The public bus arrives every (2) minutes and are often full. It is approximately .50 US to go 30 miles downtown. Just looking at the creative ideas a child could write a book . "This ain't Tijuana". The malls and beaches are protected by federal soldiers and the streets have checkpoints every mile. They obtain your information and destination. If something is off a militia is on alert. In NOLA people go missing all the time. They get discovered weeks later. Would never happen in Mexico . A drunk guy might get out the box, but it is very controlled. These citizens are: smart, efficient, implemented, hard working, drive excellent, fast, diligent, and gracious. It's like walking through a museum. Being from a popular tourist town known for food, this place is VERY advanced. Instead of lounging and hiding these citizens WORK to pass the time. If you need anything just ask a bartender. We visited there one evening and have the best time and service! This isn't the same restaurant where you go to breakfast but at night is a Spanish tapas restaurant. Everything was fantastic but all the food on the property is really great! We especially loved to order lunch by the pool. All the cocktails are fantastic, even poolside! Rooms are standard JW with some of them recently updated with the others on their way to being updated. Yes, there is a sort of a musty smell in the air, but that's in most hotels. It's a very hard to keep those highly humid rooms from smelling a little musty. You just have to get over it and enjoy the time outside the room. Pools are super cute and the beach area is nice. There is an adult pool that is open during the day but wish it was open later! Lots of places in walking distance if you decide to venture out of the property but why would you need to! Easy drive from the airport and to the downtown or for departure to Isla Mujeres. Pros and cons to this. Pros - not as busy, plenty of seating/beach chairs, quiet resort, easy access to airport and if going out of the hotel zone, large spacious rooms (I had two queens beds with ample space), in room fridge, friendly staff Cons - limited walkable activities (shopping, food, entertainment), older property, only 2 on property restaurants open in the evening limiting dimmed options, communication with guest services is via phone, had to checkout at the front desk no folio delivery to room or app checkout, more seaweed on beach than others (property didn't address until my departure date), pools were super warm like bath water so not refreshing, not enough toiletries in room Check-in process was quick as I arrived early around 11am and was shocked I got access to the room. This definitely was unexpected. Room was huge and had a beautiful ocean view. The window was a bit janky however I was able to get it opened to feel and smell the ocean air. You could tell the property was dated just in the finished and wear on the room. Lighting also was challenging due to the size at night. While on property felt safe and relaxing as there were other guests but no one was on top of one another. Got to try out breakfast (decent, the made to order omelette and eggs were great) there were some rotating items as well. Oatmeal was a different consistency each day soooo not sure whose doing that. Service was hit and miss. First day seat on own and took about 10 before someone asked about coffee. Second day got sat and service right away. Third day sat self and service right away. Their market -Palmer did not have sandwiches nor real food sooo that was a bit disappointing. Snacks, beverages and a few swim essentials were available. I did not have housekeeping service so I can't speak on that. The room was clean however and ample towels. The shower shampoo/conditioner/body wash were the big bottles and smells amazing. The shower was pretty small and turning around hitting the cold was would def wake you up. Shower pressure was amazing and controlling the temps tire once you got the mix right was good. The hot handle got super hot, had to use a wet washcloth to turn off. Not sure how that's not a safety hazard I really enjoyed the 'fake' sky lights in the bathroom gave a nice touch so it wasn't too dark. Property overall was in good condition and you could see the wear on the outside due to the climate. Overall nothing bad at the property but def needs some investment to improve the condition.

Due to having a suite, we had butlers Romero and Isaías, and they were both AMAZING. They were extremely attentive, and whatever we needed was never an issue. If we asked for something, it was done quickly and without hesitation. You honestly couldn't ask for better service. We also had access to the Aqua Club, which was open from 7 AM-10 PM and offered premium liquor along with light snacks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The waiters there--Daniel, Guillermo, and Eduardo--were great! They were even willing to make us our favorite shots that they had never heard of (blowjobs... Google it ), but they made them anyway! The lounge itself is super relaxing, with spectacular ocean views from the 5th floor. Now, onto the part we ALL care about the most: THE FOOD! There are several restaurants on the property to choose from, but our absolute favorite was Hidden Garden, which is Asian-inspired and run by Chef Mario. Everything we ordered was spectacular! Chef Mario even came out to our table, greeted us personally, and provided us with a menu curated by him--which I'm assuming was because it was my birthday... lol. They also have one paid restaurant called Carnivore, which is a steakhouse. Now, I am a self-proclaimed steakhouse snob, so I have to keep it real: for the price, it was mid. But for a resort steakhouse, it was good. The rest of the food throughout the resort was WAAYYYY better than expected--even the poolside grill and the food you can order directly to your cabana. