I go here every time I am in Durango. The nachos are loaded and delicious. If you have any room leftover try one of their delicious coconut chocolate cookie bars. Awesome place! read more

Cute little Mexican restaurant on the Main Street. They have so many options for salsa! I usually get a veggie burrito or nachos (to die for)! Best Mexican in Durango and not to pricey! Lovely service and nice little place inside! read more

Wow! Their sign says Famous Margaritas, which I highly suspected but they turned out to be hand made, great drinks for $4.50. We had the nachos and chicken tacos which were excellent. Try their sauces. Great! And, if it looks crowded, don't worry, they have a large sitting area out back. read more

I liked the chicken taco but not a big fan of the veggie. Their quesadilla, guac and margaritas were really good too. They have a beautiful back patio where you can eat. I recommend. read more

Kid friendly, good quality food, decent value considering high traffic location, huge nachos and burritos. My only "complaint" is that they need to add an IPA to their bottle list. Ska Mexican Logger w lime good tho. read more

Awesome food and service! Owners are very friendly and had a fun sense of humor. Had homemade guac, chicken tacos, fish tacos with mango salsa...all were stand out. Great outdoor patio and local beer selection. read more

The food might be good but we'll never know. Website said they are open every day. Front door of restaurant after walking several blocks on a Sunday to get there said otherwise. We weren't the only ones peering through the door wondering why they weren't open when the website said they were. I guess "Every Day" to them means "Never on a Sunday". read more

Food is delicious. Salsa's are fantastic. Service is always good. Oh and margarita, yummo! Patio is so nice to sit for a spell. read more

Nini's Taqueria - Cheese quesadilla with mango habanero salsa! - Mexican Near Me - Durango, Colorado

See all

My husband and I had just arrived to Durango and were looking for a place to eat dinner, we walked around and decided to stop at Nini's! It was about 8pm and we were starving! My husband ordered a chicken quesadilla with guacamole and pico de Gallo and I ordered the nachos with black beans, sour cream, and their mango habanero salsa. The staff was very friendly and the gentleman told us about their patio out back and we decided to sit outside to enjoy the weather. He brought us our food and we were ready to dig in! My husband loved his quesadillas and he's a quesadilla connoisseur. My nachos were pretty good but I do wish they would have had more to them. They were kinda plain but that was my fault, I should have asked to have some onions, pico, to give them more flavor. The mango habanero salsa was not spicy like I figured it would be since it was under their hot selection. I definitely would have loved more of a kick but it was still good. We enjoyed our meal and the patio! As we were walking out we noticed they were cleaning and realized that they actually close at 8 pm but still served us! It was very gracious of them and we did feel really bad once we realized. If you're in Durango give them a try! read more

My sister and I went here tonight because it's eight around the corner from the theatre we were going to. We were the only 2 people ordering, and they still managed to mess up our 2 burritos. The 2 boys had to ask the same questions about 3 times. They kept forgetting what we said, "wait, did you say you wanted black beans?" "Uuuuh, did you say lime cilantro rice?" The burritos were $10 a piece, had no veggies in them, no lettuce, cabbage, pico de gallo... and by the time you get to the end, it's so soggy! If you're looking for a good burrito for a good price and great customer service, go to Zia's- it's waaaaaay better. read more

We stopped in here for lunch mid-week on vacation and absolutely loved it. The service was helpful and friendly, and the food was delicious. They do their nachos the right way by spreading out the chips so every bite is exactly the same. My favorite though was their margarita. I ordered it on the rocks with salt and it was fantastic. It was so good that we came back later in the week for a couple more. read more

I love the Carne Asada Quesadillas! The food here is great, and it is a perfect place to eat if you are low on time. The service is quick and consistently good. I have never had a bad experience here! read more

Great lunch today! Very friendly staff. Had the carnitas taco with mango habenero salsa which was hot and awesome. I also had a chicken taco with the tomatillo salsa which was also excellent and a lot more on the mold side. Inexpensive and quick. Will definitely visit again the next time I am in town. read more

Nini's is just ok, definitely not as good as Zia Taqueria. The best thing going for it is the convenience of the downtown location. Also has nice outdoor seating in the back. read more

Great food for a low price. Nachos were awesome and the small ordered filled the two of us! Staff was friendly, helpful and service was fast! read more

Great place, best quesadilla in town! always fast service and I love Ferdinand inspired decor/theme. Keep up the good work !

3 stars because the staff was very friendly and very helpful. But the food, not so good. Shredded lettuce tasted old and the chicken tasted weird. Maybe it was just me but i wouldnt recommend. The beans, cheese n the chips were good. Maybe i should've got nachos instead :( read more

If I have a couple extra minutes to park and eat while in Durango, this is the place I like to go to. It's not very large on the inside, but for me its all about the food and the food here is awesome. It's a fairly simple menu that doesn't overwhelm you with options and what they do offer they do very well. I am a really big fan of their chicken burritos and I LOVE their homemade salsas. Totally awesome. read more

Excellent burritos, tacos and nachos. Amazing selection of sauces as well. Staff is always friendly. I come here often for lunch and never leave in satisfied. Best deal has to be the nachos. The small is plenty for two people. read more

