I love their hot & sour soup ( so glad I found a place that prepares it the way I like it ). Their Kung Pao, chicken chow mein, and sesame balls - under their appetizers - were yummy. Ordered delivery from Grubhub. I ordered the chicken chowmein and sesame chicken. The chowmein had lots of chicken breast but hardly any vegetables. The sesame chicken came with a small box of white rice. It wasn't too sweet and not greasy. The price wasn't too expensive. Delivery, for my area, cost a little over $2 with a minimum of $12, and came pretty quickly. The delivery guy was polite. The food is cooked and prepared well, and is usually hot and tasty. Delivery is always in a timely fashion. The delivery person is always fast, polite and efficient. The food is always securely in the bags, which are then stapled shut. It's all very well done for delivery. My only complaint is that I asked for four chopsticks to be included with the order, and they keep failing to include them. That is a royal pain in the you-know-where, which is why I withheld one star. UPDATE: Chopsticks always included now. Food still good and tasty. No complaints. I have a favorite Chinese restaurant in downtown Los Angeles that I have patronized for over twenty-five years, and No. 1 Chef is my new go-to if I can't get downtown. I'm gradually working my way through the menu, and so far my favorites are Chicken Chow Fun, Wor Wonton Soup, Shrimp & Chicken Egg Rolls, Pot Stickers, Vegetable Egg Foo Young, Shrimp Fried Rice, and my absolute favorite, Vegetable Tofu. Other family favorites are Brocolli Beef, Chicken Fried Rice, and Szechuan Shrimp. I recommend that you order online for delivery or takeout. My only wish is that they expand their delivery area. Pros: The food is fresh, and the dishes are absolutely delicious. Even the soy sauce is of a higher quality than most. If I review, I was impressed! I can never find Egg Foo Young prepared old school style, you know real egg omelette the way it should be not that preformed over cooked hockey puck. Not only prepared to perfection, but the sauce on the side and hot as if it came off the stove from my own kitchen. I ordered online from the Website button option from my smart phone search. Nastiest fake food I have ever eaten. Big ginormous msg filled imitation noodles that look like they soaked up too much water. Thia tea is in a can! Like come on seriously. An egg rolls are so big like they injected them with hormones. If they were good it would be amazing but they're so high because they're so fake and unauthentic it's ridiculous tried to charge me 1$ per sweet and sour sauce extra when they know the egg rolls are way too big. I ordered the half order of Broccoli Beef and Orange Chicken; Shrimp Fried Rice, and Vegetarian Egg Rolls. Everything I ordered was hot and fresh. The broccoli and beef were tender and the brown sauce was seasoned perfectly. The rice was tender and I had plenty of medium-sized shrimp throughout. The chicken was tender, but the batter was a little too heavy, but it was okay- the orange sauce had just the right amount of sweetness. The egg rolls needed more vegetables but they were good too. I'm single and I love good food - I had enough for 3 plates! Now, that I've tried the basics, I'll try some of their other spicer dishes. Highly recommended. read more

