Another amazing experience. It boggles my mind how this place doesn't have a 5 star rating - every time I've been here it's been exceptional. This time we were in a bit of a rush, we had to be in and out for dinner + drinks within an hour. The hostess and waiter delivered! They recommended the fastest things on the menu, and even though we customized our pasta dishes, they came out quickly, tasty, and with time for another drink! Love this place!

We came here for the 4th of July weekend, stayed next door at the hotel. The service here was top notch. The food was amazing. The pasta, the pizza. The vibes were all perfect. I can't say anything bad about this place. Highly recommend stopping by here and enjoy it all. We came here for breakfast and dinner.

Poggio has a genuinely authentic Italian feel the moment you walk in. The layout leans traditional, with classic seating and a warm, old-world atmosphere that fits perfectly with Sausalito's charm. The downtown boardwalk view is definitely a highlight - sitting by the windows overlooking the water adds a lot to the experience. Getting to the restroom upstairs going through the hotel with no direction, however, felt like solving a maze. Navigating the upper floors turned into a bit of an adventure on its own, not necessarily negative, but slightly confusing and unexpected. Food-wise, it was decent but not memorable. The pizza was okay, though slightly burned on the bottom, which affected both texture and flavor. Watch out for kids cheese pizza as it comes standard adult size one. For the price point, it felt a bit overpriced for what was delivered. The biggest drawback was the service. It was extremely delayed, and the wait between ordering and receiving food stretched far longer than it should have. Overall, it's a pleasant, character-filled spot with a great location, but the execution didn't quite match the setting. Three stars for strong atmosphere and views, average food, and service that needs improvement.

Came here for a company dinner. The restaurant is located right next to the bay. If it wasn't cold and raining you could definitely opt to eat at the outdoor patio seating for a better view. The inside of the restaurant was large and had a large wine selection wall behind the bar as soon as you enter. There is so much seating, but I would definitely say Sunday is the best time to go because it wasn't overly crowded. Definitely good for all group sizes. The service was amazing and so helpful with food suggestions and wine pairings. We had a bunch of appetizers: arancini, fegatini, & the sformatino to name a few. Everything was absolutely delicious but my favorite dish was the gnudi which is essentially spinach gnocchi with beef ragu. This is definitely a MUST try! That was probably the most pillowy soft gnocchi I've had in the Bay Area! The ragu paired with it very well too because it was so tender. For dessert I had the lemon mousse which was a nice refreshing dessert after a heavy meal and I loved how it had pistachios for a nice crunchy texture. And of course couldn't have an Italian meal without ending it with a nice cappuccino. I definitely want to come back here! Buonissimo!

Excellent food and service. Hands down. My family and I were getting hungry after strolling the charming streets of Sausalito...and we decided to come here to have our late lunch especially there is no wait. At first I didn't expect much, but everything changed after I started looking at the extensive menu and realized this place is serious about the food they serve. We ordered one pizza and a savory custard plus two more pasta dishes. As you can see in the pictures, the presentations were elegant; and the taste of the dishes were so delicious. I was very surprised and enjoyed the flavor and texture of the (cauliflower?) custard, and glad that our friendly waiter recommended it to us! We enjoyed the meal so much that we even had desserts here This place deserves all the attention; but I'm glad my family had an excellent meal without having to wait!

The servers were amazing and despite having no reservations, they were able to accommodate us on a busy night. We got the ravioli and a margarita pizza. Both dishes were decent but I've had better at other places. Pizza could be improved if the ingredients were more "melted" together. It felt like the cheese, sauce and basil were all separate items thrown on bread, there was no cohesiveness. The pasta was fine. It had different textures which was nice. The cheese (ricotta salata) that was placed on top was super good. I wish there was a way to get that cheese in every bite without having to cut the 4 already thin slices into smaller sections. We did get a side of bread that was honestly really good and flavorful.

Best mocha presentation ever - mahalo Molly, you're awesome!

Stopped here with Terry K while waiting for the next ferry back to the city - all the wait staff could not have been nicer, even though we just sat at the bar and had drinks. Terry discovered they have a 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand award, so I'll have to come again to try a meal!

Reservations for 3 on a busy Saturday night. Ambiance was great. Seated right away. You could tell the level of service because the server was great about checking in and letting us know the specials in advance and when he would return. Drinks and food were amazing especially the whipped vegetables and meatballs. Highly recommend the Gnudo and finished off with the Hazelnut Chocolate gelato. Bellissima! Would return.

The Poggio Scramble, with over medium eggs. This was a really good breakfast!

First, I love Sausalito! My handsome fiance and I enjoyed a really amazing breakfast, at Poggio Trattoria. I had the Poggio Scramble with eggs over med, with ham, potatoes, and tst..It was really delicious, my eggs were perfectly cooked..We shared some bacon also. It was delicious, and I need to say it was also cooked perfectly. My guy had the Tosti Mattino, it was a breakfast sando with baked eggs, prosciutto, and mozzarella. It looked good, he ate it all.. I had a latte, I cant remember what his coffee drink was, it was served in a martini glass, strong and cold..He really liked it..I'll show a Pic. Elias was our server and was very polite, and efficient. The restaurant is really nice inside and the seats were so comfy.. When we arrived we were greeted and told to sit wherever we like. I really loved our breakfast and the experience.. Very enjoyable.. I would like to come back and try dinner here next. I recommend giving it a try for sure.

