1 hour wait for delivery? Irritating, but forgivable. 4" long CLUMP of hair in my General Tsao's? Finding a new Chinese place.

General Tsao's Chicken Dinner Combination with White meat. Comes with pork fried rice.

You cook everything yourself in the broth. It's all you can eat and very tasty (provided you have chosen well for your broth and items!) On the downside: we were confused about what we were supposed to do for drinks, it seemed like the only option was bottled water and some soda cans. The bathroom floor was sticky. Not all the buffet items had appropriate tongs and spoons, so cross contamination could easily happen with people using tongs for multiple items. They made a mistake and brought one of us the wrong broth but corrected once we pointed it out. If I lived in the area I would definitely check this place out again though.

The food is cheap and not bad for price. About as good as Chinese from a strip mall can possibly be. It has the menus with all the numbers for the items. They have the usual kind of stuff. Has a few vegetarian choices. The best of these is the Bean Curd With Mushroom. It's $7.50 for a good amount. This only comes in the quart size. Along with mushrooms, it also comes with lots of broccoli. The tofu is slightly crispy. I would consider ordering from here again. It's best to get carryout. There's only a few tables inside and it's kind of sticky.

My husband went to pick up some Chinese for our lunch and he said they were super rude to him. He almost walked out but we are determined to find a to go Chinese place in Wilmington. This place is cash only and apparently the lady was particular about what he gave her (wanted more change then $10 bills). Anyway got the food and he brought it back home. Lunch special was kind of small. I got the roast pork and broccoli. There wasn't that much meat which was mostly broccoli which was disappointing. The fried rice was just okay and the broccoli tasted old. We opted to pay 75 cents more to swap our can of soda (comes with combo) to an egg roll. The egg roll was just a frozen egg roll fried in very old oil. I was starving so I doused it in sauce and ate it anyway. I also had a bit of an allergic reaction eating the egg roll so maybe I'm allergic to what's in it or the oil they fried it in. Who knows. Not returning to this place thats for sure. Maybe DE just doesn't have good Chinese food in general.

Their portions are always generous (overflowing Sweet and Sour chicken container). The spring rolls are good, the white rice is good. I tried the Singapore Mai Fun and it was awesome, though not as spicy as I would have expected. The wonton soup is good and wontons appear to be handmade. The dumplings are pretty standard fare. The fried rice is very good. The quality has been consistent and the service is always friendly. We switched from No. 1, to Red Bowl, finally to Golden Palace as our go-to Chinese restaurant. My daughter doesn't like the fried rice (too many veggies, she says), so more for the rest of us. The Chinese mustard is hot. They are currently offering only takeout (and that is all we have ever done). If you want more authentic Chinese food, you can try Chef Tan in downtown Newark, but Golden Palace fits the bill for the rest of us.

We had the following: Noodles with spicy Szechuan sauce: It was OK, not too spicy, but a large portion for an appetizer. Shrimp dumplings: Soft shrimp dumplings. Very tasty. Mapo tofu: With pork, green onions and peas. More savory than spicy, not too bad. Not at Chinatown level spice or contents. Walnut Shrimp: Decent size shrimp, walnuts and a creamy sauce. Singapore Mei Fun: It was fine. Medium spicy. Shrimp Ho Fun: Large flat noodles with shrimp. It was fine. General Tso's Tofu: In a savory sauce with broccoli. It was ok. Shrimp with snow peas and bamboo shoots: Tasty, with wood ear mushrooms. Pork loin mushrooms and snow peas: Yes, this place has a lot of snow peas. Compared to our regular place (Da Chen) with favors water chestnuts. This dish was pretty good. Parking: Can park in their shared strip mall lot, watch it backing out. Service: Food was ready when I arrived each time and service was friendly. If we tried more of their menu and liked it, I can see this going up a star. It's been fine, we've had it since we've been in the area. There is also plenty of room for dining in.

We ordered the chicken lo mein (without vegetables for my nephew), diced dry spicy chicken, xiao long bao (XLB), pan-fried Sheng Jian Bao, chicken feet, crystal shrimp dumplings, and egg tarts. The chicken lo mein was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt and flavor. The diced dry spicy chicken came with a side of rice, which balanced the bold seasoning nicely. The chicken was crispy on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside, and the spice level was around a 5/10, which is enough to give it a satisfying kick without being overwhelming. The XLB wasn't served with julienned ginger, as some restaurants do, but the broth inside the dumplings had a subtle ginger flavor that was a pleasant surprise. The dumplings were well-seasoned and flavorful enough that they didn't even need soy sauce. The pan-fried Sheng Jian Bao (five dumplings per order) was slightly less authentic than I expected. While the flavor was spot on, the filling lacked any soup, and both the top and bottom of the bao were crispy (typically just the bottom of the dumpling is pan-seared). They ended up tasting more like well-made pan-fried dumplings than traditional Sheng Jian Baos. The chicken feet came three to an order and were tender, with a savory sauce that had a hint of sweetness. The crystal shrimp dumplings were fresh and delicate, and the egg tarts made for a great way to finish the meal with their flaky crust and creamy custard filling. The service here was excellent. Our server spoke almost perfect English, which isn't always expected at restaurants specializing in authentic dim sum. The food arrived quickly, piping hot, and they accept both cash and credit cards. The restaurant is fairly spacious, though it doesn't have the large banquet-style atmosphere you might associate with some traditional Chinese restaurants. Overall, this was an excellent dim sum experience, and I will definitely come back the next time I'm in Philadelphia.
