Horrible! Don't waste your time with this place. We have been customers here for over 11 years and they turned us away without warning. We had an issue with our 11 year old dog that has some stiff hips while boarding there. That is actually in a separate review. Although I disagree with the decision of Noahs Ark Boarding Resorts ownership and management on that decision, its something that we have to abide by. But, please read on, this complaint is not concerning the Boarding Resort but Dr Martinez-Hernandez and again, the ownership of Noahs Ark. My wife wrote a Google review about a week or so ago regarding the boarding aspect of Noahs. The owner responds by sending us a letter that we are banned from the facility and no longer allowed to bring our dog for boarding, grooming or veterinary services. That came as a huge shock seeing how about 2 months ago they didn't mind taking over $1000 from me for surgery and other Vet services. But, as I said earlier, my dog is 11 and he has some bad hips and was being seen by Dr Martinez Hernandez for the issue. She actually had him on some meds that were really helping his mobility. After being asked to leave we called Noahs asking for a refill of the medicine that had been helping our dog (it would be a week or so before we could get in with a new vet, and coming off of it would surly hurt our pups mobility). My wife was told that the Dr could not issue a prescription as we were banned from the facility for writing a bad Google review (actually Noahs Ark is in violation of the Consumer Review Fairness Act CRFA). I contacted Dr Martinez Hernandezs office one last time to try to get a few days supply for my dog. They not only refused, but advised me that I was not welcomed on the property and they were disconnecting the phone call as corporate has banned us. Seriously, if you are in the business of taking care of animals and caring for them wouldn't you want to give my dog the meds he needs so he doesn't suffer? We as humans we can disagree, I understand that. But when you take an oath to help animals, just as a medical doctor takes an oath to help us, wouldn't you want to give the dog the meds he needs? Bottom line, if you really cared about the animal and not your ego or the money, you would. This is why this place is horrible. The owner puts his ego and pocket over the health and wellness of the animals. Pathetic. read more

*FOR PETS WHO TAKE MEDICATION* I have been taking my dog here for years and although there were some things I didn't necessarily love, I thought most of the employees were very kind and I trusted my dog being in their care. However, I just boarded my dog this past weekend (Thursday-Sunday) and am very upset to realize upon picking my dog up, that she has half of her anti-seizure medication left in the bottle, when I only packed 2 extra pills, meaning she wasn't given her meds properly. Her medication bottle, that is mandatory to bring her medication in, has the correct dosage on it and the front desk has been told specifically how much to give her and when. When I realized how much medication was left and called to get some answers, I was told "I'm sorry, they must have only given her 1 pill. And it looks like she didn't get any on Thursday night." The medication is given at 7am and 7pm so I don't understand why my dog didn't receive her medication on Thursday when she was dropped off at 5pm. I also asked if it was the same employee who administered the medication each time and was told that it was actually THREE different employees who gave the medicine, which means that three people didn't read the directions on the bottle of my dogs medication before giving it to her or look in their system for her dosage. I understand mistakes happen and that's totally fine, but for that many people to administer her meds incorrectly, that's a bit much. She refunded me the "medication fee" but unfortunately, that doesn't change the fact that my dog didn't receive proper care and could now be at higher risk of having a seizure. So just a heads up for everyone who has a pet that takes medication, they don't document what was given to them, only if something was and apparently multiple employees don't check the dosage. I'm bummed because I enjoyed bringing my dog here and have had good experiences with them in the past, but will have to find somewhere else since I just can't trust that she's actually getting what she needs. read more

They fit us in on the same day and thoroughly examined my pup, and explained the treatment options and costs in a way I understood. What set them apart and prompted this review was the follow-up care. I got a call the next day after our visit asking how my baby was doing, etc. Remarkable! read more

I am really disappointed that in the year 2023 their neutering policy demands a 6 month puppy be fixed. Research now indicates that what was done 20 years ago is no longer acceptable. Large breed dogs are prone to cancer, incontinence and orthopedic issues as they age. Research published July 2020, doi: 10.3389/vets.2020.00388, Assisting decision-making on Age of Neutering for 35 breeds of Dogs; Associated Joint Disorders, cancers, and Urinary Incontinence. While toy breeds and females do not have repercussions with spaying that cannot be the conclusions for males and larger breeds. I have been going to Noah's Ark for years, but always had female dogs and absolutely love them. Now I have a male and awhile back I got a rescue male kitten that the company policy for that rescue also demanded fixing. Ben was not even a year when he was just walking in the living room and his hip fractured. My vet said this was because he was fixed way to young and the hormones had not supported bone health so this was the result, a 2000.00 surgery. Which we did because he was worth every penny. I cannot risk my Boxers health for this outdated policy My vet won't even discuss neutering until after 10 months of age. They say take a medical absence but then I pay for 2 evaluations because he would be gone longer than 2 months and have to start all over for his assessment, etc. He would go through 10 days of tiered evaluation. he is just 4 months old. There is nothing to evaluate, he is a puppy and lives with another dog. And does not go every day, only days when he would require crating greater than 4 hours, which I won't do. On a final note- I have had a great experience with my other female dogs at this daycare- right now I am not feeling very good about antiquated policies. read more

