My son has been getting his hair cut here for almost 3 years! He has loved every cut that he has received. He even goes in with a special design each time and the barber never fails to come through!! Nino's, ha. Should be called nono's. I went in yesterday for a hair cut and my barber botched my haircut. I have no idea how the hell something like this happens. Asked for a 1 on the back and sides with squared back and sides. I get that. Check. Now for the top, I tell him I wake up and brush my hair and go. No gel or water, no nothing. He says okay. It looks fine, then he tells me that the back needs to be cut and I say it looks fine as is and he says " no no it needs to be cut " and I give in and I say go for it. He certainly went for it. I've been to this place only 3 times and the third time was definitely a charm, if I could rate it no stars I would. Do not advise if you like you hair. read more

First off I was not overwhelmed by my first cut here a couple of months ago, but was determined to give them a second shot since I work locally. Secondly - they charge $4 more for an appointment than for a walk-in, which shows a complete ignorance of basic economics, but they justify it by saying you will not have to wait around. Well, despite all this I made an appointment. I showed up for the same guy as my first visit to give him a chance and was told I'd have to wait! What? So, I gave them 5 minutes, and he didn't seem even close to being ready for me, and showed no concern or urgency whatsoever. I was a regular at Anthony's Barbershop in Sacramento but I was in need for an appointment for a straight razor shave on the day of my wedding. Nino hooked it up and Cory did a great job on my shave. I was so impressed that I went back there a month later to get a cut. The guys remembered me from the time before and asked about my wedding and honeymoon. After the cut, Cory finished it off by cleaning around my ears and neck with a straight razor and hot shave lather. He ended the cut by placing a hot towel over my head and styling my new do. Great place and I love that it's a local spot where I can go. Only $14 too which was great. I will continue to give them my business and I will recommend them to anyone who needs a cut. read more

If Yelp would let me use 0-star rating I would here. This review comes a bit late it's my step father's experience this past summer (2017). He is a senior citizen and (of Spanish descent). My mother wanted to take him to a local barbershop in hopes of getting a more one on one experience that usually a shop such as this "Should" provide. My mother even made an appointment. So he shows up for the assigned appointment on time was told to have a seat and was ignored for the next hour. Not only are you charged more for an "appointment" he was never kept updated as to why the delay, just chatter from everyone. So here are my thoughts if this is how you treat your seniors I feel bad for seniors around you. I can't even begin to speak on a haircut because he never got one he finally got up asked when was he to be seen and ended up walking out. As a resident of Dixon and have owned a local business here this is not how you treat folks!!!! Can't say enough good things about this barber. I have a special needs son with autism. I called Nino to ask if he could accommodate my 5 year old with autism. He was super nice on the phone and made me feel comfortable with booking with him. He's worked with special needs kids before. From the minute we walked in Nino was so understanding of the needs my son had. Especially due to noise and being sensitive to loud sounds. He allowed my son to listen to how quiet the clippers were, he was able to touch them as well. Nino explained everything to him every step of the way. He even turned on nick jr on the tv for him. I am staying in Dixon for just a few months and needed a place to get a haircut, I could not have found a better place than Nino's. Nino was my barber and he took the time to make sure he knew exactly how I wanted my hair cut before he started in. Once I was sat I felt like I was talking to an old friend, he was very friendly and easy to talk to. I just received my second cut in over seven weeks (admittedly going longer than I should have) and he still remembered the conversation we had from the first time we met. He still cut my hair with the same skill and professionalism as he did the first time. Nah, just save yourself the trouble. Took a solid hour to give me a pretty mediocre haircut, then charged me $25 for it. Used a foil shaver. Apparently they charge more for appointments but the owner was telling me they don't take walk ins so I didn't even know that was an option. All in all this shop is a victim of its own arrogance. Dude set me back weeks when all I wanted was a quick clean up. I'd give it another shot if it was like a $15 cut but for $25 I have too many other options so, won't be back. read more

Not very happy with my haircut. Took forever and he scraped the hell outta my scalp with the electric razor. I've broken out in a rash which has never happened before. Cut my bangs waaaaay to short. Used to go to The Barber Shop in Dixon but started getting poor quality haircuts. I noticed they weren't taking pride anymore in the cut. This place opened up and Nino and Corey make it an art and take pride in what they do. I've let them go new style cuts and old style cuts and they did not disappoint! I recommend making an appointment. If you don't your gonna wait, but if you want quality it's worth the wait.
