Best Indian food in the area!! The restaurant is immaculately clean and the service was top notch . I have had real Indian food before and this is as an authentic as I have seen. The spices are well balanced, the ingredients fresh, and the taste is wonderful.

2nd time here. Again, so delicious!! Give them a try. Great service. They do not skimp on shrimp in the biryani or tender morsels of lamb.

This place is so consistent! Recently tried the Lamb Roganjosh and it was fabulous! Loads of flavor, lamb perfectly cooked & so much sauce to dip my garlic naan in *drool*. I order the Butter Chicken every time I order and it tastes exactly the same each time.. delicious!

two bowls of food on a table

Food Is a 10-10 except for the waiter kept on refilling my water when it was half full. He said "How is it" about 10 times. Also the bathroom was dirty and the soap felt weird after using it. I got the orange chick garlic nan and Something I can't pronounce. I Recommend coming here.

Update: Please ask about their rice since so many people have told me about cow milk being in it. Not sure if they have addressed it. No one would even think to ask about that. Who puts milk in rice? === This new place was formerly East Wok, right beside Walmart in the same shopping center as Thaiwat. They have completely redone the interior, so the inside is now a real restaurant rather than a takeout place, though they do a TON of takeout. There is more vegan on the menu than the two other Indian places in town, hurray! I am surprised that they are so close to Laxmi's, but I think Berks County can support a few Indian restaurants. They are open daily with a lunch buffet. The large vegetarian menu is about one-third vegan, including some new dishes we had not seen before, like spinach and potatoes. Very friendly service. Not too many vegan appetizers, so I wish they would mark them and add more. We had the fried cauliflower, and it was delicious. We will get the grilled mushrooms next time. Since the pakoras are not vegan here, how are they made vegan at Laxmi's, hmmm? For some reason, I liked that the papadum were in little circles like chips, which is easier to eat. The green mint sauce here is made without yogurt, the owner said. This is the second or third location. Make sure to grab a menu for the coupons inside.

The atmosphere is a bit more upscale than your average diner--everything was impeccably clean, and the ambiance was very pleasant. My friends both opted for the "All You Can Eat Buffet," which I understand is what this place is famous for (especially on weekends!). Their plates were packed, and the fact that they both went back for seconds speaks for itself--they loved it. I went with the Norway Benedict, and I was honestly blown away. It featured two perfectly poached eggs and smoked salmon on English muffins with a very generous serving of Hollandaise sauce, accompanied by a side of home-fried potatoes. The presentation was beautiful, the taste was excellent, and I truly can't think of a single thing that would have improved the dish. Service Highlights: * Attentive Staff: Our server was great--present when we needed drink refills but never intrusive. * Efficiency: They were quick to clear empty plates rather than letting them sit on the table, which we really appreciated. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Went back again after a 5-star-worthy visit the first time!…read more Once again this place blew me away! This time I went with my mom and her boyfriend and we all loved the food and left with our bellies full! Our server was very attentive to us, kept our drinks filled, cleared our table of dirty plates quickly, and didn't make us feel rushed or pressured at all. We were disappointed to see that there was no soft shell crab, honey-coconut shrimp, or egg custard dim sum (all of which were present during my first visit and I was looking forward to) but given how wonderful everything else was, it wasn't a big deal The building was still crowded even though we went on a Tuesday evening, but I hear on weekends the line can be out the door so in comparison to that it sounds like we avoided most of the crowd. There were consistently workers keeping the food stocked and the building clean aswell. Despite the mild disappointment of my second visit, I'll still be returning and continuing to recommend this place to friends and family :)

Lobsters and crabs were abundant. I learned about this place awhile ago from YouTube of which many gave praises. We frequented many mid level AYCE places like this and we've found that as time goes by, quality degrades with restaurants like this. Now there was a rather long length of time between discovering this place on YouTube and actually visiting this place. I wonder if the praises that were sung about this place were still valid. I would say yes. As previously mentioned, lobsters and crabs were abundant and makes it worth the trip on that alone. As for the other offerings, it was mostly surprisingly good. Don't expect Michelin quality food here. Generally, it's about the quantity BUT the food is pretty good. The sushi/sashimi shocked me a little. AYCE sushi is usually just passable but here, I thought it was pretty good. Everyone in my group loved the quality of the salmon. Other offerings, of which there were many, were pretty good. Standouts were the lamb chops in my opinion. Dessert options wasn't as extensive as the other AYCE places I've frequented but they do the job. Aside from the usual fountain soda options (serves by the restaurant staff) , they had a few fruit drinks and a milk tea option as well as some specialty drinks in a can. Scale 1 to 5. (Keep in mind that this is based on quality you'd expect from a typical AYCE restaurant. Food 5 (large selection of food and that shellfish!) Service 5 (Friendly staff and were pretty efficient in clearing the plates) Cleanliness 4 (Place was well kept. Deducted 1 star due to the stickiness of the floor around our table which reminded me of a movie theater floor... lol) Value 5 One con to point out. The restaurant was rather large yet the bathrooms were small and couldn't accommodate a lot of people at once. Not a huge quibble as the wait wasn't astronomical BUT it did seem odd that the size of the bathroom didn't match the size of the restaurant.