I hate to be this person but I need to advise pet parents to not bring your beloved animal here. I went in Tuesday to take my dog for his annual. My tech jammed unnecessary tests down my throat by basically implying that, HE, specifically is at risk for everything under the sun. I felt emotionally hostage during this entire appointment. It was very clear to me after leaving that she must be a commission based employee. I walked out after paying more for his annual than I paid at the emergency vet when he was a puppy. My entire family & extended family have been coming here from Annapolis, MD for years and have each separately left this facility for different reasons. They will jack up the prices, not refill prescriptions without full blood panels and recommend sedating teeth visits for animals that do not need them. The only redeeming aspect of this facility is Dr. Martinez, she is patient and kind. For anyone reading, there are better vets who understand your pets needs and understand that times are tough and not everyone has $700 to drop on an annual vet visit. read more

Our Vet is here and we like her (Dr M-H) and the Staff. This review is about the boarding and grooming. We have an 11 year old mixed Golden. He has been going here his whole life. In the last year they have been very busy and lots of turnover so now They do not have customer service. After our last boarding and grooming experience (after receiving several glowing report cards on his stay and paying for walks) we were told they would not take him any more because he was old and stiff getting up. The staff was patronizing on their message. They also promised us a bath and then refused us without a refund for promised bath. When I asked to speak to a manager about our concerns we were refused. We were long time customers but cannot believe the treatment we received. We feel burned. Again, I recommend them for veterinary services, but stay away from boarding and grooming. They should add on their site that they don't take older dogs. read more

Noah's Ark Vet contacted me only via this Yelp app after my negative experience with them. I had previously asked their customer service if someone could contact me about the services received VS what was billed and I was promised I would get a call the next week. I never received that call to this day (months later). I want to again clarify I have no questions about billing policies and I certainly was not "confused" about it- I dispute the fact I was charged for a service that is questionable was ever given. I do have questions about their level of care for my dogs, their attention to detail and their ability to follow up with customers. The follow up on Yelp from Noah's Ark was not helpful. I hope anyone who is reading my review takes into consideration that regardless of the fact Noah's Ark answered me here, they did not have the integrity to return my requested phone call. read more

UPDATE 26JAN23 I voiced my concerns to Jess, the office manager, and she was incredibly helpful and even reimbursed me for the military discount. The staff added a note that Dr. Gustyla is not to see my pet, as my preference, and I've had nothing but great interactions since this incident. Thank you Noah's Ark for being accommodating & recommending VOSM for orthopedic consultation. They were excellent and did not need to sedate my fur baby, as Dr. Gustyla said they would, to take x-rays. I'm giving one star based off of the veterinarian services I received today from Dr. Gustyla. The daycare is phenomenal, and the other three vets are fantastic, but this was my first time having my baby seen by Dr. Gustyla. I feel very uncomfortable knowing that the care of animals are in her hands. She seemed extremely incompetent, left my baby upstairs at the vet for 6 hours without telling me, no apology, no explanation, other than her "assuming" that I knew he was up there? I arrived to pick him up from daycare (his appointment was during his daycare stay) and the daycare staff didn't know why he was still up there (or if he was even up there) because the vet staff can't tell them apparently. Then I go upstairs to get him and the staff at the desk had no idea why he was up there nearly all day. The vet tech met me, was pretty rude, and relayed the doctor's instructions. The doctor simply chose the same method a previous doctor had. One we've already tried, and I relayed this info to her beforehand. But she did it anyway! Not helpful at all. She didn't address the other issues I mentioned, and required me to get a urine sample from home (when apparently that's why they kept my baby all day, to get a urine sample they never got..) I love the daycare and staff, but will NEVER let my baby be seen by Dr. Gustyla again. I may not return to this facility, due to this visit. I am highly disappointed. Additionally, I just found out today a military discount is offered, and when the staff recognized I was in the military, they proceeded to say I "should have" been given a discount this whole time, but didn't attempt to offer one, or a credit. I have been going to the vet and daycare since November of 22. read more