Delicious fresh hone-in-house made pasta, seafood etc

Alessandro was our fabulous waitperson & very helpful. 6 of us @ 7:15 w/no rez on Saturday night & were accomodayed @ a lovely table. Food & drinks was excellent, save the Mezcal cocktail w/overpowering odor I'd skip opting instead w/replacement " Bees Knees"-Yum. Freshly made pasta amazing w/succulent quail & sauce. The seafood risotto was brilliant due to the sauce & shrimp, yet only 1 scallop, clams in shell plentiful. Mates had tasty pizza & we fInished w/Afogato! Yummm!

This is definitely on the more expensive side, but for a special lunch or a first-time visit, we felt it was worth it. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the location made for a memorable experience. The only service issue we experienced was at the beginning of our meal. It took approximately 15-20 minutes before we received water, and guest ( they knew pretty well ) arrived after us appeared to be served immediately by 3 different servants with water and wine. We felt a bit overlooked and unwelcomed during that time. However, I do want to give credit to our waiter, who recognized the delay and apologized, which we appreciated. One additional surprise was being charged $2 for hot water with lemon. As someone who does not drink iced water, I often order hot water with lemon and have never been charged for it before. On a lunch bill approaching $150, that charge felt unnecessary and a little unwelcoming. It certainly wasn't about the $2 itself, but rather the principle of it. That said, the food and overall experience were excellent. I would not take any stars away because this place is truly a gem with delicious food, gorgeous views, and a welcoming outdoor dining area for guests with dogs. Highly recommended, especially for visitors looking for a memorable waterfront dining experience in Sausalito.

Service was very good. The wait staff was very attentive and gave advice when asked. I had a glass of white wine, 2024 pieropan soave, which was crisp and paired very well with the items we ordered. My bf got a local pilsner, which was refreshing. We ordered crab cakes and a bowl of clam chowder for starters. Both were very delicious! The vinaigrette dressing on the salad paired nicely with the crab cakes. The chowder had the perfect consistency. For mains we had the red snapper and the Mediterranean branzino. While both were tasty, I think they could've done a better job flavoring the fish itself. With the toppings on my Mediterranean branzino it made the dish but without the sauce and slaw on top the fish itself was a little bland. Same with the snapper. The fish had a delicious crispy skin and sat on a bed of vegetables and clams in a sauce. The fish itself was a little bland but together it worked. I think I would've liked to experience stronger flavors. Having said that, I can appreciate the dishes for what they were. For dessert the waiter recommended the tres leches as his personal favorite which is what we got. It was delicious! And while it was sweet it was not overly sweet. Overall I enjoyed this place, I'd come back for more.

I'm really disappointed with my recent experience ordering from this restaurant through Grubhub…read more I understand that Grubhub handles delivery logistics, but it's still the restaurant's responsibility to communicate with customers when there are issues. I was left waiting about 45 minutes with no update--no notice of a delay, no mention that there might not be a driver available, nothing. What made it worse was calling the restaurant for help. The response I received felt dismissive, and I was simply told the order was canceled. There was no effort to assist or provide any explanation. Yes, I received a refund, but that's not the point. Good customer service is about communication and respect for your customers' time. A quick update could have made a big difference. The service was a little shaky, but overall we greatly enjoyed our evening! Food & Drink: We joined the waitlist when we arrived, and got some drinks while we waited in the bar. We really liked our cocktails, with the Margarita and Aperol Spritz being two highlights. Once seated, we ordered the Shishito Peppers, Pear Pizza, and Olive Pizza. The peppers were nicely cooked and salted, and they paired well with our drinks. The pear pizza was surprisingly delicious with gorgonzola, nuts, and some leaves. The olive pizza was also good with its' greek inspired toppings of feta cheese, olives, and red peppers. For dessert we tried the affogato and Bocce dessert, which were both good. Though my affogato had mostly melted on arrival. Service & Ambiance: The only issue we encountered was the service. Our evening got off to a slightly bumpy start because the waitlist notification was sent to my phone's spam folder, meaning I wasn't notified and we almost missed our opportunity to be seated. For this reason, it would be good if staff could check the bar before removing customers from the waitlist (I told them that we would be waiting in the bar, which is a short distance from the host desk). Another issue was that the pizzas took a long time to come out. Fortunately, management made it up to us by giving us a free salad and free meatballs. This was a classy gesture and definitely helped! (Hopefully this was just a one-off situation). Finally, I was surprised by the amount of kids at this establishment. Considering this is prominently marketed as a bar, there was quite a lot of unruly children running (and climbing) about, which did affect the ambiance somewhat. Management may want to consider whether allowing children is worth it, as they somewhat spoil the lovely waterside ambiance. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would come again!