We ordered because my in-laws are always on the lookout for the perfect (read similar-to-their-favorite-place-that-closed) egg fu young, and the picture here looked about right. Unfortunately, the food was NOTHING like the picture. I could have lived with that though, if the "food" wasn't so terrible. Don't get me wrong - I wasn't expecting really great food from a random 3-star Chinese delivery place. I was expecting average food. But I did not get average food. I did not get somewhat-below-average food. I got so-fucking-bad-it-made-me-angry food. I am actually, viscerally angry that these people took my money and then served me this crap. I'm not super picky, and definitely not the kind of person who throws away food. I might be a bit disappointed, but I've never received takeout food that was so bad I didn't eat it before. So when I say 85% of this order ended up in the trash that really means something coming from me. I could write all night about how bad this food is, but I'll just hit a few of the highlights. First, the "Golden Fried Scallops" This was so bad I uploaded a picture. That's not a golden fried scallop - it's a 1/16 inch slice of scallop the size of a nickel (if it even is scallop) pressed into a huge blob of fried cornbready substance. If you can believe it, the basic cheat of serving me a piece of scallop the size of a nickel wasn't actually the low point of this appetizer. The low point would be that they served it to me in breading that was also terrible. It was very dry, powdery, rock hard, and tasted like unseasoned burnt cornmeal. When I was 9 I tried to make cornbread by mixing water (not enough) and corn meal (only) and "frying" it on a dry pan until it took on the consistency of a small rock. That was the last time I tasted anything like this. Seriously, how do you fuck up breading? Second, words like "Kung Pao", and "Szechuan" actually mean something. They imply specific ingredients and cooking methods. Again, I wasn't expecting the food to be great, and every restaurant does things their own way, but at least the food should be recognizable as what you ordered. I ordered three, very distinct dishes, and the fact that I can't really tell which is which is a major problem for me. Every dish is just a pile of random, chopped, apparently steamed(!) vegetables smothered in a brown sauce (the same brown sauce on all three dishes!) that has basically zero taste. One has an egg pancake under it, so I can guess it's egg fu young. Another has lighter colored "meat" and a few dried peppers, so it must be the "Kung Pao Chicken". By process of elimination that means the third must be the "Szechuan Beef" All three have the same vegetables, all three are covered in the same brown sauce, all three smell the same (like basically nothing), and all three taste the same (like basically nothing) and I can't tell the difference and that's sad. Third, their meat seems faker even than your average cheap takeout fare. Not just the usual "highly-processed meat-strips from a bag" that you'd get in your average takeout, but more like "100% processed fake-meat garbage from a can". I would bet very heavily that their "beef" and "chicken" come with a list of ingredients as long as my arm and most of them aren't "beef" or "chicken". Fourth, FAKE GODDAMN SOY-SAUCE. I know this is common, but I still - this was a $70 meal and they can't give me a half-cent packet of real soysauce? I guess this food deserves hydrolyzed corn protein with caramel color. Fifth, the fried rice really wasn't. It was steamed rice with some soy sauce (or hydrolyzed corn protein and caramel color) on it. read more

Folks, these people are total amateurs. I ordered Szechuan beef and let me tell you, there was nothing Szechuan about it. Szechuan beef is sauteed in oil with Szechuan peppers and carrots. It seems like they threw the kitchen sink in it except the very important Szechuan peppers. The end result was this sweet soup with beef, carrots, zucchini, 2 types of mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and a couple of other things. It was practically swimming in 2 inches of liquid with no sign of oil. Now let's talk about the rice. You either serve steamed rice or fried rice. What they served pretended to be fried rice but it was not. It was yesterday's steamed rice soaked in soy sauce. Come on, is that the best you can do? I ordered the eggplant tofu, shrimp in lobster sauce lunch, and 3meat kung pao lunch. I love this place! The food arrived fresh and hot. The lunches came with an egg roll, fried wonton, and soup. Usually fried rice is dry from Chinese take out spots but this was flavorful and a bit moist. The shrimps were huge, juicy pieces. I definitely would recommend this place for delivery. read more

Okay so I found this place on Eat24 ordered the food and waited. I placed my order at 1:21 pm and the app have me a 2:16 delivery time which was perfect because I had to get my daughter ready for her nap...door came at 1:54pm....the guy who delivered the food was very rude...he knocked on the for like 15 times and it was ridiculously loud then he shoved a pen and paper at me which I signed but If You don't want to deliver good in the rain then make your store a pick up only store...the food was not good at all ordered the chicken wontons which was all wonton no chicken....and I ordered chicken egg foo yunvor whatever it's called which was a soup with my foo parties at the bottom which completely disintegrated into the soup which was supposed to be a gravy for the party....anyways I won't be ordering from this place EVER again.... read more
