for the lunch plate was $11. The plate came out and frankly I was disappointed. The taco was quite small, perhaps one if the smallest I have ever seen. Note to Owners....this is not Lilaputia, this is Houston, the home of BIG food. The enchilada had very little cheese in it, it was more of a corn tortilla with sauce. I could tell all of the ingredients were fresh and tasty (nice gravy on the enchilada), but size and execution was very poor, especially for an $11 plate! read more

Three good things about this Ninfa's: staff is friendly, margaritas are good and their green sauce is tasty. Didn't care for the refried beans, had no taste to them. The chicken flauta was a little dry. Nothing was outstanding on the food so I would probably check out the other mexican food options in the area before returning here. read more

The one star rating entitled "Eek! Methinks not" is a great way of summarizing how we now feel about Ninfa's at this location. A house margarita = real cheap tequila, three tacos, rice and beans were equal in taste to Taco Bell but the cost was around $15! I ordered a ground beef enchilada, thinking it should be amazing since Texas has amazing beef...it was obviously in a steamer for a good few hours, scorching hot and the sauce that was poured over it was burnt. Yes and I paid almost $5 just for that! Lupe's Tortilla is the place to go. Don't waste your time nor money. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant of all time. The staff here is family everything is consistent. Great people , great food , great environment. A lot of my friends like it here too the portion sizes are huge so you never leave hungry! All of the other Mexican restaurants in the energy corridor are grungy inside and will make you worry. Been to the original ninfa's in the city and in sugar land. This place was way different and much worse. Different menu and quality. Pros: + good service + clean Cons: - I just ate fajitas and feel like throwing up - salsa more like Ragu pasta sauce - enchiladas went untouched...looked and tasted microwaved - kids burger was clearly a frozen patty...and burned...returned for something else It's sad because people are nice there. However ninfa's has a reputation and this place is a big hit to that reputation. read more

I don't usually leave bad reviews but I feel like I have to this time! It breaks my heart to say that this place has completely gone down hill!!! My parents worked here for years when I was a kid, family and family friends work/used to work here for YEARS when I was a teenager and now an adult. We do not visit as often since we moved further away. Today was extremely disappointing!!! They do not serve the Camarones Acapulco anymore (the MAIN reason family and I went there tonight). After FINALLY deciding what to eat, the fajitas are definitely NOT mouth watering the way it was for years. Everything is still expensive which was NOT a problem when the quality was incredible! Drinks are great in flavor BUT expensive as somehow the class got smaller in size. Sorry for the long essay but do not recommend this place UNLESS they change all ingredients back to their original ingredients. This place is apparently the oldest and the most authentic Mexican restaurants in the City. I have to agree to that. The service and servers were so warm and friendly that I almost felt I was sitting in a friends house for lunch. Great menu and maybe a bit pricy but worth every bit. Tortilla made fresh - we ordered jalapeño margaritas v spicy and some pork carnitas and it was hands down the best mean ever. One portion is good for two. Fried pork with salsa and the works - you can't go wrong with that. Loved it and hope to go back soon. read more

My family has lived in the area and gone to this location since I was born(20 years) and have never had such a bad experience as to what occurred last night. My mother ordered a half order of nachos and they brought out a full order, and all I wanted was just a plate of chicken fajita meat with no rice or beans or any sides that usually come with fajitas. They ended up charging us for the full order of nachos even though we sent it back because they got it wrong and charged me for a full order of fajitas even though I didn't get any of the sides that come with it. We spoke with the manager and he said there was nothing he could do and was very cold towards us. His name is Chris. How come we have to get overcharged for something we didn't order. Management is awful at this location and incredibly rude. My family will not be returning. read more

Chance N. You were absolutely right. Treated horrible. My server basically belittled me because I came in in sweats and there was a table next to me where it was business men in suits. I guess he figured because I wasn't properly dressed he wasn't going to get a good tip so he took forever to come over when ordering. When ordering I asked him a few questions about the menu and everything came back in a cocky condescending monotone voice. I will never come back here. I read some of the reviews and took a chance anyways. The chips tasted stale and cold and this restaurant is nothing like when I was younger. We had a party of 3. The place was pretty empty. The waiter came and took our drink orders and left. A big group came after us. The waiter forgot about us and went to get the drink orders for the group. He even took their food orders EVEN THOUGH WE WERE THERE FIRST! Went to Ninfa's this afternoon on the way home from running some errands - very nice option for Mexican food. Food - I had a tamale plate with brisket chile that was very tasty. It was served incredibly quickly. The chips and Salsa that was provided was also very nice (especially the green Salsa. Service - Excellent - very attentive. I spilled my margarita and not only was it cleaned up fast but he provided me a free replacement. read more

This Ninfa's has the name but is not the same. Recipes have changed. Tough flour tortillas, watered down green sauce with sour cream, salsa is boring , chicken fajita meat poached then placed on a hot griddle pan for marks. Really not Mama Ninfa's. Sad to say this. I usually love the food here so my family came out for an evening of texmex. It was not busy in our section when our waiter took our drink order, only one other table of two. Then he dissapeared for 10 minutes, but showed up when a large group of 10 was seated next to us. He took their drink order, dissapeared again for another 10 minutes. Returned with their drinks, then proceeded to take all of their food orders. He eventually came over to take our order, but only took my son and husbands order to share the fajita special. He then walked away from our table. He did not even ask me what I wanted to order. We just got up and left. I was terribly dissapointed. Food was okay, servers were talking among themselves and paying less attention to patrons, margarita was below average!

Today I will have to give Ninfa's a 3 star review. I literally just left there, and got home (don't live far). My hubby and I were ready to dip our chips ONLY to discover that most of the chips are stale. Not good. Not good at all, but the rest of the order is on point. read more
