Large fries and Mushroom Jack Burger
    Ashley R.

Got this to-go during our stay in Chico. My boyfriend got the California Burger, I got the Mushroom Jack Burger, and we shared large fries (well done). My boyfriend thought the California was decent but the cheese skirt was a bit overpowering. I thought the Mushroom was good but I didn't really taste the mushrooms. Fries were large enough to share. Overall a decent place to eat.

    Fried pickles!

Fresh and yummy! It was great to see all the take out orders and have the inside to ourselves! It was a beautiful night and 4 parties were on the patio so you know that they do good business! Sauces on point Fries perfect and so tasty Fried pickles are still my favorite around! Mushroom burger with jack and grilled onions was perfect! Nobby burger with cheese skirt was on point! The buns are fresh and not too big! Burgers are juicy and cooked perfectly and the presentation! Yes we will be coming back!!

Good burgers but expensive. Deducting a star for charging for ranch. Small seating area. Very limited.

Wow! Very small place but the food is delicious and plentiful. Don't be embarrassed to order a petite burger & small fries. That's what I got and couldn't finish either. The staff is super pleasant and make you feel right at home and the bathroom is spotless - as is the rest of the restaurant. Highly recommend.

Good, but not quite phenomenal I really liked the atmosphere--it was relaxing, and everyone working here had a smile, which made it feel welcoming. The burger itself was delicious, cooked well and full of flavor. The fries, though, were a bit soggy, which was disappointing. Overall, it was a nice spot, just didn't quite live up to the hype I was expecting.

Small but great local burger joint. We ordered the Nobby burger which you can get with cheese or without and or a cheese skirt. The buns were light, airy, and delicious. There were enough fries on the side for two to share. We made sure to get a fry sauce on the side as well. Glad we stopped!

This is my burger and it was delicious!!-

I want to say that the manager was awesome and corrected the issue- I revisited them and he made it right- FYI - they gave me a redo on my burger and it was wonderful- had all the veggies on side which made a huge difference!! 5 stars!!

My son gives it two thumbs up! We enjoyed the amazing burgers at this highly recommended restaurant in Chico. We will be back next time my daughter has a soccer game in Chico. Yummy!

Just a small town girl... We decided to stop at nobby's, since it was new to both of us, and we both were hungry. The layout of the small little tiny, larger than a shack, but smaller than a full size restaurant location, is a tad bit offputting. The outside seating that also has a door leading into the restaurant, is rather deceiving since it's the back door to the restaurant and not for customers. The front entrance is around the other side of the building , and bathrooms are outside and yet the other side. Indoor seating is wobbly tables and plastic chairs. Ironically, they aren't uncomfortable. You order at the counter, and your food will be brought to you. You can pretty much order a burger from nothing on it, to anything and everything on it. It's very reasonably priced, and they interestingly claim to be the ones to invent the cheese skirt. If you're from the Sacramento area, you know are other local Burger joint that claims the very same, and they've been featured on many food shows. So maybe that title is up for grabs The burgers are good, but nothing exceptional. We also ordered fries that definitely needed to be salted. Even after adding salt they seem to be missing something. We shared a shake, which was super thick and really delicious. Bonus points for making a tasty shake. Nobby's is a local joint, and I thought it was interesting that so many people were coming in and picking up or placing to go orders. A lot of the orders were just for fries, or just a burger, or whatever. They are definitely loved by their local community. If you're in the area and you want to avoid fast food, this definitely would be a great place to stop for an inexpensive quick bite.

    Feasting at Nobby's Burgers.

The name pretty much tells you exactly what you're getting, and thankfully they're really good at both. The burgers are the main event. Big, messy in the way a good burger is supposed to be, and actually worth being hungry for. There are enough options that you can switch it up every time, although I usually end up staring at the menu for way too long just to order something similar to what I always get anyway. The fries are great alongside it, and obviously having a good beer with everything doesn't exactly hurt. The atmosphere is another reason I like this place. It's lively and casual without feeling like they're trying too hard to manufacture a "cool" restaurant. You can come in with friends, grab a burger and a beer, hang out for a while, and nobody is rushing you out the door. Service has always been friendly and pretty on top of things, even when they're busy. And considering how packed places like this can get, that deserves some credit. It's definitely not an everyday kind of meal unless you're trying to personally keep the beef industry afloat, but when you're craving a real burger, Burgers and Brew is hard to argue with. Five stars and absolutely worth coming back to.

I especially loved the curly cheese fries, and the fried chicken sandwich was good too. The place is steeped in history. I'm not really a bar person and the energy isn't quite my vibe, but there's a lot to appreciate--especially the wild ceilings packed with random items. It's unique and full of character, even if it isn't perfectly aligned with my usual preferences. My husband, a local who grew up in Butte County, shared some great stories about his Chico State days, back when this was still a quieter town of wealthy families with unpaved roads. Those little pieces of local history made the visit even more interesting. I blame my daughter for this review…read more Last week we were headed to sushi when the smell coming from Parkside Tap House ambushed us on the sidewalk. Being pregnant, she's operating with heightened food detection abilities that rival military technology, so she immediately declared, "We're coming back here." A week later we returned with her boyfriend and brother, and what followed can best be described as a competitive eating event. The hostess greeted us warmly, got us seated quickly, and we settled into the lively outdoor patio. Great atmosphere, cold drinks, sports on the TVs, and just enough energy to feel fun without feeling chaotic. We started with ahi bites, beer cheese pretzels, jalapeño poppers, and Brussels sprouts. The ahi bites were fantastic. Fresh ahi, creamy avocado, crispy wontons, and a little heat at the finish line. The pretzels were soft enough to pull apart with your fingers and the beer cheese was rich and addictive. The jalapeño poppers got an unexpected upgrade from the blackberry BBQ sauce, which gave them a sweet, smoky personality all their own. Then there were the Brussels sprouts. Whoever thought of pairing Brussels sprouts with blackberry drizzle deserves a raise. Sweet, savory, crispy, tender, and impossible to stop eating. For dinner we sampled the taco bowl, brisket bowl, rice bowl loaded with brisket, and a house salad. The taco bowl was colorful, fresh, and loaded with flavor. The brisket bowl was my personal favorite. Smoky brisket over fried rice with vegetables, crispy wontons, cotija cheese, and a sweet-spicy sauce that kept me digging in long after I should have stopped. The rice bowl with added brisket was almost comical when it arrived. Massive chunks of brisket perched on top like they owned the place. Tender, smoky, juicy, and worth every penny. Even the house salad was fresh enough to remind us we were technically eating vegetables. What stood out most was that every dish felt like someone in the kitchen actually cared. Nothing felt thrown together. Portions were generous, flavors were bold, and everything hit the table looking as good as it tasted. We originally found Parkside by following our noses. After this meal, we'll be following our cravings back