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ribs they made at the poolside grill every day were FANTASTIC! The head of culinary at the resort, Mr. Germain, is definitely doing what needs to be done because the food was consistently impressive throughout the property. Now, the second-most important thing for most people: NIGHTLIFE. Personally, I came to relax, and the overall vibe of the resort definitely gives relaxation. However, they do have a nightclub called Egos, which stays open until 1 AM. I went once, but it wasn't really my music or my vibe. If you're looking for more of a nightlife scene, I would suggest heading into the city. BUTTTT... if you love a good pool party, make sure you hit the Moët Pool Party because BABYYYYYY... it was LIT! We booked a club-level oceanfront room, which included butler service. Our butler, Arturo, absolutely came through for us. He handled our restaurant and cabana reservations ahead of time and was instrumental in securing a late check-out on our final day. The dining at this all-inclusive is superb. For breakfast, Siete offers a decent buffet, and our waiter, Helvert, was incredibly kind and always took the time to chat with us. For dinner, DB was our top choice for elegant continental dining, complete with a live pianist. The manager, Susana, provided excellent service, the food was delicious, and the chef even came out to greet us. We also loved Hidden Gardens, a relaxed Asian-fusion spot with tasty food, impeccable service, and another welcome visit from the chef. During the sweltering day, the pool is the main draw. Lalo was always helpful in securing our requested cabana. They cost an extra $115 each time, but they are completely worth it to escape the intense sun. Our pool waitress, Marysol, befriended us and knew exactly what non-alcoholic drinks to bring us. My wife is a big coffee drinker, so we frequently stopped by the included Starbucks, where David the barista gave excellent service and loved chatting with me about World Cup soccer. Also, a big shoutout goes out to Lady and Daisy at the spa. They gave my wife and I heavenly massages. However, the absolute heart of the entire hotel is Marco, the extraordinary juicer at Siete! Even their checking in to say they were running late would have been better than not hearing at all. The family room we stayed In was a nice layout with one king bedroom for us and one kids room and 1.5 baths. It was a good amount of square feet. The concerns we had were also quickly and efficiently fixed too like the shower rain head not working, needing a mattress topper, and needing more water. The follow up communication was lacking again though in that they never confirmed they did anything. The property is pretty spaced out so they have golf carts for about 10 people at a time going back and forth almost every 10 min or so. They are very nice and accommodating of strollers and little kids, of which there are a lot. The kids clubs go from 4 months all the way up and the staff were friendly and very professional particularly Melaria. I heard one of the kids clubs rooms had an air conditioning problem when we were there but our kids weren't impacted. The kids also go out and about doing things so they aren't in the rooms much. We thought the food was much better than in club med punta Cana. The avocado and guacamole were fresh and good. The food overall often was too salted, but good quality. We also really enjoyed the poolside fresh seafood ceviche and guacamole. The espanola specialty restaurant also makes a great burger. Their skirt steak is kind of oily and fatty. The red snapper isn't fileted which was disappointing. We overall preferred going to the hacienda buffet style. Top picks were the birria cheese quesadillas, the paella, the omelet station, and the baby station with 3 purée options per meal. They always at every meal too had kid friendly options of cereal, chicken nuggets, burgers, fries which my son really liked. The salmon was good but too buttery. The coffee games was fun but too French focused to be a fair fight lol the aerobics instructor was great- friendly, upbeat, energetic, approachable. The cocktail making class was also great and I loved getting a recipe for a mezcal old fashioned I brought home! The sparking wine class was terrible. The guy had attitude when I asked about it and claimed it was an educational class not a tasting and only let us try one bottle when we were all inclusive. It just seemed really cheap and his not knowing English very well was distracting. I was also disappointed that the one sailing instructor was really rude and even though the posted hours are 9-12 and 2-4, he told us at 9:45 we had to come back the next day because they started the class at 9:30 when that wasn't posted anywhere. While the archery guy was super nice and caught us up just fine. The snorkeling guy was also really nice but beware - you go by yourself or whoever you're with and I encountered a stingray! Luckily I swam away but still, no one is there to help you in the water. The resort and pools and bars are beautiful though currently under construction. We did a few classes in la bodega and really enjoyed ourselves and meeting people there. It was also fun figuring out all the different things our drink options included, like frozen cappuccino, mezcal cocktails, Mayan liqueur, frozen mojitos, frozen margaritas, etc. We overall really enjoyed our vacation but do wish some of this stuff had been more spelled out so we didn't have to learn as we went. Somethings were wayyy too salty, or were over cooked or undercooked (crunchy risotto - no thanks!) but most food items were pretty good - amazing skirt steak and great shrimp! There's tons of variety of food so you won't get bored. The beaches did have a lot of sargassum when we went but they did a great job keeping the north beach and taco arte beaches clear. There's a playground, splash pad/waterpark with some water slides, playground for kids (though mainly for older kids and it does get hot in the sun), a nice big pool with bar/snacks, water sports, pickleball courts, archery, mini golf, trapeze and trampoline, and other sports. The rooms were a bit dated. We noticed our mirror had a big chunk missing on the top right corner, the bed sheets looked worn and thinning in some areas and our balcony door wouldn't lock (luckily they sent maintenance to fix it asap). They have various kids club for different ages run by teachers which is great for parents to be able to drop off and go do other things. Overall, we enjoyed our time at club med. Lots of activities, lots of diversity of food and lots of drinks.

We arrived late and asked for bottled water, and were told to just drink the sink water... in Mexico. That alone set the tone. I also repeatedly emailed our concierge for assistance and received no response whatsoever. Our room smelled like mold, and the sheets were damp. Housekeeping replaced them, but the odor and overall condition never improved. Not what you expect at this level. Then it got worse. We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.
