It was our first time trying Lucky Bamboo! It was also our first time ordering items individually instead of combo plates like I'm used to, but overall it was a good experience. We ordered the orange chicken, kung pao chicken, and chow mein. In my opinion, the chow mein could have had more flavor, and the kung pao chicken wasn't spicy at all. The chicken itself wasn't my favorite, but I did enjoy the veggies and peanuts. My favorite dish by far was the orange chicken it was a 5/5 for me. Super crunchy and delicious. Giving this a new score of 2 stars. Sad to do this since I truly appreciate the kind and hard working service, but the truth has to be told. I decided to try the Mongolian beef for the first time. BIG MISTAKE! Couldn't even force myself to eat a second piece because the meat tasted like a mushy substitute of what meat should be, and it smelled awful. So sad. The chow mein was ok. Noodles were a bit softer than normal chow mein should be, and there was hardly any flavor. I tasted more old oil than anything else tbh. The only upside to our meal were the fried wontons and the orange chicken which was decent. Nothing was great, and for that reason I unfortunately will not be returning. The workers were very kind and very helpful, and our food came quickly. The place was also very clean. However, the tofu with garlic sauce had no garlic flavor, or really any other flavor for that matter. The Mongolian beef was also pretty mediocre. Still love the food here after so many years! Their chicken chow mein and orange chicken has the best flavor and aroma. I also personally love how their menu is on the cashier countertop so it's super easy to read if you have bad eyesight. They are always friendly and remind you credit cards pay an additional fee. There is only 2 tables for 2 inside if you would like to eat here, and 1 wheelchair accessible table. Also most notable thing I found out today - they now accept Apple Pay! I've been ordering from Lucky Bamboo for the last few years when I was eating vegetarian/vegan. We always got the tofu with spicy salt and broccoli with the fried rice upgrade, or the Singapore noodles with the curry and garlic only (no meat or veggies). The food was always delicious and consistent and great portions. Later on when I started eating meat again, I didn't order as much. But their shrimp with spicy salt is good as is the pork and beef fried rice. The wonton soup is good. The only issue I have is that while I love dark meat chicken, when it comes to chicken and broccoli (which is my go to), I prefer white meat. So I avoid ordering chicken dishes from them. The menu is a bit limited compared to other Chinese restaurants, but they get a pass for the quality of the food that they do offer. Also, they are a "to go" only. No dining in. Wellll, based on my lunch special sweet and sour chicken, I'd say 4 stars is pushing it. Both my order and the orange chicken were pretty standard. My wife's shrimp with lobster sauce had a good authentic flavor though. I don't want to judge them solely on the lunch specials. I'll have a more accurate opinion after ordering from the main menu next time. The lunch combos are very inexpensive and come with won tons, an egg roll and your choice of steamed or fried rice. Fried rice was rather bland and needed some additional soy sauce. The portions are quite generous. Parking is not a problem with a large lot for the strip mall. Service was polite and prompt. So for now, I'll give them a 4 even though it was realistically 3 1/2. Hopefully my next experience will be a TRUE 4. Time will tell. read more

The lady who took our order over the phone was nice and helpful. She repeated our order so nothings was missed. The ambiance of the restaurant was clean. They only had a couple of tables available for those who want to eat inside. We ordered to go and enjoyed our meal with family. Love to support small family business and this one definitely has ours! There was white steamed rice that came with the sesame chicken that we ended up saving for another day since we had our attention on the bbq pork fried rice. The sesame chicken was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Just perfect! Also came with broccoli which was a nice surprise. The combination chow fun has shrimp, beef, and chicken all in one, for a price that isn't too much higher from the single-protein chow fun. Totally worth it if you like all three! This family run restaurant is tucked away in a older strip mall on Hawthorne and Rosecrans Boulevard's. The portions are very large with top quality ingredients. We had won ton soup and vegetable spring rolls for starters. The sweet and sour shrimp was loaded with large pieces of succulent shrimp. The beef and snow peas, and the pork chowmein dish were both fantastic. Everything was so fresh and delicious that you might think everything was picked from a garden this afternoon. Huge portions great taste and very friendly. We got the broccoli beef, chow fun and Mongolian beef. She said the Mongolian beef was very spicy - it was just crushed red pepper sauce that was put in a container on the side. Not super spicy fantastic taste. The chow fun wasn't our favorite but we probably should've ordered chow mein with the normal size noodles. The broccoli beef was huge pieces of both broccoli and beef and fantastic flavor as well.
