WARNING: DO NOT EAT HERE. If I could give less than one star I would. This place is a complete rip off. We ordered $92 worth of food and it looked like $30. The pepper crusted tuna was so disgusting, no taste and I was worried it was bad, Market Basket has much much better sushi. The Bento box was tiny for $26 and had chicken that tasted like leather with sauce on it, along with 3 pieces of broccoli, a smaller take out box may have helped make it look more appealing. Udon noodles was the tiniest portion I have ever seen. They skimp on quantity so do not expect anything decent in terms of portions. I actually had to whip up some pot stickers because we were still hungry. We called the restaurant and the manager did not give a shit in the least bit. He basically was like oh well and I do not want to discuss any further it is what is. My advice try Soul Kitchen in Westford - they are awesome! You can also try Sizzling Kitchen in Lowell - excellent also. Stick with what works so you won't be disappointed. Move over Sushi Yanagi, I've found a new favorite sushi joint in Chelmsford! I've been meaning to check this place out since its opening earlier this year but for some reason, we never got a chance to. We went around 9 PM and the place was pretty busy. There are 2 sides, one is more of a lounge and the other is a dining area with a sushi bar where you can sit and watch the chefs prep maki rolls and sushi boats. I started off with a pear martini and my husband went with the sake flight sampler. The martini was very tasty .. so I had two! I thought the names and descriptions of the sake on the label sheet was neat. and helpful. You can't go to a Japanese or "Modern Asian Cuisine" and not try their sushi maki rolls. They had a great selection of standard rolls as well as some interesting creations, 'The Firework," "The Buddhist", "The Emperor." We settled for "The Cape" which has softshell crab, avocado, cucumber, topped off with lobster salad and tobiko. It was delicious! The roll had a generous amount of seafood and was presented nicely. My husband loves eel so we tried "The KoMOdo" which has shrimp tempura and topped of with eel, avocado, cucumber and black caviar. The dish was less glamorous compared to its rivalry nearby but the combination of the crunchy shrimp along with the soft eel and avocado was perfect. On the cold starters menu, we tried the Jalapeno hamachi which is yellowtail sashimi and jalapenos with a ponzu sauce. It was just OK and I should have stuck with my favorite, pepper crusted tuna. Next time! After we got our sushi fix, we moved on to hot starters and entrees. When I took a bite into the grilled shishito peppers, I knew I was gonna pay for it the next day. It was good but too much to handle. The lettuce wraps were my least favorite. My #1 preference still goes out to P.F. Changs. I think the chicken breast was too big and dry. By this time , we couldnt order a main entree. I was intrigued by the grilled lamb rack and the double cooked duck breast but we knew we wouldn't be able to finish it. I will definitely be back to try those items! In lieu of an entree, we got bacon fried rice to share. It was a bit on the bland side but the dish was light and the bacon wasn't overwhelming. I think it was a bit overpriced at $12.95 for a small portion. At the end of our meal, the server surprised me with a song and green tea mochi's. (She knew it was my bday because we got carded.. oh how I felt so young!) How I love mochi's. They are like little balls of heaven filled with ice cream. Verdict: We would definitely be back. Although I could do without the bacon fried rice and lettuce wraps, I did enjoy the drinks and the maki rolls. I've returned several times over the year and I have consistently been treated with a friendly and professional manner. This family owned and operated business has blown my expectations by operating as a more formal, but still comfortable establishment. The menu is quite expansive with many pan-Asian dishes. I have had several dishes and all were very good. My personal favorites are the amazingly juicy and crispy wings and their hearty soup dishes. I've come to know the family and they have a deep history in the restaurant business that spans decades. It shows in their work ethic and appreciation for fantastic customer service. Reservation for six made the day prior. Arrived promptly at six, greeted immediately and asked who the birthday person was. My son was wished happy birthday by the manager and our server. Restaurant was beautifully decorated. Wish I got pictures of it. We all got different appetizers miso soup, vegetable sushi and something similar to a steak and cheese puff. Ended up ordering a second appetizer of that. All appetizers were delicious. Reason for three stars and not four is because my daughter ordered her dish with medium steak and it came out rare. She insisted I not ask them to put it back on the stove.When the server noticed her meet was not touched, she did not ask if anything was wrong. Went here thirty minutes before opening and was seated, okay Nobo, I like so far. I dined here for lunch with an acquaintance and when we first stepped in the decor was vibrant and pretty modern. But I'm not here to review the decor. There are some items that ran out, eg uni, but it's the restaurant's first month on its feet, I'll let that slide. Had the red snapper (tai) and jumbo shrimp (botan ebi) sushi -- both were fresh and you could distinguish it. Also ordered tuna, shrimp tempura and spicy crab maki and all tasted great. The shrimp tempura was pretty crispy compared to other places and being someone that didn't like shrimp, I would order it again. Nobo also prepared the botan ebi perfectly. The shrimp had a good balance between cooked and raw, almost like sous vide prepared. So I think this place became my local go-to for my raw fish cravings. I've ordered from here a few times and the food is usually good. But tonight I decided to give some of their other food items a try and it was a serious disappointment. This is about an item off their specialty menu. I got the white wine vegetables with pan ramen. Biggest mistake of my life. I feel like I've been duped. In the menu description, it states the vegetables are sautéed in a white wine sauce served on a bed of pan fried ramen noodles. Note the "pan fried ramen noodles". I expected to be getting a stir fried noodles dish with actual real ramen that is cooked. That's what I really wanted. It was a lie! Instead I got a box of dried crispy noodles with my veggies. Unbelievable! The menu description is very misleading. They just throw some dried noodles in a box and have the audacity to charge you 18.95 for it. What a rip off. I expect better from a place like this. I also ordered the pork gyoza and the tebaski wings. They were nothing special. I'm not impressed. Ordered take out of the supreme feast platter and it was amazing! It was full of goodness! So fresh and had the most incredible flavor in every bite. The platter was beautiful too, it is a platter worthy of any event, a professional function or a house party. My $25 sushi entree featured some of the thinnest cuts of fish I've ever seen, and even then the tiny bit of rice underneath were obscured from view. Maki rolls were meh as well. This is by far the best sushi restaurant outside of the city. If you like sashimi, I highly recommend the Chirashi dish. You get 20 generous sized pieces of sashimi on a bed of rice. Absolutely LOVED dining at this restaurant. I'd say it's one of the best in the area, after trying most sushi restaurants around the greater Nashua area. The service was fabulous and our waitress was very attentive and informative when going over the menu and her recommendations. Our food came out quickly and we were never rushed with eating or paying our check. We started with the green tea and miso soup which warmed us up on a freezing day. The green tea was some of the best I've had and the miso soup was incredibly flavorful. We ordered the tuna, white tuna and salmon sushi, all of which were fresh and melt in your mouth. We ordered the Komodo roll and the Artist roll which were delicious and very filling.
