A food truck with its own seating downtown! That was enough to make me love this place. I tried a beef saj. It. was. Delicious! The bottom half is wrapped in foil so I could walk with it but I noticed the stools on the side so I had a chance to sit and enjoy the food. The owners/cooks were friendly, lively and welcoming. I used to live down the street from the truck and would pass in on the way to the library and wonder why there were so many people there during the afternoon and night. Now I know why. read more

We stopped by here for a quick bite and with all the halal booths on this block it was very hard to choose. We walked by each one. We looked at pricing and looked at all the reviews and photos on yelp. The decision was still not made until as I was looking at the menu again here at Noah, I was asked if I would like a free sample. Well of course ! Yea thank you, you are speaking my language now! I sampled the lamb gyro meat and I was hooked. I needed more so this is where our tasting journey begins. The hubby and I ordered the 1. Lamb gyro 12. Kofta Kabab plate and 20. Fresh Beef Saj. 4/5 Lamb gyro : This one of the softest most tender lamb gyro meat I have ever had. Paired with the garlic sauce and hot sauce it was a delicious bite . 3/5 Kofta Kabab : The Kabab beef was tender but it was lacking a bit of flavor , as well as the rice. 5/5 Beef Saj : This was easily the all star of the entire meal. The beef was beautifully seasoned and cooked so it had a slight crisp . The crunch and flavors with garlic sauce and hot sauce were perfection and a party in my mouth! Even though it was the last item we ate, and we were so full.. I was so sad when we finished it. It was just that good! The pricing is amazing compared to Bay Area pricing . This was my first food truck experience in Portland and it was alright. After checking out all the food trucks around the block (many with similar Halal menus), we decided to try Noah's because the wraps looked pretty big. We tried #21 Lamb Saj ($7), which comes with lamb, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and tzatziki, plus hot and garlic sauce on the side. We brought the wrap to a brewery across the river and ate it there. The lamb saj was good, but not spectacular. Unfortunately, there was no tzatziki sauce in my wrap at all, which was highly disappointing as I was really looking forward to the sauce. Without the tzatziki sauce, the saj tasted dry. I'm not sure why they did not put tzatziki sauce in the wrap, but since I was already far away from the food truck, I couldn't go back to ask for it. They did give me hot and garlic sauce on the side, which made the saj taste a little better. Overall, the lamb saj I tried here was not bad, but also not something I would go out of my way for. But for $7, it was a good size and can definitely fill you up. read more

Marshall's food is amaaaaazing! My bestie and I had the beef gyro, lamb gyro plate, and some fries!! The beef gyro was very flavorful and had a great ratio of vegetables to meat. My lamb plate was awesome, it came with humus and tzatziki sauce, vegetables, and rice!! =) and there was a small dolma in the tzatziki sauce, it's great presentation. All that food was $23!! #23 (something) Saj (you will see that I was a dumb dumb and blocked the name with my hat in the photo) WAS DELICIOUS! Especially for $7! The wrap was very big. I took a pic of it sitting on the table, relative to me next to it while seated- and yes it was that tall. The wrap consisted of beef and lamb, lettuce, tomatoes, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce. I love tzatziki sauce, so I was very happy at how saucy they made it. I also asked to add a little hot and garlic sauce, which was perfect because it added extra flavor, but not too much spiciness. I liked that they toasted the wrap a bit. It was hot and a little crunchy when I got it. Perfect really, if you ask me. Was staying at The Nines hotel a couple blocks away from Noah's. It was 1am but my friend and I were starving but didn't want to shell out the money for the pricey room service. $18 bucks for a chicken sando with no fries, no thank you! So we decided to take a stroll to the food carts. Thankfully Noah's was open at 1:30am on a Saturday. It looked like a father son duo running the food cart. I ordered the falafel platter. It came with rice, salad, tzatziki sauce, hummus,and a dolma. $7 bucks for a big meal. Fast and friendly service. Took the food back to the hotel room. Falafels were crispy and full of flavor. Hummus was smooth and creamy. The whole combo was just tasty! Perfect meal at 1:30am. They have all the traditional Mediterranean offerings on top of typical American items such as a hamburger and French fries. Best Halal cart near my optometry clinic. I would here at the suggestion of a professor, who said that their gyros were enough to last two meals. For student on a budget, all I could think was YASSSSSS. Thankfully my professor was never wrong. The Giro's require both hands, and definitely last two meals. I was so happy with the freshness of the ingredients used. The meat was freshly sliced and still tender (dry meat is the worst!) the server was generous with the sauces and made sure my meal was wrapped tightly so it wouldn't fall apart on the way back to clinic. For size and quality, this place is one of the best :) Pro tip; finish off your meal (or half meal) with some sweet baklava! Consistently tasty here as well read more

Combo Saj is pure yes. Cooks the meat perfectly. Nice alternative if you are looking for a different wrap than the usual gyros. But those Rock here to. 24 menu items to choose from with plenty of vegan choices. Friendly service. Clean and consistent! read more

