Have you realized that the smallest restaurants usually have the best authentic meals, it's fresh just as if you were back home?! The staff are wonderful!! Very sweet and attentive. They are on top of it all! It's just a cozy place with 2 windows full of baked goods! Empanada, buñuelos, chicharron, you name it.. I had my eyes on everything! And i definitely placed a big order to bring back with me to Connecticut. We had a large group with us and we were all satisfied! Most of us had breakfast items to eat! Been making empanadas at home lately and wanted to try out some authentic ones. Happened to be next to the bus stop and decided to go and try a few out. Ordering is simple at the counter in front. there are a few seats to enjoy the food, it's a quiet cozy interior which allows for conversation. Definitely worth trying. We ordered a few of the chicken ones and it turned out to be pretty good (a little dry but the sauces go so well with them) I'm glad it was similar tasting to the ones I make. read more

Whenever I'm craving some good Colombian food I get some Noches. Their baked goods (pan de bono, palito de queso, empanada de cambray, boñuelos, arepa de choclo etc) are all amazing. The arepa paisa always hits the spot when I'm craving an arepa for lunch. The entrees are all great and substantial portions. The location on 32nd is one of the smaller spots, so I tend to order to go, but there's more than enough seating if you're wanting to eat in. Delicious Colombian food anytime of day!! Pan de bonos are a must when visiting. We've gone so many time under the new management and the service and taste never disappoint. They have an extensive menu and breakfast is served all day. Today we tried the soup of the day which was lentil soup and for my two sides I got white rice and maduros. My husband had the mini bandeja paisa with ground beef and my son had the rice with shrimp. So tasty and it was enough for lunch and dinner!! The bakery section offers a selection of delights. This is another of the places that friends familiar with the area recommended I come visit. Ever since I came to this locale (I have yet to try the others and from the looks of it, there is a NDC about every five blocks both North and South on Bergenline, all the way to 90th if I am not mistaken). What I love about this little place which is like a pocket restaurant is the friendliness of the girls at work, which makes their already hard work seem like an effortless dance. All of them are knowledgable about their menu, what works with what, suggestions on what plate to try (so as to not repeat the same comfortable dish over and over), and like the people of El Artesano, they don't hurry you through your meal or rush you through your drink or coffee so you can pay and get the heck out of there. The other night I was there at the stroke of 8:00, fully aware they close at 9:00, and I was still able to take my time, order, eat, and depart about the 45 minute mark. That is not to say, the place does get busy. Getting a seat around 6:00 pm on a workweek is next to impossible due to its size, but because I tend to have dinner later, I can always wait a bit before venturing back out. It's a perfectly sized little eatery where you can make a pit stop either before hitting New York City or, in my case, before getting home from a long day at work (provided it's not packed to the gills with people). Passion fruit juice is delicious, the empanadas are really good with that spicy sauce on the side and the food is really tasteful from chicharron to bandeja paisa to pan de bono excelente on the breakfast time. While the food here is good the service is abysmal. I wanted to place a order for take out and waited for someone to take my order. This took about 10 minutes and all the waitresses were NOT busy. About 7 of them were behind one cash register looking at either the screen of the register or at the phone one of them had out laughing at something they were looking at. After the 10 minutes they split up and one of the waitresses says who's next and before anyone can answer she begins to help the person behind me. I mention to her that I've been waiting 10 minutes and she tells me to place my order with one of the other waitresses and continues to help the person behind me. As any noches restaurant everything was great. Went here for a quick breakfast one morning and ordered cafe con leche and pan de bono. The waitress was welcoming and quick to attend us. I noticed there were only about 6 tables and I was able snatch the last one This is a great location to just go in order your stuff and go, not really a sit down and eat place. Regardless, I ate there and everything went well. The waitress would come and check on us and offered to put our coffee in a to go cup since we didn't finish all of it by the time we paid. Excellent service. Came during lunch time where we had to wait for a table for about 10 minutes but dispute the wait time, the time we got our food was remarkably fast. I ordered "pechuga marina" which is shrimp on top of chicken breast with a cheesy cream sauce. The chicken was surprisingly soft and well cooked. The shrimp was also well cooked. I also ordered platanos maduro which were very sweet as they are supposed to be but rarely are because of the restaurant business. I enjoyed them. The tostones are thin and crispy, I like them but they might not be everyone's cup of tea. Their natural juices are very fruit concentrated, not sure how they are made but they are nice. What really stood out to me was when the manager or owner came to our table and asked us how we were doing as well as taking out empty plates the not only bringing us a to-go box but packed the food into the boxes himself and placed them in the bag.