This location is certainly gargantuan size for dinning hall, buffet counters and queuing for payment and waiting for table. The line moves moderately for payment and waiting for a table. There are some benches available for customers who are mobility impaired unable to stand for long times. Senior citizen and children discounts are available. My party experienced authentic Pennsylvania Dutch cooking. It was an experience with an open-mind without judgment. Dinner prices for one adult range $23.99 to $33.99 depending on the time of day, meal, and day of the week. Tax and a 12% service fee are additional, but beverages and desserts are included. I did obtain my sales receipt. The sales receipt is attached to a blue slip which upon meal completion customers are to turn over signaling table clean-up. Shady Maple Smorgasbord offers a 20% discount coupon for their nearby gift shop during meal payment. This 20% discount coupon, my party gladly utilized which is a very good marketing promotion to lure customers. Restroom facilities are large with a restroom lounge. The facilities' sink is very modern as it is an "all-in-one" sink golden faucet mechanism: L (soap), middle (water), R (hand dryer). Ergo, no excess soap is dripped on the sink counter for clean-up and no water will be spilled or splattered on the floor. I have never seen this modern sink faucet. I think it is a modern convenience innovation for progress with technology always improving. The food quality is good and the selection is gargantuan. I wished there were more meat opinions as Ribeye which contains the most flavorful cut of beef. Hanger steak is my default favorite. I also wished for more seafood opinions as shrimp, salmon, Tilapia or striped bass fishes. The vegetables were a good selection. I like the baby carrots which were boiled cooked soft and fresh. The red onions were extremely strong. I wished for Caesar salad lettuce as my default vegetable, but iceberg lettuce was substituted which did not agreed with my stomach. I did not see chicken. There were abundant baked potato of red skin and hash browns. I highly prefer potato au gratin, but to no avail. I was hoping for ice cream as dessert, but to no avail either. Nota Bene: Shady Maple Smorgasbord is family oriented style, ergo do not expect any alcohol. Lemonade, root beer, cola, soda, ice tea, coffee, hot tea, cold water and hot water are abundantly available as beverages. Disappointedly there is no ginger ale soda available as a beverage option which would greatly reduce my anxiety and motion sickness of being in a car for four continuous hours on the road driving. Shady Maple Smorgasbord also has a gargantuan gift shop adjacent on the grounds. This gift shop is old school traditional where tourists and non-Pennsylvanians (like myself) can purchase key chains, post cards, magnets, and T-shirts. Parking is abundantly available and free. Upon exiting our car the air had a high functioning stench of horse manure to heaven! The noisome odor emanating from the nearby unseen horse stables made it difficult for my party to enjoy the grounds, amid the dangerous excessive heat wave of Independence Day 2026 holiday weekend. We were among the Amish in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

We've come here before, and the prices were far cheaper and the food was far better. This morning, at 10:20, we came in for breakfast. We got our food and we ate for about 15 minutes talking and enjoying breakfast. By the time we went up for more food, the one section had already switched to lunch, and the other section was empty with all the food on the cart. Since the breakfast food was being taken away, we got more food but from the lunch section since that all that was left. However, our waitress came over a few minutes later and told us we would be charged for lunch prices, which is $7 more per person. We explained that we came in during breakfast and mostly had breakfast food, and the only reason we took from the lunch menu was because all the breakfast food had been taken away. The waitress tried to say that since we took lunch items that we had to be charged the lunch prices, even though she hadn't said anything when we got there. Another woman, who I'm assuming was the manager came over, told us that we would have to be charged the lunch prices. We then explained the situation again. She proceeded to tell us that the breakfast food had just been put on the carts and we could've just taken from there. EXCUSE ME? I work in a restaurant. That is totally unacceptable and unsanitary. Who goes to a buffet and takes food that is put on a cart? That's disgusting and should be reported. No wonder this place was so empty. They're charging Shady Maples prices with quality of food that wouldn't even compete against Golden Corral's. I will never come back here again and recommend to everyone that I know to do the same. This place is terrible, and so overpriced. We overpaid and left still hungry.