We had our first visit tonight with Dr. K, after being a patient of hers at another practice. Upon walking in I found the facility lovely, the staff welcoming and super efficient. We were taken in to be seen promptly and we were early! Dr. K, as always, takes all the time needed to address our neurotic concerns (which in retrospect, is always too much - sorry!) and showed great care to our pup. Hopefully it's not soon, but I look forward to our next visit. I love a vet that gives it to me straight and cares for the well-being of both parties! read more

I had a 6:30 PM appointment on a Friday night and after awaiting 30 mins, I left after no one came to attend to me. I understand people get busy but this is completely unacceptable. No one came in and said they were running behind or anything. If I did not come out to leave I doubt anyone would have ever came in, as the office closed at 7:00 PM. I have had previous issues with the business but I believe this is the last time I can support this business.  I left my job early from Virginia to make sure I was on time and it would have been nice to be seen within a decent amount of time. I even e-mailed the business and no one called or responded to even address the situation. Not the best experience for me.... read more

The staff is very friendly and professional. I've been a client for the past 3 maybe 4 years. Until recently I've been very pleased, however the 100% price increase on some of the services is unreal. I received curb side service during COVID for my pets and paid less than $250 for exams. Recently took my pets in for a visit and was charged $495 for an exam. The same exam they received a year prior. When I asked the staff about the increase all they could confirm was it was a increase. I can only imagine the financial impact all businesses took because of COVID, but this is unacceptable. Now I have to find a new vet. Be sure to ask questions and get detailed receipts of your service. read more

My boyfriend brought our cat Fred (girl!) in here when she somehow injured her tongue. Poor lady. They diagnosed it as a chemical or electrical burn. Wah!! We have no idea how that happened but nonetheless, Noah's Ark helped us and took good care of Fred. They showed my boyfriend how to administer a syringe of meds in her mouth. The bill was not crazy either. A funny little thing they do that I thought was cute was take the animals face picture for their file and it comes printed out on your paperwork. Would definitely go back. -Edit: I also brought our new cat Flash (4th!) here to be spayed. The vet with the shirt dark hair, woman in her 50's I think, was very nice and knowledgeable. They were able to keep her overnight (doctor was scheduling surgery for the next day) and did a good job with the surgery. Flash was back to herself in no time. My only small complaint was the vet tech didn't let me know I would have more charges the next day for pickup. I thought the $68 I paid for a physical exam was it. But it was still another additional $113 for the spay. read more

If there was a 0 Star that's what they would get. I left my Basset hound with a friend to dog sit for a week, and I live in Edgewater. My Vet is here. During the week my dog developed an ear infection. My friend brings the dog to the vet, My friend was just diagnosed with a touch of dementia. Noahs Ark took full advantage of this and gave my dog lymes disease shots worm med, heart med, rabies shot. They sold my friend medicine for my Basset dogs ear at $140 for a small Half bottle, Then they have the nerve to tell me when I went to confront them on all the unnecessary fees shot meds they administered that the medicine they sold me for his ear was not the right medicine they wanted to sell me more..lol all in all that trip to Noahs ark cost me $438,89. After I went in the took off 89,00 for the shots they had no right to give because my vet here in Edgewater takes care of all that. Attn: Wellness Plan subscribers Two stars because the doctors and techs have always been patient and caring. We subscribed to adult dog + dental treatment wellness plans in May 2017 for $479 per dog. It was a comparable price to other vets in the area, and Noah's Ark was close to my house and had good reviews. We experienced good service throughout the year. My dogs had very few minor issues outside of the coverage provided by the plan, but I appreciated not having to worry about visit fees, as well as the discounts on treatments. At some point in the past few months, the price of the plan we used was raised from $479 to $700-- a frankly astronomical increase, and one that needs to be openly disclosed. At the time of our renewal, I spoke to several people about our plans to renew. The person who scheduled our appointment said she would put a note saying we planned on renewing our plan. They managed to do $450 worth of work on our dogs in vaccinations (two per dog), vet fees, tests, and nail trims, before ever mentioning that the price of the wellness plans had skyrocketed. With the work already done the only options were to pay out of pocket a cost nearly equal to a year's worth of care, including dental care under anesthesia, for one dog, or to renew the plan at the new price. I understand that practices have to raise prices to stay in business, and I respect that. But to neglect to mention an increase that would impact most family budgets until after performing $450 worth of services... that is unacceptable. I honestly feel swindled. We've found another local practice that offers wellness plans at prices comparable to our original plan and it will still save us money to eat the cost of our last disastrous visit. We appreciate Noah's Ark's vets and techs, but I can't recommend the practice due to the opacity of their pricing. read more