Great little gem recommended to us by locals! Chicken quesadillas with mango lime salsa were fantastic, as were the carnitas (blue shell) tacos with the same salsa. The World's best margarita was true to it's name! We are outside on the lovely and private patio-the weather today is almost perfect (82), so the patio was wonderful! Highly recommend Nini's!!! read more

I moved to Durango in 2002, and shortly thereafter discovered Nini's. Every Friday if i'm in town, I can't wait for lunch for my usual 3 taco's. One chicken with mango lime salsa, one beef with chipotle salsa and one pork with roasted serrano salsa, just typing it makes me want to go get some. Everyone from out of town that I've taken to Nini's always wants to go back read more

Nini's has great food and service. The portions are big, especially the nachos. It is locally owned and chances are the owners with the great smile will be building your burrito. read more

Visiting in Durango, our kids took us here. I had an excellent burrito (a bit like a Chipotle type burrito, but possibly better) with truly outstanding habanero mango salza. Don't order this unless you like hot (which I do). Small, not fancy, but downtown close to everything. Very nice. read more

Loved the service, loved the food. Quick, tasty and healthy. Mango Salsa rocked (washed down with Blueberry Beer!). Went twice this week, will be back again. read more

Great place for a quick bite! Chicken tacos with mango salsa were among the best I've ever had. The four women inside were super friendly and got our complicated order for the five of us just right! Awesome stuff! read more

Yep, they've got the typical faster fare Mexican food. Flavorful and your choice of heat via homemade salsas. Definitely a stop to make while you're in Durango. read more

I love Nini's! Everything that's I've tried there has been absolutely delicious! Not only is their food A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, but the owners really care about their little mountain town. They're very charitable to local non-profits and try to help out when they can! Keep it up Nini's! read more

My favorite fast, healthy meal in Durango. I love the pulled pork tacos (not greasy, just right) and their tomatillo and mango-jalepeno salsa. My boyfriends quesadilla was soooo good. The owner and all employees are very nice. Tip: They have outdoor seating and an additional indoor dining area down the hall on the left. read more

I eat here weekly. Love the food. Service usually fine, though best when owner is there. Not today. Walked in with a friend, no one else there. 2 guys took our 2 orders. I ordered one taco. He had 3 options to remember. He asked 3 times & got it wrong. Looked & acted high. Legal, but shouldn't be tolerated in the work place. read more

Nini's offers some of the best food value in town. Their mango habanero salsa is world-class, as are most of their homemade salsas, nine in all. The burritos are huge and full of fresh ingredients. The tacos are excellent and fairly priced, and come on homemade blue corn tortillas. These tacos blow away Zia's, in my opinion, though Zia's is also a great place. The owner, Andy, named the place after his daughter, and that sort of family feel is in evidence. The staff are usually laughing and in a good mood, always a good sign. There are plenty of places here in town where we pay too much for mediocre food. Nini's is one of the few where I feel like I'm not paying tourist prices for tourist-grade food. Fine, fresh food at a fair price: it ain't common in town, and Nini's is one of the best at it. read more

Worst fish tacos I have ever had. Cold, flavorless, tortillas like cardboard, ..., bleah. The fish had no flavor, possibly because the portion was so small. The pico de gallo salso was also pretty bad. I gently complained and was met with blank stares and, after an awkward moment, an offer of a replacement. The replacement chicken tacos with tomatillo salsa were flavorful, but the tortillas were still cold and cardboard-like. They need to heat them up more before serving them. My father's salad was equally bad -- just a pile of lettuce with cheese and salsa. Bottom line: poor food, apathetic service. read more

Regular burrito is massive and delicious, definitely worth the price! I called in, they told me it'd be ready in 5 minutes which was spot on. The employees are very friendly, I was greeted and helped immediately then on my way to enjoy my lunch! read more

While in Durango for a spot of fly fishing gave my lunch direction to good old Yelp to find some of the best Tacos In town with some friends. We weren't let down with a taste test of meats and hot sauces. An appropriate margarita on the rocks topped the meal and we left full, satisfied with our choice, and rightfully boozed. Enjoy. read more

I've eaten a ton of fish tacos/ burritos in my travels and Nini's makes the Best fish burrito by far! AND Nini's makes TEN different salsas from scratch! AND awesome treats for desert! Be sure to save room for their Mexican Chocolate chip cookie or their Mexi- Cali Bar. read more

Pretty good food, quick and easy, and we've been eating here for years. One thing that has never changed however, is that if you order within an hour of Nini's closing, you should expect that the college-aged staff will be irritated. Extremely irritated is closer to being accurate in fact. The food will be sloppy, they will take all of your dishes away, and even one time- we were pushed out to the patio so they could close indoors (this was still 20 minutes from their closing time of 8:00). I too work at a restaurant and understand the desire to start closing duties early, but each time we've experienced this poor service too early on in the evening at Ninis. In short, eat here only for lunch- or better yet, just go to Zia's. read more

Great service. Great portions. Great people. AMAZING salsa (definitely check out the mango). Had on a road trip through Durango - in and out in twenty minutes has never felt so good. Family friendly establishment. read more

Delicious, fresh tacos, burritos and nachos. Very casual and cozy. The 9 salsas are made in house. I love the seasonal (not always available) pineapple pico with the shredded beef on a blue corn tortilla. Cookies are made in house too. The coconut bars are to die for. read more

Fresh mex made to made-to-order. My favorite is anything with their barbacoa. A local's favorite for years. Locally owned.
