Organic vegan tamales are Fabulosa! Just wish they were larger for the price. Unknowingly we ordered a big order and about fell over with the price. We froze them and they were wonderful for a quick lunch or dinner. Can't beat the taste! Yum! Lost a few because they got freezer burn as we just put them in the freezer like she gave them to us so won't do a large order like that again. If she did not have oil in these I could eat them everyday! I avoid oil because of its calorie density and no nutritional benefits. read more

Great Vegan and Chicken Tamales! The best I have had in Georgia.

These are the best tamales that money can buy in the Atlanta area hands down. Noemi is a nice lady that works very hard making the best tasting tamales around. You can buy them hot and ready to eat or get some frozen to heat up later. My favorite are the brisket Cadillac and pork rojo with a few sides of hot sauce. A secret I learned when heating the frozen tamales at home is to let them thaw a little, then steam them; then I take them out of the corn shuck and roll them in an oiled frying pan to make the outsides a little crisp. read more

Unfortunately, these tamales manage to be both WAY too expensive ($25 for 7 tamales) and disappointingly bland. Why should you trust me? I have a Hispanic surname, I grew up in Arizona, and I've made my own tamales with my aunts. The packaging =========== Packaging is what you would expect: tamales in corn husks, in foil, in a brown paper bag. The price ======== The price is highway robbery. At an average of OVER $3 PER TAMALE, the cost alone should have warned me about these tamales. Traditionally, tamales are priced by the dozen and paying around $2 per tamale is considered very expensive. I continued because I assumed (incorrectly) that these were some kind of gourmet tamales. The product ========== This is where these absolutely fall on their face. Tamales are made with masa Harina (a kind of powdered and treated cornmeal), water, lard, and a filling. Traditionally, these fillings include spiced and shredded beef or pork. These are non traditional flavors (rice and bean tamales? Really?), with bland flavors, and made with masa that appeared to be past its prime. Summary ======== There are LOTS of other places to get your tamale fix in the Atlanta area. Pick just about any of them and you'll most likely have a better tamale experience and spend less money in the process. read more

NO MAS! We discovered these tamales at the Newtown Farmer's Market and were very excited to try them. We purchased the chicken and garlic, and the hot and spicy tamale. It is very obvious that these tamales are homemade with choice ingredients. However, we both found the chicken tamale to be very bland, virtually salt/seasoning free. Although the spicy tamale was better, it was not seasoned enough, you basically just tasted the heat. What a shame that something as simple as salt and seasoning got in the way of these being really good tamales. Hopefully, they are actively soliciting feedback to improve their product. They have a basically good product but it could be great with a little extra attention. read more

Try the pork! They had me at Boston butt, I tried the mild pork and spicy pork, both were very flavorful! My son got the garlic chicken and gobbled it up - toddler approved. Also, the spicy pork was not overly spicy (about a medium spice) it had a a really enjoyable kick! Will be purchasing more in the future! Tried the tamales first at the marietta farmers market, I had the chicken one, which basically consisted of mass and chicken. Growing up in an ethnic family, I have had my fair share of tamales and from past experience, the quality of the ingredients is great and the homemade aspect is a heartwarming plus but a little more flavor would up the quality. read more

Best tamales I've ever had! Noemi was nice enough to meet me at her store on Memorial Day to deliver some frozen tamales. I steamed them for about an hour on the stove, and they were perfect. Very good texture and a lot of delicious fillings. This was the first time I tried them so I got 5 different kinds. All were excellent, but my favorite so far is the Garlic Chicken followed by the Pinto Bean (mild) and Mild Pork. The spicy stuff is hot (to me), but still very good. Recommended! read more

My husband really loves Tamales. I found Noemi's Tamales on line, including menu, contact number and address. We called about 3 times, with only an answering machine. Left one message. Call never returned. My husband actually drove to their listed address, and the business DOES NOT EXIST! This is truly weird. I noticed David G. gave a positive review, but this was almost a year ago. Maybe they did exist - who knows. Found them at John's Creek farmers market at New Town today. Best tamale I've eating east of Texas since '95. Really nice to know I'm no longer at the mercy of what most Mexican Restaurants call tamales which is no more quality than if I had them frozen in Texas and had them shipped.
