This is a great spot to seat down and eat if you have no where to go, or if you want to watch a game that's playing. The place is huge, live music on the weekends, very loud and busy. They always have sports on the tvs and will accommodate you with whatever you want to watch. It's usually pretty empty during lunch and the weekdays. The weekends get packed AF! I'm talking 1 hour waits for a table, and they have like 50 tables. The food is really good, 9/10. I usually get the pechuga a la plancha, white rice, beans, maduros, and a side of avocado. I also ask for salsa picante y salsa rosada. Depending on the day, I order a mora con aqua (on the weekdays) or a mezcal mule, w MEZCAL (on the weekends). Like I said this is a really great spot. I would definitely check it out if you're in the Hackensack area and have no reservations anywhere. 9/10 for me for sure!

Everything about this place is special , the food is amazing, always cooked perfect, generous portions at great prices. There are a lot of Noches in NJ but The atmosphere here on Main Street in Hackensack is the best out of all of them especially on a Friday or Sat night great lively place. Park on Main Street or in the Parking lot, bakery there is also top notch, been here for breakfast Also fresh and delicious . Highly recommend this location.

I don't know why our experience was so different than others but we loved the food, the service and the ambiance in general. The service wasn't the fastest but the servers were nice, the food was super delicious and portions were generous (and the prices are hard to beat). This was our second time and we'll continue to be back. We got the mini empanadas, lomo saltado and desmechada arepa. All of them were very flavorful. Another important thing for me for most restaurants is having a clean bathroom and this place passed the test.

Food was delicious. Service was great, we went at a good time (lunch) it wasn't busy. Food came out pretty quickly we got the Aroz con pollo and it was so good the salad that comes with it was amazing!! Would come back again. The restaurant is also really nice good for a date night or big group.

Had a craving for Noches the other night and decided to order dinner from there. We have eaten at the restaurant in the past and was very familiar with the menu. We had ordered some empanadas, bandeja paisa, and chicharones. The food was delivered quickly and was still warm upon arrival. The empanadas were huge and stuffed with beef and the other one with cheese. They were delicious! The bandeja paisa is a traditional Colombian dish and knowing from previous times of having this meal---it's huge! In this dish there is white rice, beans, flat steak, chicharones, plantains, sausage, avocado, fried egg, and an arepa. That meal by itself is enough for 2 people and we still had food leftover afterwards. It tasted very good and fresh! You cannot go wrong with this meal! We had also order pandebono-it is one of favorites to order from their bakery. It's like a cheesy baked bread and you literally cannot just have just one! We had ordered a couple of those and ate them the next day for breakfast with coffee! Delicious! Overall, we had enjoyed our order from Noches de Colombia. I know this will not the be the last time I order. If only they were selling their tasty sangria with their to-go orders!

I have to start by saying the wait staff was very good and everyone was very friendly. We had a party of 10. The appetizers we ordered yucca chorizo arepa and tostone were fried for to long. I ordered the salmon it was bland and over cooked no flavor. The beans were cold it tasted like left over from the night before and microwaved. It seemed like chef doesn't give a dam and it showed in his food. Everyone will have a different experience and depends on the chef that cooks the food.unfortunately some chef have no pride.i would never serve something I wouldn't eat my self it would go into the garbage like this food should of been. Some of the other guests agreed with me the food really wasn't all that good. But they did say the other place in Elizabeth is much better.at least the cats enjoyed the salmon

Came in as a party of 2. Was seated right away. I didn't know they renovated the restaurant it looks really nice, the bakery is now on the opposite side of the restaurant and has its own lil store that is still part of the restaurant. For starters we got the yuca fries, and mango shake with milk, next time i would get it with water because it is kinda heavy. I ordered the chicken with white sauce and mushrooms. This is my favorite dish i get it every time i come. Food came out pretty fast i was honestly surprised. Would i come back? Yes

    Pan de bonos

Visiting family in the area and they took us here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Place is really spacious and I can just imagine how fun it is on weekends when they turn it into a club with live Latin music. I was excited to get some traditional Colombian food while I was on the east coast...can't find anything close in UT. I ordered several sides so I could get a little of all my faves. Yucca, platanos, arroz con frijoles, y arepa con queso. All spectacular and totally satisfied my cravings. We ordered pan de bonos to start and my goodness they were heaven. Crisp shell and chewy cheesy goodness in the center. My cousin ordered the mar y pollo and her mother-in-law ordered the mar y tierra. The plates were massive and full to the brim (so much so they both had to take home leftovers). They both enjoyed the cook of the shrimp (a bit of a crunch to start and grilled with burst of flavors) and the chicken was pounded nice and thin. Rice is cooked perfect. That is one thing I can never master and appreciate when I can get it while eating at restaurants. Ordered empanadas and pan de bono to take back home to my family and everyone loved it. Would love to come back next time and visit over the weekend nights to dance.

