    Chicken with Broccoli (excellent!!)
    Dan J.

Stopped by for lunch two days running! Simply put... outstanding! Chicken with broccoli and vegetables spring rolls! Vegetables spring rolls were served hot (yes, I've had too many served lukewarm at best!). Crispy and not burnt! They were a good size and filled with a nice mix of veggies. A little duck sauce with mustard and bam! Yummo! Chicken with Broccoli and white rice. Hot, fresh and tender! Was lightly coated with sauce. I like a bit more sauce, but I really enjoyed it! Flavor was nice and mild flavors. The chicken was nicely sliced chicken breast. Fresh meat, not gamey or old! Vegetables were cooked to a nice crunch. Not under, nor over done. I added chili oil and kicked up the heat! Over all, very good meal for the price and enough food! Very Clean and tidy! Only complaint was the forks were a bit wimpy and no knifes.... Keep up the great food and service!!

Came to this location for the first time (from Illinois,) following the reviews of other posters, and I have to say, we're impressed. After a brief wait time (15 minutes) and a short drive home, all items were hot and well made. My son was a bit reserved about the "spicy" orange chicken, but after his first bite, he quickly changed his opinion and lost his reservations. The portion size of Lo Mein from my dish is more than sufficient to abolish my cravings. Well done staff and clean restaurant! I'm definitely keeping this on my go to list when I return to Smyrna.

Figure we try a new place and choose this place for Friday night take out. The service was friendly and enjoyable. However the food wasn't spectacular. Now I'm not saying it was bad but for me it wasn't worth driving to the other side of town for. The food had a peculiar taste but yet bland. I guess our search for the Boro's best carry out is still open..

Good food at a reasonable price. The only bad thing is they close early on Saturday night.

A Cut Above the Monday Blues…read more The Chop House has quickly become a go-to family favorite since my folks moved to Murfreesboro, whether I'm in town visiting or they're dining on their own. The food and service consistently hit the mark, and our latest visit was no exception. I was surprised by how bustling it was for a Monday night--the place was absolutely packed! There was a party of 30 near us, plus a group of 12 right next to our table celebrating a 2-year-old's birthday. It was great seeing everyone having such a special celebration, and despite how busy the team was, we were seated and served in a very reasonable timeframe. My mother made a reservation in advance, and the team graciously accommodated her request for a booth to help with her back issues. They are always wonderfully welcoming to her 5-pound service dog, who sits quietly right beside her. Everyone--from the staff to the fellow diners--was warm and friendly, which makes the whole atmosphere even better. I usually go for the prime rib sandwich, but this time I opted for the full prime rib dinner with soup and a baked potato. It certainly did not disappoint, though it was so generous I couldn't even finish it all. As one of the nicer spots in Murfreesboro, it's a wonderful choice if you're looking to celebrate a special occasion--or just enjoy a top-tier meal.

The Chop House has to be one of the best restaurants in town. Nice interior. Great bar. Friendly…read moreand accommodating staff. The manager greeted me kindly. The food was perfect and really not even that expensive compared to my home town. I started with a nice Cabernet. I had two in fact. I did not know that Tennessee has an extra tax (LBD - 15%) on alcohol sold by the glass! I thought Republicans were all about low taxes. I also enjoyed an absolutely delicious shrimp bisque. It was really good (and only $6 for a bowl). It was smooth and flavorful. In my neighborhood that would cost $15. My entree was a daily special, yellowfin tuna. It was nicely seared on the outside and sushi grade on the inside. I could really taste the healthy Omega 3's. The fish was served on a nicely flavored bed of long grain rice. A wonderful mango salsa topped the fish. The accompanying broccoli was perfectly steamed. This was only $26. I shall return again to this great place.

I asked a few friends and locals of Murfreesboro where to go for dinner in the area…read more Four different people ALL menioned The Alley on Main, so I HAD to try it for my dinner date! They did NOT disappoint!! I am officially hooked! From the moment we walked in, I could see and feel the sheer energy coming from the crowd and the ambiance: it already felt like great food and great people. It was packed to the brim for Wine Wednesday! They had one table available for two! Our server, Sarah, was outstanding!! She was sweeter than pie and extremely attentive! She always made sure we had exactly what we wanted when we wanted it. She advised sharing a bottle of wine since we wanted the same one, and since it was half price most wines. The young manager on duty delivered and uncorked the bottle, and she was just as sweet as Sarah! Her name escapes me, but I will find out the next time I go. The Spanish Tempranillo we tried was divine! It was perfectly balanced without being too dry or too tannic or too sweet. It was so smooth and thoroughly enjoyable to drink! For food, we started with the goat cheese bruschetta. It was perfection - rich in flavor and well balanced in the distribution of each component! From there, we tried the special of Steak Tips Au Pauvre - with a peppercorn wine sauce. We chose brussels sprouts as our side, and it also came with a side salad. We weren't too hungry, so we split it. Sarah even had the kitchen split both the salad and the main dish in half for us! The salad was so fresh (with ripe grape tomatoes!!) and the ranch dressing was classic and delightful. The wine sauce was everything I wanted it to be: rich, complex, thick, and buttery. It reminded me of the beautiful sauces you find on a steak or chicken dish at a sidewalk cafe in Paris. The dessert menu looked amazing, but we didn't have any room left. All I can say is you MUST try this place!!! If you can find Sarah, even better!

We were told 35 min wait but that turned into five minutes! Excellent!…read moreEli was an incredible, knowledgeable server! Very personable! The ambience was cool! A little eclectic vibe. Comfortable w a low noise level. We started with noise salads which were very small. The dressings were very good. My wife and I both had the beef tips special (mine medium rare, hers medium well) - the meat was tough and chewy on both. She had the garlic mashed potatoes and they were excellent! I had the broccoli and it was perfectly cooked and served still hot! All in all a great first experience - made that way because of Eli our server! Thanks for a good meal and great service!
