    Cheese Crisp

I would give a 4.5 if I could. We had called and asked if we could hold a table for 13 and they said yes. We had said 6:30 but when we got there they said we had said 7. Regardless, we were seated around 7:30. We were also not at one table though they put us at 2 booths right next to each other. Despite that hiccup, the food was worth the wait. The margaritas were on point as well. Large selection! We had the queso fundido and it wasn't as stringy as I'm used to but it was still good. A few of the items we got were the cheese crisp, tacos, chills relleno, and tamales. Everyone was happy with their food choices. You should check them out.

Came here since we were craving Mexican food on our road trip and based on reviews thought it would be a great pick. We got seated within 5 minutes of our arrival. This appears to be a home converted into a restaurant. It's cute and the Frida theme throughout the restaurant is a nice touch. Tables are closely placed to be able to accommodate more people so don't expect your conversation to be private. We could hear all the conversations loud and clear as if we were at the same table. Food wise my son got the burger and fries from the kids menu. He loved it. The fries were delicious and crispy. We also ordered the quesadilla. That was very greasy and the grease was dripping everywhere and messy. The carne asada burrito was ok. I had the combo with the taco, tamale, and cheese enchilada. Everything was delicious except for the cheese enchilada. The cheese was already hard by the time I bit into it so it was hard to cut up and chew. I am used to cheese enchiladas being cheesy and melted. Service was excellent. They always made sure we had everything we needed and was quick. When the server messed up on my taco order he brought out the correct taco without me having to tell him it was the wrong type and said it was his mistake and wasn't going to charge for the correct taco. Overall 4 stars because it is a bit noisy. Food was good. Excellent service. Service definitely makes an ok experience better.

Not the best Mexican restaurant I've tried, but pretty solid for small town Durango! My giant guava margarita was light and refreshing and the juvenal's shrimp hit the spot! There's ample indoor and outdoor seating. They don't take reservations, so first come first serve, but there were lots of empty tables when we dined at 8pm on a Saturday. If u're in the mood for some Mexican food, Frida's is the spot!

The ambiance was on point. The Mecheladas were refreshing and flavorful. The grilled cheese was decent. The shrimp were very tasty. The enchiladas were very filling, and the fajitas weren't bad. Food came out decently fast. Service was fine. Overall good food.

We had a really nice experience at this busy restaurant. The outdoor seating was perfect for a late May evening, and the service was friendly and efficient, especially from our server Lorna. The mole (two different dishes) was really good, with a nice spicy kick, and the other things we ate were delicious as well. We aren't in Durango too often, but we definitely plan to be back when we return.

Free basket of chips and salsa. $5.00 If you decide to order another basket. It was our first time here. We gave it a five star. Service & ambiance was 10/10. Food was delicious and margaritas were on point. Will recommend and come back.

Conveniently located on Main it's casual, comfortable and family friendly. We walked over from the La Plata County Faigrounds. Chips, salsa and coleslaw were excellent and bottomless. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. All our food was hot, tasty and beautifully presented. It's budget friendly too! We will return.

Being from Phoenix, we've eaten at a lot of really great Mexican restaurants... my husband said his entree was possibly the best he's ever had! (a steak & shrimp burrito with enchilada sauce) I had a crispy shredded beef taco and it was also up there, flavor wise! After a few days of brewery food, we needed a change of cuisine, but did not expect that Mexican food in Colorado would end up being our favorite meal in Durango! First bowl of chips & salsa are on the house, and delish. We had a team of a couple servers and they were both super helpful with both cocktail and food recommendations. We love a good cheese crisp, and we were surprised to see one on the menu. It was smaller than what you'd get in AZ, but pretty good. Kids bean & cheese burrito was yummy, too. The hostess fist bumped my kids as we entered. We love a good vibe! All the Frida (& Selena!) decor was so fun and festive, even down to the tabletops, menus and restrooms. We will definitely go back next time we visit Durango!

However, we had gone on its closing day and had some great tacos, salad, and ramen. Their birria is rich and meaty with a touch of cinnamon and was awesome as a ramen and taco. Service was efficient and drinks were cold. Guess I'm just writing this to keep my Yelp numbers up...

If you are a lover of well done birria, this is your place. Craving authentic Mexican food? Yep, this is your place. We started with their chips and salsa. I think you can tell a lot by the salsa at a place. Lemme just say, I was so very happy! Their salsa wasn't too chunky, not too thin and they are not afraid to season and add some heat - but hey, don't worry it wasn't too hot if you've got a dad like mine who isn't a fan of "too much spice." Such a good omen. I couldn't decide which marg to try so ordered a flight. Best decision ever. Even as I write this, I'm still hard pressed to choose a favorite. They were all so good. Add street tacos, quesadillas for my mom, elote cob, and switch fries for my dad and we were all happy campers. The flavors were obscenely good. Staff were amazing and stopped by to make sure we were always taken care of: fast and friendly. Best combo ever. The place is also super cute! Loved the bar and simplicity of the concept. Switchback has a quiet elegance while be so very casual. Perfect in my book.