I mean if you live around here you will more than likely at some point in time check out Noches de Columbia. Upon moving here I found out it's like the number one place most people I know (who happen to be all different parts of the world, Latino/Spanish) love. I am obsessed with the passion fruit mixed drink they serve. It is so good! It comes in such a cute jar. I love their shrimp. The chicken is good but really salty. If you have kids and want to have a night with friends or family and not eat at McDonalds or worry about your kids bugging people, come here. It's loud and has music going so your kids won't stick out if they're being kids. My kids love coming here and dancing while we eat. The band is always sweet about it. I watched them give another little girl maracas to shake while her parents ate. I will come back here bc not only does Mommy need to get out of the house with decent food but their drinks ROCK and my kids enjoy it and allow me peace! Check it out.

Do yourself a favor and eat here. Everything always come out delicious. I do find that the service is slow. I've been here a couple times and it's consistently slow but the food makes up for it so I will continue to return in the future. One other weird thing is their menus. I've noticed that have 2 different menus. They're mostly the same with slight variations but the meal I usually order wasn't on one and was on the other which I found strange.

Anyway, came here on a weekday afternoon and wasn't busy at all- that's not to say that the food/bakery wasn't good. It was AMAZING. I got the lunch special which was chicken soup with breaded filet, salad and rice for $12.99. WHAT! And that portion was BIG as you can see from the pictures. Our server was attentive and got us whatever we needed almost right away! My breaded filet came out delicious. Perfect amount of crispy where it's not overdone and it wasn't drenched in any sauce that made the filet soggy. The house salad was simple yet flavorful and that chicken noodle soup was SO hearty that I wanted to go in the kitchen and scoop myself more. The place is big and bright and clean. Bakery on one side of the restaurant for quick take out and restaurant to the right. There's street parking but there's also parking in the back where the giant farmer market is, but it can be a busy lot. I came back here again with my husband another day and had another lunch special which was grilled chicken with mushroom sauce and my husband had a 16oz churrasco, all cooked to perfection. We got some bakery goods to go and we can't wait to have them later. Highly recommend this place!!

A Concerned Review of Pollos Mario…read more For years, my spouse and I have been loyal customers of Pollos Mario in Hackensack, NJ. We have enjoyed many meals here, from breakfast to lunch and dinner, supporting this establishment through economic ups and downs, a pandemic, and an influx of competition on Main Street. As one of the original Colombian restaurants in Hackensack, we have always hoped for the best for them, but recent experiences have left us concerned. While the food remains fresh and flavorful, Pollos Mario is no longer the only player in the game. With eight Colombian restaurants now within walking distance, the landscape has changed significantly. Recently, we found ourselves paying $32 for breakfast, which feels exorbitant. Reflecting on our past visits, it's evident that the portion sizes have shrunk considerably since pre-pandemic times. The arepa con queso, which used to cover the plate, now barely touches the edges. Both my spouse and I ordered Huevos Revueltos, priced at $13.90 each, which included scrambled eggs, a homemade potato, and corn cake with cheese. My spouse enjoyed a hot chocolate or coffee with their meal, while I was charged separately for my Aguapanela con Limón, a sugarcane lime drink that, upon receiving the bill, we discovered was not included with the breakfast and added an unexpected $5 charge for a tiny glass. This feels disproportionate for what is essentially a simple beverage. I understand that economic uncertainty is impacting many businesses, and restaurants need to find ways to stay afloat. However, the experience cannot come at the cost of customer satisfaction. It's disheartening that we now visit Pollos Mario only once or twice a month, down from two or three times a week. Price increases, smaller portions, and additional charges are not conducive to fostering loyalty among customers. I hope the owners take this feedback into consideration. We all want to see Pollos Mario thrive, but it's important to create an enjoyable experience without pricing customers out.