I can't say enough good things about the Rehabilitation Department at Noah's Ark. I took my boxer, Reggie, for hydro therapy after his CCL surgery. Jenn and Morgan were very careful and professional. They took great care in noting the amount of time he walked, his speed and changes in his extension. He was never pushed beyond his limit. I was also shown exercises to do at home to help him with his recovery. I am happy to say that he is doing well and walking without any issues. read more

Visiting relatives from out of town and needed a few heart medicine and asthma pills for my dog to make it another three to five days before returning home to visit my vet. Called for help and they refused to help without seeing my dog. I asked if my vet could talk with them and she said no. Sounds like they just want money, not really concerned about my dog. I won't go there if I can get somewhere else! read more

Update: Every time we take our pups in to this vet, we have a wonderful experience. I can't say enough about the veterinarians and staff, they are kind, compassionate and very reasonable both in price and in medical treatment. I am still not completely comfortable with the fact that they take the pups into the back for some of the treatments, but I do recognize that most vets do this. I wish they could find another way, but until they do, this will be our vet when we are in the area! Original post - We are new to the area and when our furbaby split one of his claws we took him to see the vet and went ahead and did a full yearly exam while we were there. We loved Dr Anderson! He was very good with Oscar, he seemed to really care and spent time listening to and addressing our concerns and our questions. It was a clean and friendly facility. We never felt rushed, that's very important to me. This would be a five star review if it weren't for the fact that they insist on taking the animals out of the room and into the back without us. It terrified the dog and upset my husband and I. There are notices in the room that say this is their policy, but I didn't see the point to it for what they needed to do. The nurse had to drag him on a leash, so by the neck, out of the room and wouldn't let us assist to make it easier for him. I am pretty sure my husband will insist on carrying him back next time, regardless of their policy, we would not want to see him dragged by the neck that way again. We really liked Dr Anderson, so we will likely stay with this vet as long as we can avoid this type of handling in the future. read more

I adopted a puppy and as part of that they provide for the puppy to be neutered. They set up the appointment for today, the 15th of August, and so this morning I took him up there. First red flag, they had no record of the appointment. I was standing g there when the lady at the shelter made the call, I heard all of her end. We got that sort of straightened out and I left him there. No paperwork was signed. I arrive to pick him up, early, and the vet was condescending about the harness my dog wears because it doesn't line up with the E-cone they prefer for after neuter operations. Then he hands me a flyer with a baggie stapled to it and tells me "This is his tag, it is registered to us right now but you can go online and change that." He mentions the fleas, and I respond that the flea stuff I have bought from them has not worked at all. He said oh, it stopped working? I told him no, it never worked. So, I get home and start looking at this flyer. They microchipped my dog without consent. I will be going there in the morning to ask them why they did not ask for consent first. I feel like my trust has been violated in a very serious way. The best part of all this? The chip is registered to them and to change that I had to go online and pay to enroll as the owner. read more

I can not say anything about the Boarding, but the actual vet staff were wonderful. The veterinarian got on the floor with my two dogs and spent a good 15-20 min playing with them. She was wonderful, very accommodating to my financial situation. Made it pleasing and comfortable to be there. The staff was great. I brought in stacks of documents from when my dogs were 2 1/2 weeks old ( they are 4 years now ) they took the time to go through it all, without a single complaint. There are a few things that I am pleased with, but I would recommend this place. read more

This review is for the veterinary office only. Staff is very inconsiderate & non-informative. Had a scheduled appointment for my animal, when I arrived at 8 a.m. they informed me that no doctor was present & the next appointment was at 9:50 a.m. I left my animal & called office at 11 a.m. & was told that no doctor was present (again... bs) & they would call me when my animal was seen & ready to pickup. So... 10 1/2 hours after I dropped my animal off for a simple exam I CALLED THEM & was told, oh yes we were getting ready to call you because your animal is ready and we close in an hour. The WORST service I've ever received from a veterinarian. There are plenty of others in my area, will never patronize this place again. read more

Today was my first time visiting Noah's Ark vet. Office was very clean and everyone was very helpful. I has my son and my cat crate and they came out and carried the crate in for me. The exam room was bright and had lots of space. The treated my boys so gently and made them feel at ease (well at ease as much as they can). Great place for sure. read more

Everyone here is fantastic, from Dr. Kraselski to Jen to Kolleen and all of the techs who have ever worked with my guys Cubby and Rico. Cubby recently passed of old age and everyone was so supportive while we went through the grieving. We are seeing that same dedication for my other guy Rico, who is a cancer survivor. Kolleen developed an immediate rapport with Rico and he even allowed her to brush his tail- something only a few are "allowed" to do and only after time has gone by and he trusts you. That special rapport is why I am so indebted to everyone there. 5 stars!!!! 10 out of 10!!! read more

