I got the California Club Sandwich on Sourdough toasted, it was delicious! The service was great and they were very quick. Highly recommend.

I guess I'm on a deli sandwich quest. I tried Great Harvest Bread last week and was disappointed at the skimpy portion of meat and only sliced bread as an option. I picked up lunch from The Redwood Sandwich yesterday, and I'm happier with the bread situation... the ciabatta roll was incredible! They are very accommodating of customizations: ingredient swaps, toasted or grilled bread, etc. I ordered the California Club, and while it includes bacon and a thin layer of avocado, one slice of turkey felt a little insulting at $14.66. Overall, it was a delicious flavor combo but I'm still not sure I'd put this in my regular rotation based on what I value as an ideal deli sammy. read more

I heard this was the best sandwich shop in town. Many ppl recommended this place. People told me it was pricey but go me it seemed normal idk if it's cuz I'm from so cal lolz. When I first passed by I thought it was a pub or something but I was surprised it was a sandwich shop lolz. The inside has to plenty of seating. I love that they give you the option of sliced or rolls :)). I love how they also ask how you bread should be (I've never had an other shops asks) but I love the option I got the number 1 half sandwich with pesto salad and it didn't disappoint. I thought half a portion was good for a meal personally so kinda happy I got it half and saved my pesto for later which was so good and recommendation for the cashier lady :)). Went there for the first time and for almost a $17 sandwich I expected something quite massive, not just a regular basic bitch sandwich that anyone could make at home. Just flat normal basic sandwich nothing fancy nothing of any size that could justify almost $17! I thought when it didn't give me size options it must just default to a 12-in sub or something if I didn't choose a specific type of bread, for that price, has nothing else would have made any sense. When I was handed the bag with the sandwich, I was confused of how lightweight it was and then when I looked I just started laughing because that's just a regular sandwich you make it home with regular bread. Nothing in that sandwich was $17 worth of product. Definitely the most expensive sandwich I've ever had in my life from just a basic ass sandwich place. I've been here twice now and can officially give it a 5 star review. I've tried 5 5 different sandwiches all of which are delicious, appropriately sized (meaning the right meat to cheese to bread ratio, nothing skimped), and its always good. The tri tip and Bleu cheese sandwich is amazing. The grilled onions, the seasoned meat, tha tang of the Bleu cheese. It's like 95% perfection. It needs something with acid and so I've ordered if once with raw onions also but that didn't quite do the trick. I might bring in a small container of my own pickled onions next time I order it, bit thats just a personal preference. I won't be living in Chico much longer and when I leave, this place is definitely one that I will miss. read more

I've had a few sandwiches from here. The Pesto Caprese, and the Tri-tip with bleu cheese. Both are excellent and have nice portions. I got the Tri-tip one time and asked for it without grilled onions, when I got home, it had a generous portion of grilled onions (perfect if you like grilled onions), and I called the store, and they said they would remake it for me. So I popped back over and picked it up. Super friendly staff. And it was totally worth it. Because the Tri-tip and blue cheese without grilled onions is phenomenal. One of my favorite places in Chico. The Chico sourdough roll is excellent. read more

Hands down my favorite sandwich shop in Chico. Far superior than all the other sandwich shops around town! Everything is so fresh, crisp, and delicious. They make their own pickles which is a major plus in my book. They have plenty of different sandwich options but I'm so obsessed with their #11 salami, Cap, & Provo on sliced sourdough bread that I can't stray away from it it comes topped with some creamy house made pesto sauce that pulls the whole sandwich all together. Forever recommending this shop to everyone and anyone I can. I ordered a sandwich at Redwood Sandwich Company on Saturday, March 28. It was a simple salami and cheese on a sourdough roll with pickles, mayo, and mustard. I was very polite having worked in the food industry before and know that kindness and respect are appreciated. I paid cash and put a nice tip into the jar. After giving my name, I sat down and scrolled through my phone quietly until they called my name. As the young man handed my sandwich to go, I fleetingly noticed that both he and the gentleman making the sandwiches behind the counter gave me unwelcoming looks. I thanked the young man with a smile and left. Upon getting home, I proceeded to eat my lunch. It didn't taste right so I opened it up. Tucked between the salami and cheese was a layer of very spicy beef, edged with red powder. I don't know why they put that on my sandwich. I pulled it off the salami and ate half of the sandwich. I didn't drive back to complain because I'm sure it would have been pointless and I didn't want to waste the gas. I just don't understand why they would add the spicy meat. (I am not a fan of spicy food.) The only possible reason I could come up with was that I was wearing a ball cap with a cat kicking a crown on it (No Kings) and they didn't approve? Good News Bad News very solid sandwich, nicely presented... however it shouldn't take 20 minutes to get two sandwiches made; also the "rage" metal blairing through the in-house speakers was horrible, not good for my family or the other two families in the restaurant at the time... How on the world does this place have a good rating??? Based on that we stopped in on a Sunday for lunch. I ordered the French dip on a toasted sourdough roll BF got Tri tip on a toasted roll Kiddo got pb&j with Mac n cheese. Not a single one was right. Sourdough not toasted at all. Roast beef was a really strange color. Like it was old. It was gross. Tri tip roll also not toasted. Slathered in sauce. Bread fell apart. Meat was meh. Kids pb&j - they had no jelly so we had to wait for them to go to the grocery store to get jelly. What the actual F?!? They forgot the Mac n cheese too. It was HORRIBLE. Let me start by saying, I'm not a sandwich person. 98% of the time I make better sandwiches than any store or deli I've been to this far. That being said, I am ADDICTED to this place!! The staff are so friendly and fun and kind, and the food is amazing. My dad has always said "if a sandwich doesn't drip, it's not worth it" and I subscribe to this philosophy- so if you want dry sandwiches, edit them accordingly. 1. Chicken caprese sandwich- this is the first sando I ever got here and this is what reeled me into this place. Get it on sliced sourdough buttered/grilled! And add some extra balsamic. 2. Tomato soup- OH MY GAWWWWWWD now every time I go there I have to ask if they have it and bring some home for later. 3. BBQ tri tip- absolutely delicious 4. Tri tip/blue- recommend taking out the spring greens, they get soggy. Now here is the best trick for us tri tip people: order a BBQ tri tip, ADD blue cheese sauce, blue cheese crumbles and avocado on your grilled sourdough. I legit can't get anything else now. I keep coming back for this. It's amazing. Every time I wanna take a picture I forget because I'm hungry and end up scarfing down my sando. I could not wait to try this new sandwich place!! It's near my house and I'm always down for a good sandwich. I ordered the turkey club with pepper jack, the tomato bisque and the potato salad. Pros: 1. The ingredients to the sandwich tasted great. The turkey in my sandwich was not pressed lunch meat but was actually thick turkey. 2. They utilize Tin Roof Bread!! 3. I didn't ask but it tasted like a lot of things were house made which is awesome. I know on the menu they advertise at the pickles were House made and it also seemed like a potato salad and the soup was as well. 4. I can easily split what I bought. They gave you more than enough food for the price. 5. The atmosphere is modern and cool. 6. The staff are really friendly. Con: 1. I didn't care for the tomato bisque. It was a little salty and it lacked flavor. So I wouldn't get that again. I will definitely be back! Looking forward to trying other sandwiches. read more
