While traveling, we stopped in with my family. It. Was. Busy. But a short wait, given the crowd. All our entrees were delicious - tacos al pastor, chicken enchiladas, kids' tacos, etc. And the red sauce on the enchiladas was among the best I have ever had: sweetness of tomatoes, spiciness of the chiles, and plenty of it, too. Just a quick heads-up: If you're not from the West, the salsa will likely be a little spicier than you're used to. Ours was. I would give a 4.5 if I could. We had called and asked if we could hold a table for 13 and they said yes. We had said 6:30 but when we got there they said we had said 7. Regardless, we were seated around 7:30. We were also not at one table though they put us at 2 booths right next to each other. Despite that hiccup, the food was worth the wait. The margaritas were on point as well. Large selection! We had the queso fundido and it wasn't as stringy as I'm used to but it was still good. Came here since we were craving Mexican food on our road trip and based on reviews thought it would be a great pick. We got seated within 5 minutes of our arrival. This appears to be a home converted into a restaurant. It's cute and the Frida theme throughout the restaurant is a nice touch. Tables are closely placed to be able to accommodate more people so don't expect your conversation to be private. We could hear all the conversations loud and clear as if we were at the same table. Food wise my son got the burger and fries from the kids menu. He loved it. The fries were delicious and crispy. We also ordered the quesadilla. That was very greasy and the grease was dripping everywhere and messy. The carne asada burrito was ok. I had the combo with the taco, tamale, and cheese enchilada. Everything was delicious except for the cheese enchilada. The cheese was already hard by the time I bit into it so it was hard to cut up and chew. I am used to cheese enchiladas being cheesy and melted. Service was excellent. They always made sure we had everything we needed and was quick. When the server messed up on my taco order he brought out the correct taco without me having to tell him it was the wrong type and said it was his mistake and wasn't going to charge for the correct taco. Overall 4 stars because it is a bit noisy. Food was good. Excellent service. Service definitely makes an ok experience better. read more

Not the best Mexican restaurant I've tried, but pretty solid for small town Durango! My giant guava margarita was light and refreshing and the juvenal's shrimp hit the spot! There's ample indoor and outdoor seating. They don't take reservations, so first come first serve, but there were lots of empty tables when we dined at 8pm on a Saturday. The mole (two different dishes) was really good, with a nice spicy kick, and the other things we ate were delicious as well. We visited on Cinco de Mayo. The restaurant was very lively. There was a small bar area outside. We were seated very quickly. We had a party of 6 so that was nice. The server took ours orders quickly and food was delivered with a minimal wait. The food was tasty and margaritas good. read more

I received my Margarita and then asked if we could place our order which we did, and the waiter said my friends drink was on it's way, Her drink did not come until our meal arrived. Mole was very runny, bland, and far from having complex prep. or flavor. The so called baked chicken breast that came with it was in pieces and most likely off the Sisco delivery truck, frozen, then thawed. Being from Phoenix, we've eaten at a lot of really great Mexican restaurants... my husband said his entree was possibly the best he's ever had! (a steak & shrimp burrito with enchilada sauce) I had a crispy shredded beef taco and it was also up there, flavor wise! After a few days of brewery food, we needed a change of cuisine, but did not expect that Mexican food in Colorado would end up being our favorite meal in Durango! First bowl of chips & salsa are on the house, and delish. We had a team of a couple servers and they were both super helpful with both cocktail and food recommendations. We love a good cheese crisp, and we were surprised to see one on the menu. It was smaller than what you'd get in AZ, but pretty good. Kids bean & cheese burrito was yummy, too. The hostess fist bumped my kids as we entered. We love a good vibe! All the Frida (& Selena!) decor was so fun and festive, even down to the tabletops, menus and restrooms. We tried this Mexican restaurant on our first visit to Tucson. Four of us had dinner there two of us ordered drinks from the bar, which were very good and on point. The staff was friendly and efficient, and they brought us complementary nachos and actually make the salsa fresh at your table . Three of us came for a late dinner about a week ago, and they were able to seat us almost immediately. Fun place with nice decor, but pretty loud which makes it hard to carry on a conversation. The chips and salsa were wonderful, plentiful and eased the wait for our dinners. Everyone raved about their meal. I had the chile relleno nogada (see photo) which I have also ordered at several other restaurants, but this is the best version I've had. Excellent service, clean tile floors, cute decor, and delicious food. It's no wonder this place has a 4.7 rating. We went twice in a week when driving to and from Colorado through Durango. The service is very good with multiple people checking on you and delivering orders, checking on the meal, filling water, getting more chips etc. When I ordered the wrong drink thinking it was on the rocks and it came out frozen they replaced it with a different one, no extra charge and no attitude on their end as if I was putting them out. The menu is quite extensive and all of the flavors are very solid. If you're in Durango, you should definitely try it. read more

What a great treat we stumbled on in Durango. Food, service, and kindness was over the top. We walked over a mile to this restaurant and tried to get an Uber to take us back to our hotel but none were available. This was our best meal in Durango. We sat outside on a lovely September evening. Our mezcalitos were delicious but very potent. My mole enchiladas were wonderful -- it's great to get real homemade mole. My companion ordered shrimp, chicken, and mahi-mahi tacos and loved them.
