Went here on 6/10/26. First time here. We got there about 1130 and we were the first ones in the building but it did pick up while we were there. The staff was so friendly and attentive. Third time eating here. The first two times were fine---food was good as was the service. Last week on Father's Day ate there and had horrible service. Asked for water twice and never even received any. Asked for more paper napkins twice and finally got some. Served by a young waiter who took forever to take my order and get the water, etc.. Was he swamped? No, he had a lot of time to hang out at the bar and gab. Left only a small tip rather than my usual 20%. Don't believe in rewarding crappy service. Wait staff was efficient and friendly. I had the hacienda chica with a ground beef tostada and my hubby had the el pastor taco plate. Both were excellent. Warning. The food was delicious. My family and I enjoyed the food, the environment was really nice and place was really clean. We were seated as we walked in.. Chips & Salsa and a small dish of Mexican slaw... delicious. Very extensive menu.. many choices... I settled on the Seafood Tostada... and it was really delicious... Shrimp, scallops, octopus, peppers, onions with sides of guacamole, creama, and Pico..What a dish... wish I could find this in my local Mexican restaurants in Denver... We were in Durango for my aunt's funeral, and this was her favorite Mexican restaurant, so as a tribute to her, we had dinner there. This is a wonderful restaurant. Plenty of seating, great service, and great quality food. It's standard-fare Mexican food, but it's done well. I had a grilled chicken salad. (yeah, I know, a chicken salad at a Mexican restaurant). It was a very generous portion of chicken. Quite good if you want a salad. Everyone else had Mexican food and loved it. My sister had a Marguerita and loved that, too! It was a great way to pay a little tribute to my aunt. She was super cool and I can see why she loved eating here so much! read more

This was our second time going to La Hacienda. Both meals were excellent. Portions are large, ate half for lunch today. First time I had the Chili Colorado and it was delicious. Went hunting for tamales because my 8 year old ago was craving them and came across this restaurant. Great service and huge menu. We started with guacamole and chips. Which was really good. I got the chicken enchiladas. My. Kiddo got the tamale combo. The food was good could have maybe used a little more seasoning. The one thing that threw me off was the temp of the plates versus the food. The plates we scalding got but the actual food was tepid at best. Horchata was yummy and quite a bit of cinnamon . The salsa with chips was pretty good. The margarita was good. I ordered a chicken. a taquito...could not eat it. The taste was weird and the deep fried tortilla was soft and not a tortilla. I ended up with 1 taco which was ok. My husband ordered quesso beef fundido. There were way too many big pieces of onion and who ever puts mushrooms in Mexican food? He was also disappointed. We will not go back Our server was very nice and prompt. That's the only positive. read more

We stopped in after a long day of driving from Arizona. Looked like a great place and the parking lot was full, which is a good sign. Promptly seated in the bar , we ordered chicken enchiladas and a Chile verde plate which were out of this world! The chips and salsa are great and the service impeccable as the food! And it comes out quick! Margaritas were being made ranchera music in the background, great food, great time and where the locals go! Give it a shot! read more

Finally stopped in for dinner. Whenever we pass there are cars at this restaurant, and we have wanted to try it. Three of us enjoyed our dinner, two had fajitas... the shrimp and mushroom had 8 good sized shrimp and a yummy pile of mushroom, onions and red & green peppers. The combo plate my husband ordered was huge and he was very happy with the 3 item combo. We would come back! The margaritas looked good, but we didn't have one this time, maybe next time.