We absolutely loved this food cart. It was the first one we saw that really caught our eye. The smells coming out of this place were heavenly. We tried the beef saj and fries which were both spectacular. The beef saj is a food item I did not know I needed in my life until my visit to Portland. It's packed with flavor and do yourself a favor by ordering it with cooked onions. So good! What makes this place the best is the amazing customer service. The young man cooking our food said he took over the family business from his parents who have been cooking delicious food in Portland for the last 10 years. Out of all the food carts in Portland, I had to get dolmas from this one. They won me over with the painted images of a bunch of animals (Noah's Ark) on the side of the cart and then lost me with their surge pricing and less than stellar attitude. I just wanted a bunch of dolmas for lunch. I saw they had a $5 lunch order and a $6 dinner order. I asked if the dinner portion was more dolmas, and didn't really get a straight answer, more like a mumble and a "huh". I asked again and the guy started prepping the container with dolmas and while he was doing so I added in one last time, 'can I get the dinner portion?', because I was super hungry. The guy rang me up and it was $5, so I asked if he had given me the dinner-sized order. With yet another non-answer, he then yelled out, "$6". So, is the $6 because you gave me a larger portion, or because you just realized you could get away with charging me an extra dollar even though it's lunch time and the lunch order. I'm 98% positive it's the latter because the portion was pretty small for even $5 and while the dolmas were good, it wasn't worth even $5. Lastly, I tried to pay with $50 bill because it was the only thing I had and while I realize that a $50 bill to a small business is like getting leaches in a swimming pool, it was all I had and I thought they'd appreciate the cash more than a credit card, but I was wrong. They basically wouldn't accept the $50 and though they were quick to take me up on my offer of paying with credit, they were also quick to charge me an extra 47 cents on top of my order for paying with credit... which is some bull ass shizz considering the guy had already pretty much ripped me on that extra dollar for the dinner time dolmas. It is what it is, but next time I'll be getting my dolmas from anywhere but Noah Halal. read more

Was trying out a few food trucks in the area during a rainy afternoon, BF was compelled to stop here despite multiple vendors offering falafel. Service was a tiny bit slow but very friendly, and order was made fresh- falafel wrap in pita was our poison. Received a HUGE wrap, loaded with fresh falafel balls, what seemed to be salad mix, some beige sauce, and tomatoes. Not sure what the sauce was, taste was very light and it wasn't similar to hummus or tzatziki. Veggies were fresh and pita was warm and fluffy and didn't fall apart. Falafel was different than I'm used to: it was obviously more of the middle eastern style rather than Mediterranean, but it was cooked on the outside without really being crisped up at all and as a result it was fairly mushy. Texture issues aside, the flavor was fairly good, though it just did not stand out as stellar falafel to me. read more

One of the best food trucks I've ever been to! The food is amazing and service is great!! The lamb saj looked nothing like I expected, but it was delicious. The chicken and rice plate was very good as well. We tried The falafel as well - amazing! Haven't had such good falafel since I visited Egypt. The prices were very reasonable considering the amount of food we got in each serving. 3 of us shared the 2 meals we ordered and still had leftovers! Great tasting food at amazing prices! Friendly service and open late! What more could a person ask for?! Visited them around 9pm on a weeknight. No line and the food came out in under 15minutes. We ordered the lamb kefta saj, lamb gyro, combo saj, chicken and beef burgers. While all of the food was really good, the combo saj and chicken burger were definitely better and the lamb gyro was the bestest!! We got the combo sajj, lamb gyro and chicken burgers again the next day, they were THAT good! Must try when in Portland. Tip: You can get the burgers only instead of a meal combo for just $5. The fries were not great so we skipped them the next day. read more

I bought chicken gyro from here today and while it was a fairly big size serve the taste was far from being good. This tasted like pita bread filled with fried chicken pieces and with some salsa. The taste is just not zingy enough. The server was nice though. Since this is one of many tuck shops among this square block area, go to Gyro House which is opposite to this on other end. They make far far better gyro and it is super TASTY! read more

Tried to order a lamb gyro, I specifically asked for it to have no peppers due to a severe (life threatening) allergy. They then proceeded to load the gyro with salsa, I tried explaining and gave them another chance and said specifically that I could not have salsa either. So upon receiving the new gyro I was so excited thinking that they actually got it right this time, but no, there was the salsa just as soon as I opened it up again. If they can not operate a food establishment without understanding simple instructions about a life threatening allergy then they should not be in business. If I could give them zero stars I would. 0/10 would NOT go back 0/10 would NOT recommend 10/10 WILL be telling everyone I know just how bad and insensitive this place is! read more

Serving sizes were large and server was friendly, but I ordered the beef kofta ($7) to try something new and I couldn't even finish it - the meat was chewy/cartilagey. However, My boyfriend ordered the lamb gyro ($5) which was delicious, but all the meat was placed at the top and none was at the bottom of the tinfoil... fries were $5 and they were good and we were given a huge portion. read more

Maybe it's because they put a dab of zhoug-a mixture of herbs & spices packed with flavor. It was as smooth as silk), as well as beet salad. It had quinoa that seemed to have been fried because it had a slight crunch which I loved. It was the perfect foil for the golden beets and radish in the salad. We ordered just the right amount of food for the 4 of us (one piece of pita each, one salad, one hummus and an order each of souvlaki). I noticed some vegetarian options on the menu as well.
