Time for an update! My last review was in April 2021. It's now September 2025. And I am so delighted to report that Egyptian Bros is--if anything--even better than it was before! --- We've picked up the food in person, and enjoyed eating it at the food carts. But our favorite is to order Egyptian Bros for birthdays, and Mother's Days, and those days when you have out-of-town company and everyone is tired and you want to blow their mind with amazing food. Honestly, don't bother ordering anything other than lamb and rice. Yes, of course, everything else is fabulous. But the lamb and rice is the best! Delicious pickled vegetables. Tender lamb. Savory rice. A creamy, cool yogurt sauce. If you can restrain yourself--and that's a big IF--you'll get two meals out of it. Highly recommended. The pita was pillowy and springy- if I had the appetite I would've ordered some more just to eat on its own. The lamb gyro was so so good we wish we had gotten two! The ta'amiya sandwich came with 3 falafel which were crispy and crunchy on the outside! That was the best part for us as we found this sandwich didn't have as much flavor/texture as the lamb gyro did. First time trying their Lamb Gyro. I must say Wow, so yummy! One of the best. And their service is so welcoming and friendly.

Really solid falafels. Note that it's a food pod versus store front. I got the falafel sandwich which is a pita filled with hummus, pickles, lettuce, onion, tomato, eggplant and tahini. Food came out in less than 10 min when I ordered. The falafel was crispy on the outside even after it took 20 min to get home. A little less green on the inside than I'm used to but that might be more of the "Egyptian falafel" style. The addition of the eggplant was a nice touch. Overall, very tasty. Love this food cart pod and surprisingly never tried egyptian bros! We had people visiting from out of town and they were really craving a gyro so you know I had to go to Yelp to see what other people were recommending. Egyptian bros kept popping up and it's great they had later hours so you didn't feel rush to get to the pod. Since it's part of this food cart pod parking around the area can be sparse but you can get lucky and get a free parking spot. It was a cooler day so it wasn't too packed so we were able to get in line with only one group ahead. For ~$13 you can get yourself a packed, hot, and saucy gyro. I also got a side of their fries and would recommend since they are piping hot and plenty to share with a group. As for the gyro, I loved the warm pita that held everything together well. When you order they ask for the spice level and I like a medium level but I feel if you enjoy spicy you can go even higher. The meat is flavorful and comes in nice chunks to absorb the other sauces and pickles on top. You can easily finish one on your own but it's also a nice option to share if you want to try other things in the pod. Staff if friendly and you won't miss them calling out your name. They do charge a fee for card purchases so I would recommend paying with cash to avoid the fee. read more

Service has gotten very slow. They are understaffed. On a fairly quiet day, it can take minutes to get their attention to put in an order, and then 30 minutes to get a gyro. In that time I only saw 4 orders go out. read more

Had some confusion and didn't realize there was a mayonnaise drizzle on the chicken plate but they were very nice to redo it as I can't eat mayonnaise. The pita was some of the best I have had anywhere, warm and soft and pillowy and didn't get hard as it cooled off. The chicken had good spices so was flavorful. At Egyptian Brothers, this is their norm. I've eaten here a few times and the gyro is consistently that good. They make it fresh to order and it comes out piping hot. I love how they add marinated veggies; the acidity compliments the creamy tatziki sauce nicely. The gyro is huge! Usually I save half for another meal but when I stopped by last Friday, first time in a year, I was so hungry I ate the entire gyro. After enjoying the wine tasting at Vino next door, it's the perfect place to stop for dinner. Prices are more than reasonable plus the outstanding food and great service make this food truck a true value! Its located in a food truck park and the area is very lively. After a lot of begging, I was able to convince our group to go out and try food carts in Portland. We selected this location. I decided to give this Egyptian place a try. This food cart has the best lamb that I have ever tasted. I have tried several very good gyros in my lifetime but this is by far the best. I expected the Lamb to be thinly sliced but I was astonished at the size of the Lamb chunks on my gyro. Imagine one inch square chunks of perfectly seasoned lamb on top of a gyro salad. Many people are not willing to eat at food carts but I promise you that you are missing out. The photos don't do this place justice but you too will enjoy a great meal if you are willing to take a risk. We especially like the gyro platter. The lamb cube was very tasty and tender. The rice was well seasoned and tasty. I will definitely order it again. The Egyptian salad was okay. The falafel were very good. However the red sauce they put on the top made the dish very spicy and didn't fit the dish well. I wish they used better green for salad instead of iceberg lettuce.
