I had 3 chicken tacos via DoorDash. They were yummy. 2 Mexican on corn tortillas and one American on corn tortilla. They were very good, the tortilla tasted fresh - was very soft, the chicken was seasoned very nice. Added avocado on 2 so paid an additional fee but neither came with avocado. Was excited to see this place as I just moved into the area. Had stopped by on a walk the week prior and was hooked. Big place but had a local ethnic vibe that screamed "good food and low prices". Finally made it in but wasn't too hungry. Grabbed a bean and cheese quesadilla with a beer. Excited to see they had negro Modelo. The food was decent and included a very good hot sauce. But paying over $9 for a regular size tortilla with refried beans didn't sit right with me. I drove all the way here because this place had five stars! This place did not disappoint. I tried the Menudo for the first time here and let me tell you it was very delicious! The restaurant has an unpleasant smell when you walk in. The food was decent and everything was fine until my husband grabbed his utensil pack and noticed the roach walking on it. He gave it to the person working and they acted like it was normal and just handed him a new pack. read more

The cashier who I assume is the owner was super kind. When he found out it was our first time, he let us sample the tortillas which they make in house. The horchata is pretty good. I got the flautas and my boyfriend got the tacos de chicharron, lengua, and tripa as well as the seasoned chicken sopa. The meats for the tacos were insanely tender and delicious. The tripa was probably my favorite and the most flavorful. The flautas were stuffed purely with chicken which i appreciated. The sope was my favorite though. Perfect texture and balance of flavors. WOW! Can't believe it took us this long to try Tacos Del Chavo and it's our new favorite Mexican restaurant! I found it on Yelp as the highest rated restaurant in the area. We ordered at the bar and they brought the food and drinks to our table. They don't have a drink menu to look at, but they serve beer and margaritas (one flavor). My husband said his birria taco (with homemade flour tortilla) was quite honestly the best taco he's ever eaten! He ended up ordering 3 more to bring home for dinner tonight . Home made tortillas will always be a win in my book!!! I ordered three steak tacos (Mexican style). The tortillas were fresh and hot the steak was flavorful but cold. I asked for the hottest salsa and let's just say they definitely lacked the punch of heat i was craving. So in replace i ordered some grilled jalapeños and OMG after i added a little salt i devoured them with my tacos! You order at a station adjacent to the bar. Once your order is placed, you sit at your choice of one of the numerous picnic tables or the booths lining two walls. There is no outdoor seating. The server who took our order, Andy, was super helpful and explained to my better half which items were gluten-free. Andy stated that they prepare the masa and corn flour for their tortillas in-house and that these ingredients did not contain flour. After preparing your order, the food is delivered to you at your table. The service is amazing, super helpful, and very friendly and outgoing. I see why this place has almost a perfect five stars. It was absolutely absolutely amazing. I went here for the first time today and ordered three tacos American style and they were absolutely phenomenal. I couldn't believe how delicious they were. Also the service is impeccable. The Individual at the front that took our order was super nice and so with our waiter that brought us the food. The chips and salsa were good. I liked how the chips were warm and not very salty. We went here per recommendations online! When you walk in, it's a friendly atmosphere. You order up front and get a table number for them to bring your food. I ordered chicken flautas which weren't greasy at all! The chicken was tender and the salad mix on top was refreshing! It came with a side of rice and delicious refried beans! My husband got the steak street tacos. They were jam packed with tender, no gristle steak! They also came with refried beans and rice. I'm definitely getting this next time! The manager is so nice and came by to make sure we were doing good. I would have never found this restaurant since it's tucked away in the back of the plaza. Y'all need to check this place out. Tacos Del Chavo is authentic Mexican food! The tortillas are hand made, and you can tell. We ordered quite a few different things. Everything was good, but there were a few standouts: The chorizo and pork belly tacos were my favorite! All the others were still good, but didn't blow me away. The empanadas were some of my favorites I've ever had. You order individuals, so I recommend getting 2 or 3. We got it with chorizo and cheese - a must! The empanadas themselves are crunchy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside (photo included). There was a good amount of meat inside and super flavorful! Now for the non-standout: The Enchiladas Verdes was good, but not sure I would get it again. It was actually a little bland. The inside was pretty spacious and staff was awesome! I've never actually been, but I can't wait to return after our experience. I'm applauding the folks of Tacos Del Chavo for their tacos and service alone. I'll explain: Our buddies got married recently. On 2/22/22, in fact, which happened to also fall on a Tuesday. And given my love for tacos, I was aghast when I realized our friends missed an opportunity to turn their nuptial dining experience into a Taco Tuesday. My husband and I were prepared to fix that, however. As the bride and groom began to dance the night away, I snuck outside to call this establishment with the intention to treat the bride and groom with some tacos and grab a few extras for ourselves and our table mates. The only caveat was that the restaurant was set to close shortly. I immediately apologized for calling so close to closing time and I explained that our friends were getting married at a venue about 5 minutes away and we wanted to treat them to a taco Tuesday wedding surprise. They were nothing but gracious, accommodating and thrilled to help out. My husband dashed over there to pick up the tacos, which were so reasonably priced for what we received. He mentioned how kind and lovely the staff was when he went to pick up the order. When he returned, I unabashedly stuffed several of those these lovely little asada (grilled steak) Mexican street tacos into my face one after another. They were beautifully topped with diced onion and cilantro - some on corn and some on flour tortillas. We felt confident the bride and groom would also love their mid-dance treat as well. I haven't been into the new location but I'll tell you about my first visit to the old one: Hadn't been there before, and I'm that guy that always asks "what's good" or "what do you recommend" when I order. The guy was so nice and explained a bunch to me, and when we got our food he included an extra taco, the one I didn't order when I was choosing between the two, so I could try it. Great dinner experience tonight. Outdoor dining on delicious food! This "hole in the wall" restaurant has a one page menu with very reasonable prices. I got a chicken quesadilla that was delicious. I also got a steak empanada that was good but really needed some salt or cheese. It was a little bland. My husband got a chicken burrito which he devoured. He tried the red sauce with a chip and said (or couldn't say) it was very hot, but good. I liked that the portion sizes were just right.
