If you met 2004-2008 Tommy, you would've been introduced to someone with long hair, destroyed vans and skate shoes, jeans hanging on by their threads, and an ipod with plenty of songs ranging from Bloc Party to Saosin. Seeing the refinement of No Comply had me smiling as it truly has a ride range of decks, bikes, clothing, shoes, and more. It's so well lit and organized and everything is easy to follow from the naked eye. The team was also super friendly which was refreshing and you can tell how much pride they have. I found a pair of white leather shoes that were on sale and I was ready to buy but sadly they didn't have my size womp womp. All the staff were very helpful and patient with our 6 and 9 year old as they picked out their first boards and assisted in assembly. I went there on a Saturday afternoon for a board grip tape add-on and it was on $7.50 with only waiting 10 mins for it. Our daughters asked for skateboards for Christmas this year and I was thrilled to find out that not only did we have a local skateshop in central Austin, but it had great reviews from people like me who know very little about skating but who had received great service from the staff at the shop. I went in today with decks that their grandma bought them online and was immediately provided friendly and professional help in selecting all the other things I needed to make them complete. They were able to put everything together for me while I waited in my car and brought them out to me when they were complete. I didn't even have to wait very long at all! I was also happy to see that they are taking COVID-19 precautions seriously and limiting the number of people in the store and requiring masks. It felt great to support my local skateshop and I can't thank the staff enough. My girls are going to be so excited when they see their boards on Christmas morning! read more

No word to the general public on how the release for a Nike SB sneaker would be handled. I showed up first in line and was told "we might have a few sizes left" by one of the employees before they opened. Didn't expect to get my size at this point but waited it out to get at least get a size up or below. When they finally opened I was then told that every pair was "on reserve" (aka backdoored) and they wouldn't sell one. Very poor communication and way of handling a release I was looking forward to. I took my son in to pick out a board for his 7th birthday. I haven't had a skateboard in 30 years and had no idea what to choose. The guy at No Comply was great! He laid out lots of options, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all the boards and components, told me price differentials, got my son excited, and was totally cool when my 4-year-old crashed boards and dropped things. She immediately began the conversation about what brings us in and how she could assist. Gave us some good info about the history of the store, the products they carry, the skate park behind the store and began helping my son design his first custom board. What a great experience!! Stevie couldn't have been more awesome! She really knows her away around the business and was incredibly patient and helpful. She really made the whole experience. Once completed, she also had some ideas of how to take our old beginner board and provide some inexpensive but much needed upgrades so that my daughter could use it to get started skating. I was in Austin recently with my band to play a few shows. We're called The Myth of Sisyphus, and we're a prog/nu-metal/hip hop/soul band. Our first ep is due out later this year, so we're pretty stoked. But yeah, so we were in Austin to play a few gigs and check out the scene and wouldn't you know it, on the second night in town one of the wheels on my razor scooter fell off and I didn't even bring an extra with me. Needless to say I was pretty bummed out because anyone who knows me knows that the Dre Man needs to get his scoot on pretty much every day or else I just don't feel right. Seriously, how many of you out there feel me on that? Anyhow, some kids at Emo's told me about the No Comply Scoot Shop and I was effin' stoked because we don't even have a Scoot Shop in San Francisco, or as I like to call it, Sucka Free City, lol! Anyways, so I went over to No Comply with Rich, our tour manager, and I was a little shocked at first because there weren't that many Razors in the shop, but what the hey? I'm open-minded and besides, I really needed a new wheel, right? So the guy behind the counter, I think his name was Elias, asks if he can help me and I'm all like, "Yeah, Broseph! I need a new wheel for the scoot, holmes!" And he just kind of looks at me all weird for a second, as if he's never seen a guy in a kilt before, right? And then he says to me, "Yeeeaaahhh, we're all sold out of Razor Scooter wheels right now. Sorry." Can you believe that? A Scoot shop sold out of scoot wheels? And after me an Rich took the tour bus all the way down there? WTF? Right? The he offered to sell me a skateboard. Like, what? A skateboard? I'm sure! What am I, like 12 years old? No way! So to make a long story short, me an Rich had to go to the Walmart to get a new scoot. But it was cool because we made it back in time for me to get a quick shred in before the show, which by the way, we totally killed it that night! Next time I go to Austin, though, I'm bringing an extra scooter. And an extra kilt. read more

I'm not a skater, so why am I giving this place 5 stars? I went here with my son to get some new wheels after finding out Union Skateboard had closed. The staff (maybe the owners) were so helpful and took time to explain a lot of things to my son & his friend and also told them to go check out the skate art in the back.I will be back but it may be to their new location that they are excited about moving too next month because apparently their new landlord is eco friendly and letting them open a little skate garden on the roof.Keep an eye out for their move in July.
