They are located in a strip, so there is plenty of parking. My husband asked if our pups could be with us on the patio in their pup stroller and we were told we could. They were tired from the day and zipped into their stroller so they could only see out the front and had a cozy bed where they were soon snoozing fitfully. We were seated in their patio area which is shaded by solar panels. So cool! We soon had waters, chips and salsa and our menus to decide. The salsa had a wonderful hit of heat. The staff was welcoming and helpful. We placed our orders. My daughter chose two Camarones tacos that had grilled shrimp, corn tortilla, lettuce, onions, cilantro and salsa. She also got one Carne Asada taco that had grilled beef, corn tortilla, lettuce, onions, cilantro and salsa. She said the meat was delicious and the toppings were super fresh. My husband chose the Fajita Taco Salad with chicken, the salad had onions, peppers, beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. He really liked the crunchy shell and the salad was tasty. I chose the L.A. Quesabirria Tacos. It came with 3 tacos on corn tortillas and consumé for dipping. Very cute place. Sat right away and our server Sadler ask about drinks. Got them and ask if we were ready and we were we order our food and an appetizer, he even ask if was an appetizer and we said yes. He came with a plate of food which was mine. Dropped it off and left then a few minutes later he brought out the appetizer mango ahi tuna ceviche but no chips. And left so I have my food and an appetizer but my wife has nothing. About 9 minutes later my wife gets her food and finally got to ask for chips. Food was decent but not hot even my wife's. Looked on the app to find this has high reviews for a Mexican restaurant in Durango. I usually go to tequila's, but thought I would give this place a try got in and got a table very fast lively atmosphere and servers are very prompt and attentive. I ordered the burrito Asada Christmas style so I could try the red chili and the green chili And it comes with rice and beans. By far in all my travels was this the worst Mexican food I've ever had. They use pre shredded cheese. So it doesn't melt completely. The red sauce I can't even explain it. I want to say it's like they're salsa which the salsa is not bad but not smothered on a burrito. The green chili is more a tomatillo base which is OK but had an offputting taste for some reason the tortilla even tasted bad And I love tortillas. The meat was chewy and had no flavor. Everything needed salt. The rice was planned and almost had a sour taste to it, which doesn't make sense because the place had a lot of people in there so everything should have been fresh. I hate writing reviews about food that is this bad but somebody has to. I gave two stars only because the people were nice. It was a good atmosphere. read more

I would do 4.5 stars. This was excellent Mexican food. We had the carne asada/shrimp tampequenas. Huge portions. Not just slapped together - this was well crafted with great flavor. I got halved avocados (shrimp ceviche) for appetizer and it was also great. Their house margarita wasn't too syrupy/sugary (which grosses me out) so I had two. We will be back for sure. read more

Nayarit is our new go-to place for Mexican food. We ate there for the first time tonight. Very reasonable prices and excellent service. Pleasant atmosphere. The food was outstanding. I had the ground beef tacos. The tortilla shells were fresh made, and fried up right then for my order. We also had the Queso Fundido. Very rich and plentiful. First visit. Ordered 2 margaritas, both house frozen Ice. paid $32 and got frozen lime water Instead. Asked bartender if there was any lime juice in it and she said 1 ounce in each. Tasted as if no alcohol in them at all. Left the restaurant after 2 sips. Worst margaritas ever. read more

This used to be the only Mexican joint in Durango where I'd dine but my last two orders were done wrong and were not good at all. I ordered a take away with the bartender and although I encouraged him to write down our order which was only special because I prefer extra beans and no rice. The guy appeared to write it down but it didn't happen on either entree which were wrong in another matter too. Their salsa is all heat and no flavour and so although they don't give you any in take away order and Nayarit's food just doesn't seem to be what it used to be during the last decade. For food PLEASE try the pollo à la crema, the tampiquena, or the al pastor tacos with the pineapple sauce. If you're looking to share get the molcajete truly picture worthy. read more

This business just moved to this new location just south of town. It's newly decorated in typical Mexican restaurant items and colors. Being Sunday evening we were greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress was helpful guiding us on the most popular items. It's not the normal refried beans and rice with some type of meat wrapped in a tortilla. They have a lot of seafood based dishes that looked very good. We stuck with tacos and enchiladas. The tacos had real sliced beef and the enchiladas had shredded chicken. Both very good. The seafood dishes looked interesting but we decided to stick with what we know. I would say it's a step above the typical Tex-Mex restaurant. I would recommend this establishment. read more

We went on a Wednesday night and sat at the bar. We had great service. They give you complimentary chips and salsa. They are fresh and tasty. I had three street tacos- carne asada, al pastor, and shredded beef. All were very good and served on top homemade corn tortillas. My friend had the carnitas! They are amazing. Really good Mexican! Freshly made! There is a bar and lots of comfy booths. To start drinks are large, you get complimentary warm chips n salsa. I tried the chicken fajitas that came with rice and beans with hand made tortillas, so good! Also had the chicken burrito, sorry to repeat myself but really good. Last we had churros for dessert, also fresh. Yum, yum, yum. Only down was it is not located in downtown Durango. Best ground beef taco I have ever had! I cannot even explain how delicious this restaurant was! The nachos were delicious and the tacos were marvelous. The crispy taco shell is the way to go. The crunchy mixed with the spices of the chopped ground beef with the splash of lime melts and mixes marvelously in your mouth! The outside atmosphere is very colorful with a nice outside sitting area. The inside continues the colorful side of the restaurant with innovative photography on the walls. The service was very quick with friendly and kind staff members. We had the the most amazing dish for two served in a flaming hot lava bowl. It's called Molcajete de Mariscos. As a former 3 Michelin star chef, I HIGHLY recommend Nayarit.
