I have no issue at all with a service charge when it reflects good service. My only complaint is the technology fee added to the bill. Charging customers extra for a restaurant's internal technology or operating systems is not fair. If this fee is related to software such as a POS system, that is simply a cost of doing business and should not be passed on to the customer. If more people have not complained about this fee, it is likely because many do not carefully review the bill or notice the charge. Regardless, this type of fee leaves a bad impression and negatively impacts the overall experience. Unfortunately, practices like this make me unlikely to return, even when the food and service are good.