Very disappointed with service lately. On my first visit, I purchased a puppy plan costing over $500. This is a great value for all of the services offered through it. However, customer service has been an issue. At my first appointment, I was told a note would go into the file, so my dog would only see the vet she had on that appointment. To date, I have seen 3 different vets. Also, due to having a puppy, various shots are needed to get her up to date and immunized. Appointments are made and then the receptionist is supposed to verify prior to the appointment. I often do not receive emails or calls verifying the appointments. When I do the information is wrong. For example, with her latest appointment, I was called Monday for a Wednesday appointment. When I got there, I was told there were no appointments because of a canine influenza clinic. I explained I received the verification call and couldn't return Thursday. The receptionists understood and went to speak with the manager. Bella, the manager, explained to me I would not have received a call on Tuesday for Wednesday and my dog was one day early for the booster shot she needed. I explained I received the call Monday and I couldn't come back Thursday. The manager then said, "well fine. We will give her the shot any ways." Then proceeded to take my dog in the back, give her a shot, and take blood. I did not receive any paperwork confirming what had been done. Never, have I had a vet take a dog from me and give a vaccine without me present. When I asked the receptionists for the manager's name, I was told it was Bella, the woman who took my dog, and there was no one above her to speak to regarding the incident. The fact that there have been several issues with appointments and the fact the "manager" is rude is why I will not renew my plan again. read more

I went to them cause they do dental procedures, my dog had 2 abscessed teeth that needed work, I seen the doctor and she was very nice and understanding of my concerns. They took really good care of my dog and they followed up a few times after her surgery. They explained what I could do to prevent it in the future and gave different sample of their product. All the staff in the whole building were so nice and welcoming. I would recommend them to anyone read more

Went in to take my dog to the vet that is upstairs and the tech and veterinarian were both very rude so I went downstairs to the rehabilitation center is and I went and talked to jenn which is the best caring person there and I let her know what happen and she said she will look into it and she is very good at what she does a bit ago my dog got hit by a car and she helped me and my dog out a lot I was a vet tech for 3 years and I never met someone so nice and caring and professional like jenn she is the best. read more

My cat had fractured one of her teeth and so I called my vet to see how much a cleaning amd removal would cost and was taken aback at the insane amount of money they wanted. After complaining on FB about it, a friend recommended calling Noah's Ark to see how much they would cost. Despite their office being a 45 minute drive from my house, their price was a fraction of my vet wanted. I had an initial consult and I appreciated their honesty about everything, and the ease of scheduling the dental work. I was happy with how the work was performed, as well as my final costs. I only wish we lived closer as I would gladly take all 3 of my pets there for routine care. read more

these people the coldest people have ever dealt with. I brought my dog in who literally passed out on the floor , she was not moving and pretty sure she was dead. The vet techs showed no compassion. I dont use this vet for all the other bad reviews have seen, but had no choice that day because it was the closest vet to me. The vet spent 10 minutes with my dog see what happened my dog could not be saved. She charged me a 95.00 emergency fee for a dog she knew she could not save. She could have atleast done the regular fee. Her excuse was had to interrupt what was doing. Bitch you could have shown compassion not charged me for my dog who had already passed away. When I got there said just in case my dog could be brought back to life , they want to ask me questions.I had to scream my dog is in the car can you go get her? They didnt offer cleanex when I was bawling nothing!! I asked could they waive or reduce the emergency fee no.. my other two vets I go to , guarantee you they would have atleast not charged the emergency fee. I brought her in at 630 pm. Hartless bitch. My neighbor noted how cold everyone was. They were so cold and uncompassionate , had asked them do u see this so much just lost all feeling for your customers going thru stuff? My neighbor uses them for boarding after she saw how they handled my situation she is not going back. We both live across street form the devil worshipping place. When asked abt options they were very condescending. My dog that died before in a different facility , those vets came and hugged me , talked to me etc. Sent me a card and everything. These people are money grubbing ignorant pple. I will drive extra miles to any other vet then them. Banfield and Pasadena vet and Hubbard vets all different much much much nicer. These pple dont give a shit!!!! No hugs, no cleanex and didnt give me a break on cost. They knew my dog was dead... I knew she was too but took her there just in case. To charge me an emergency feel , while am bawling about my dog, ridiculous. She could have just charged a regular fee.. am sorry .. that is a place that doesnt give a rats ass about their customers.
