    Fried ube (sweet potato)

We had a lovely time here when we came for dinner. We shared the miso ramen with chicken chashu. Since we wanted the ramen spicy, we ordered the chili paste and mixed it in. It is kind of crafty how the restaurant makes you order this as a side, since most places will give it to you for free. But the paste was very tasty, and maybe it is a special type of chili paste straight from Japan. This will remain a mystery. Anyway, we also ordered the chicken karaage which had a crunchy and salty batter and moist chicken inside. The sweet potato ube tempura was our favorite though. It was sweet, salty and crunchy and somehow not oily at all. The service was great. The decor was lively and kept you entertained. It was too gimmicky for me but everyone enjoyed themselves. The soda is a must order. There's a special way to open the bottle. The stopper that pops in to place once you figure out how to open the bottle helps with the flow of liquid as you drink. The soda bottle alone entertained us for several minutes :) There are plenty of cool flavors to pick from. We hope to visit again soon!

We got the Black garlic and shoyu ramen. Let me just start off by saying the food was 5/5 delicious, especially for authentic ramen in this area where the only other gourmet ramen you're getting is near Boston. However, we went on a Friday night and it was very overwhelming. There's plenty of parking outside with a large parking lot. The inside is relatively small with tables very close together, it could probably use a table or two being removed for more comfort. There was a wait but there is no waiting/seating area so we waited outside, however I could definitely see this being an issue when people are looking for a nice warm bowl of ramen in the winter and the only place to wait is outside or in their cars. The reason I'm rating a 3/5 is because of service, not at the fault of the waitress. When we got there, there was one cook and one waitress. The waitress was also performing the role of busser and hostess. She was so clearly overwhelmed and overworked, trying to clear tables, serve tables, help people pay, seat people, help those waiting outside, etc. This led to a tense environment that you could feel among other customers. This also led to LOTS of orders going to the wrong tables, items being forgotten about, and many people waiting outside left while we were eating. I want to preface again by saying this is not the waitress' fault by any means. She was doing the absolute most she could all while working by herself performing multiple unfilled roles. This is an issue that management needs to attend to, to relive her of working every role other than cook and being extremely visibly stressed. I may go back in a few months when it's chilly outside to treat myself to a nice local bowl of ramen, but I hope management has helped their employees by then.

What a gem in the neighborhood. Its a cute spot to get warm bowl of japanese style ramen and small appetizer dish. We tried japanese fried chicken, crab croquet, two ramen dishes and they were all very good! The soup was full of flavor and the porkbelly was cooked superb w flavor and tender. They were pretty generous with their portion as well. Will def return for more :)

Yokai - A Delicious New Spot in Westford! My friend and I decided to check out Yokai for the first time, and I'm so glad we did! The restaurant is cozy, and the menu is small but thoughtfully curated with a good variety of options. We decided to share a few different dishes, which was perfect for getting a taste of what Yokai has to offer. The braised pork belly was a standout--served on a bed of white rice, the rich, flavorful sauce from the pork really elevated the whole dish. The ramen was excellent, too. I was initially hesitant about the bamboo shoots, expecting the usual canned variety, but these were fresh and tasty. My only suggestion would be to ask for the seaweed slice on the side next time, since it was a little soggy by the time I got to it. We also tried the green beans, which were fresh and crisp, but honestly, nothing too special--especially for the price. I just wanted a veggie option, but I'd probably skip them next time. Overall, Yokai offers some really tasty dishes and a pleasant atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to try the truffle ramen and the purple sweet potato fries! Highly recommend for anyone looking for something new and delicious in Westford! Oh and the server was lovely.

ps - at this price point i was expecting house made noodles as most boston establishments do. they do use what appears to be individual packages of fresh ramen. we did not see any equipment that would suggest they make the ramen noodles in house.

We were warmly greeted at the door and chose to dine at the bar. Our bartender was attentive but a touch reserved but we never felt unattended. The cocktails were well made and much better (read not watered down) than those at many Asian spots. The Gyoza was quite good as were the spring rolls. My wife and I split the Szechuan combo, beef/chicken/shrimp which was well proportioned with all of the protein in abundance and both tasty and perfectly cooked. Likewise, the house fried rice was also very well made with a large portion of well cooked chicken, beef and a few shrimp. Overall our experience was good and we'll be coming by again for a laid back evening meal.

Very tasty, good flavor, good amount of pork with cabbage, crispy wrapper, maybe could be a little fatter. 7 out 10 6.)Chicken Finger , add on $3 for 3 of them good value. Nice golden batter very tasty with perfect meat to batter ratio. 8 out of 10. Overall a nice experience for takeout, $21.95 not bad for the amount of food I received, very friendly person at register, food was fresh and hot. Would have loved to have given a 4 star review but the Rice needs to get better and the boneless ribs were very dry. It's a solid 3-1/2 stars. Will definitely eat here again.

For my main, I ordered the Khao Gai Yang, a dish with chicken, rice, veggies, and a sauce on the side. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. It was also, apparently, less salty, presumably for the same reason. The amount of kimchi in the "sample" was so plentiful as to almost fill up the mini cup we used for takeout. They have a large selection of vegetarian and vegan food, as well as some gluten free items, though they lack the staff and kitchen size to accommodate celiacs, so it's really more of use for people on elimination diets or with poor digestive capabilities. The owner had prior training in Italian cuisine, which is the reason such food is on the menu, and while neither my father nor I had occasion to try it, it is apparently a passion of the chef's, and the shared discussion of their mutual interest in Italian cooking may be the reason my father was given a free "sample" of kimchi, which was larger than the paid order of kimchi at most other restaurants. The food portions, in general, are massive, with the leftovers of an order of wonton soup not fitting in a to-go canister, with other orders being similarly large. Their jasmine tea is unusual for its slight fruity flavor, and ability to "overbrew" without becoming bitter, instead maintaining its delicate flavor. Each table has condiments, which in addition to including the "normal" chili crisp, and fish sauce often found at Asian restaurants that provide table condiments, have the more western pepper grinder, as well as garlic salt. Curiously, there is no "normal" salt as often found at western restaurants, though bottles of sriracha are found at every table. Perhaps the garlic salt and sriracha are the restaurant's "unique twist"?

Still excellent, still sweet (though now more noticeably spicy too), and still important to remind that the dishes here are not necessarily attempting authentic cuisine of specific regions (even though specific dishes are named), but more of a freestyle approach. The wings have improved in recent visits. More plump, more crisp, more juice, more flavor. Still good value. Still a little weak on the service (more about being young, unfocused and lacking initiative than anything approaching rudeness). Still highly recommended.
