What stood out most to us was how deeply she cared about her students and how intentional she was about making sure they got the absolute most out of their time with her. We also want to recognize the other teachers, Ms. Snobia and Mrs. Cynthia, who were equally loving and caring and helped create such a positive environment for the kids. She had clear goals for what she wanted her students to leave with before graduating from her program. She worked with them on writing their names, counting to 100, learning the days of the week, months, colors, planets, and basic shapes. But what stood out to us was that she cared just as much about social and emotional growth. She spent time helping the kids understand their feelings, talk through emotions, and build confidence alongside academics. Sherie always found ways to make holidays exciting with visits from the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and little moments that made school feel special. There was also so much time for play and being outside, which was something we really valued. Henry spent his days running, exploring, and playing instead of sitting in front of a TV. Outdoor time was clearly something Sherie valued and made part of the daily experience. Her own family has a strong running background, and you could see little pieces of that come through during outdoor time with running drills and active play. Henry absolutely loved it and still loves to run today. We really believe those preschool years helped build his confidence, love of movement, and an active lifestyle. One thing we will never forget is the support she gave to our family during a difficult season. During cancer treatment, some of our appointments were extremely early and far away, and there were days Sherie opened at 5-6am to help support us. That level of care went far beyond preschool. She showed up for our family in ways we'll never forget. We're so grateful Henry had the opportunity to be part of this community. Sherie, Ms. Snobia, and Mrs. Cynthia created memories, built confidence, and gave him such a strong start. To us, they became more than teachers, and we'll always look back on our time at Little Seedlings with so much appreciation and love.

forgot / left my son in the van while she went in Target & starbucks then when i came to pick the…read morekids up she tells me "i felt so bad he was late to school today" not that she had left them in the van while she makes a target run because she forgot to drop him off ! i ended up having to hear that from my son & a third party . huge red flag INSPITE of the CONTRACT signed at start of care , SHE DOESNT ALLOW the older children to bring phones ! she allowed my son to bring his phone until she realized it worked. I was on ft w. him one day & she came in to make him do something , he puts the phone down & somehow the facetime ended but was working fine when she wasn't in the room. She wanted me to have to contact HER anytime i wanted to speak / hear from my 9 year old. ( If there was something going on what kid is going to feel comfortable saying it i infront of the adults ) i mentioned the contract stating kids may bring electronics & she said "a phone isn't an electronic it's a phone" so i asked ok why can't he bring his phone because that goes against the contract she said "oh we just don't do phones here" if you want make your rules up as you go along & tell kids / parents phone aren't allowed & contact HAS to go through you then you need to contact me EVERYTIME my son says to contact me ! Example , my son asked if they can ask me if i can bring him some food , i didn't hear anything about it until my son came home hungry asking why i didn't bring him food . she doesn't let you INSIDE THE FACILITY , & still uses covid as an excuse have to take a covid test even infants every week sometimes late picking the children up from Highland . violates her own contract but when asked about certain things her response is always "refer to the contract" when majority of the time she doesn't even abide by HER contract takes off EVERY holiday ( federal , state , city holidays ) & a couple WEEKS off for vacay & any other day she feels for ex ( was closed 2 days for LABOR DAY 7/1/23 & 7/4/23 , closed 11.10 (FRIDAY) for VERTERANS DAY even though veterans day is on the 11th , a SATURDAY , closed 11/22-11/24 3 days for Thanksgiving when single parents like myself still have to work so i was ALWAYS needing to find a plan be for daycare ( will attach photos ) "recommended" we bring the bigger kids lunch during the summer so she didn't have to feed them 9 year old son hadn't been there (because he doesn't like being there ) in over a month & she was still requesting payment claims she's a 24-hour facility on paper but doesn't do evenings or weekends(will attach photos of texts) and claims "no availability" as an excuse. If your not available hire some help that is because you ARE A 24-hour daycare ! contract states school aged children who receive before school care (pick up and drop off) would have breakfast & my son has yet to get breakfast before she drops him off to school . Most daycare are 6a - 6p , but at 5:31 she'll text "your kids are still here" (will attach photos) & charging late fee's when how am i late if you're 24/7 ?

It is a small, in-home preschool, that has a maximum of 10 students (~6 more recently), and the teacher, Ms. Yvette, pours into these kids so that they are proud and excited learners and are able to do so much more than you ever imagined a 4 year old could do! When looking for a preschool we wanted a place where we felt our child would be safe, with attentive teachers, not sat in front of a screen all day, he was treated well, and he would learn important socialization skills and basics to ensure that they were ready for kindergarten. Growstrong EASILY checks those boxes and goes far beyond. Our 2nd child will graduate from Growstrong in the fall. Between the two of them we have kids who were reading at a 2nd grade level or higher, adding, subtracting, multiplying, doing word problems, playing chess, reciting the "I Have A Dream" speech and excerpts from King's other works as well as poems by authors like Robert Frost, and doing so much more by the time they leave preschool. And through their entire time there they were treated like family by Ms Yvette--a woman who I have never seen even raise her voice at any of these children despite how crazy they may have been acting--given healthy home cooked meals daily, and respected like real little humans with feelings and independent thoughts. It says a lot that out of my son's class of 5 students, 4 of them are siblings to children who graduated or currently go there. I have also grown to be friends with many of the parents of the children who have attended because we are all similarly invested in our kids and their future and value what Growstrong provides. And all of the kids have always been incredibly sweet. With so many difficult decisions as a parent, selecting Growstrong was easily one of the best ones we have ever made.
