Just the average dive bar. Nothing special. I couldn't wait around for the band to play. Which may have changed my perspective. I saw them setting up. And I do think it's awesome they have free nightly jazz which is rare. Service was great, greeted as soon as I walked in. They were eager and ready to serve. The one drink I had, margarita was strong. And halfway through it no longer tasted bad and delivered a kick. If you're looking for a reasonable place with no frills in Sausalito then this is your place.

This bar is located in a touristy area of Sausalito, near the water. The venue is clean and cute with the walls randomly decorated with sports memorabilia, musician artworks, and masks. Beautiful colored lighting, a cozy patio in the back with additional seating, and a small stage in the main space, with live music between 8:30-11:00pm on a Sunday night. We enjoyed the soft sounds of Jake Soffer this past weekend, playing originals as well as covers ranging from Justin Bieber to the Beatles, on the electric guitar, with a bit of looping as well. The place had steady business during the hours of live entertainment, but was pretty empty afterward and later into the night. Finding seating was not an issue around 9pm. Can't speak for parking since it was a Sunday night and we just walked over from our hotel. Service was great, the bar staff checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Drinks were standard, decent cocktails and pretty cheap compared to other similar places. Cool bar with a laid back atmosphere. I'd recommend it, especially when they have live music.

A "touch of Sausalito family" service with Saint Hugo! The bar has a warm and welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of the close-knit community and hospitality found in Sausalito, a charming waterfront town in California.

    Super fun dude!

Do they carry NA beer? Looks like a fun spot and I need to venture out of San Rafael.

I now have a 3 wheel scooter due to my multiple sclerosis. It's been decades since I came and my memory of the layout has faded. Are there low tables? My scooter is 19.5 inches wide and 37 inches long, turns easily.

    Yes there are :)

They got pretty crowded. Definitely not for the tech bro, but if you're a Midwest menace like me, this is the place to be. I enjoyed it a lot. It was definitely locals and young crowds in our twenties, a couple of OGs. I thought it was a good vibe and would definitely come back here. Definitely on my secret spots. I don't think it's for everybody, but if you're someone who has been in the bar scene and into a Big Ten school kind of vibe, this is it.

I want our…read morelocal businesses to thrive, and I fully expected this to become a place we'd come back to regularly. Saturday afternoon, casual drinks. After a couple of beers, I was thinking about switching to a martini and playfully asked the bartender, "How are your martini skills?" That was it. Instead of taking it in the lighthearted spirit in which it was intended--or even simply saying she didn't appreciate the question--the bartender reacted as though I'd said something deeply offensive. She walked away visibly upset and refused to serve me. What made the experience particularly strange was what happened next. The other bartender came over to find out what was going on. I explained exactly what I'd said and that there was no insult or disrespect intended; I was literally just opening a conversation about ordering a martini. Rather than defusing an incredibly minor misunderstanding, she doubled down, insisted that my question was somehow inappropriate, and reinforced the refusal to serve me. At that point, I left. I've spent plenty of time in bars and restaurants, and I can't remember another experience where such an innocuous interaction was interpreted with this much hostility. People misunderstand each other sometimes. Professional hospitality means giving a customer a reasonable benefit of the doubt, communicating like an adult, and resolving a minor misunderstanding--not immediately assuming ill intent and escalating it. What concerns me most is that this wasn't one bartender having an off moment. Both bartenders independently chose escalation over hospitality, which makes me wonder whether this reflects a broader culture problem. As a new neighbor, that's especially disappointing. I genuinely want the businesses in this neighborhood to succeed. But hospitality requires a baseline level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and generosity toward customers. Based on this experience, I won't be returning.

It was a slow day, and the food didn't seem all that complicated, so I accepted. Even with no staff, John cooked me a burger, gave me some chips, and handed it off to me. The couch was soft and pillows were plush. I was initially on the fence about accepting a free meal, but I am glad now that I was welcomed into such a vibrant atmosphere. The hospitality is a big plus. The crowds can get big in the evening, so I suggest making reservations ahead of time. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge is the big highlight as well as looking at the king fishers and blue herons. I wish they would add some aquariums. Would be a nice touch.

The hostess was really nice and she said no worries we can get you a table. There was only two of us so that's probably why it wasn't a problem. We sat down and right away they brought us water to the table. Our waiter came over shortly afterwards to see if we wanted drinks. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and the smoked wings and wedge salad to start. Our wines came out right away and then our wings and salad. It was pretty quick considering they looked pretty busy. Of course the wines were delicious (Zin, Pinot Noir). The salad was pretty basic wedge but good and they made it for two which was good. The wings were cooked perfect, just enough smoke on them, and a little crispy. For our entree we ordered the Ribeye to split between us. The ribeye came out not to much later, it looked good. They also split that for us so that was really nice. The Ribeye was cooked perfect (med rare), a good grill marks on it, great seasoning on it. It came with a herb butter and some kind if dipping sauce as well. Both were really flavorful but the herb butter was the best. Also, the mini baked potato was delicious as well. The steak didn't even need any sauces because the seasoning flavor was already there. For dessert we ordered sticky toffee pudding. It was the best Sticky Toffee pudding I've ever had. I wanted to lick the plate dry. Kiudos. The service was pretty good throughtout the dinner which was nice. I thought they wouldve comped the dessert since it was my girlfriends birthday but they didn't but that's ok.

The ambiance is amazing where you can be seated on the patio or indoors at a table or at the bar. I would say that it is a bit more upscale in terms of attire that should be worn and is not casual dining. When we arrived, we were quickly seated and given time to look over the menu and hear about the day's specials. There was a great selection overall and it was a good mix of seafood and non seafood options. Service was a bit slow despite the amount of staff which is why I am removing a star, but honestly I would rank it a 4.5 if yelp gave that option. Our appetizers came out quite quickly but afterwards it took a while for the main course to come out. The staff were very nice though and were easily approachable. Of all the food that we ordered, I have to say my favorite was the burrata plate. My least favorite had to be the potatoes or Arrosto, which was unfortunate as I love to eat potatoes. It was just bland and was lacking salt. But I believe this was more of an anomaly as the rest of the food we ordered was perfect as it came. Overall I love this place a lot. It is definitely saved as a favorite in my book! If you are in Sausalito I would 100% recommend trying Poggio! Perfect for a date night or with the family!
