I have been dying to this place after having tacos from their truck. I can confirm the brick and mortar is just as good as I remembered the truck being. The seating area is typical of a small strip mall restaurant. About a dozen or so tables with Mexican themed decor and music playing. It's very bright and clean which I appreciate. Upon entry you immediately come up to the order counter and menu boards. We were greeting promptly by a friendly face. We ordered nachos, a burrito, and two tacos. All of the food was excellent. I have two words for you: green sauce. I shouldn't say anything more but that's mean. We went to Truck & Tap tonight (look how fast I am!) BECAUSE of the taco food truck. I peeked at the menu beforehand but I didn't see the carne asada fries until we got to the truck. In hindsight, I should've gotten birria. But I can't hear of steak & fries and just order something else... I'm just a girl... The fries were good; but if you're looking for like, meaty, grilly flavor - my particular order fell a little short. As pub food? Phenomenal. I also got a chips & guac, not realizing there was guac on the fries - should've tried their queso. The guac is fine; I don't know what I expected. It looks and tastes super fresh but it's pretty standard. My husband won dinner tonight. He got the taco trio and went with two carnitas tacos and a chorizo taco, and a side of street corn. I didn't get to taste the carnitas so know that... The street corn? Yes. The chorizo taco? Ooh-wee. You know what I'm saying? That warm spicy chorizo taste, a little crispy action... So good. He also had a lemon sour from inside and enjoyed that. And the green sauce? I went up to the truck and said "Friend, what is that?!" To me, it could go southern or Tex-Mex; that sauce on collard greens??? Thank me later. I would've sworn it had vinegar in it, but it's just tomatillos, onion, cilantro & peppers. Thumbs up for that salsa verde, FR. And the super friendly gentleman running the truck tonight. Shout out to him. The vibe behind Truck & Tap tonight was immaculate. The temperature was perfect, we had some gorgeous fall golden hour light, there was a decent hum of activity... Excellent all around! Food, customer service, clean restaurant, great hours! One very happy customer! Great location off of Baker road located in the Publix shopping plaza. Plenty of parking available outside. Located right next to entrance so very easy to enter and exit plaza. Their current hours are 11:00am-11:00pm seven days a week. They're pretty active on their social media pages, too. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman named Howard behind the counter and he was very welcoming and genuinely seemed happy to be there (we visited on Labor Day, around 6:00pm). Customer service is BIG for me so I was very satisfied that he was helpful and wore a smile. He brought our food to our table and even stopped by to check on us which was very nice! Plenty of seating available inside and they even had two tables outside that could seat 4 people each. I had three asada (steak) tacos with cilantro and onions. They come neatly packaged in a to-go box with two small containers of sauce and freshly sliced radish and limes. The asada is always juicy and never dry. SO GOOD! I also get a side of rice with beans. They asked if I wanted pinto or black beans. The black beans are very good! Seasoned well. One of my favorite things they offer is the hot Cheetos esquites (corn) - DELICIOUS! Mild heat but perfectly seasoned and it's just so good. Try it! My husband and son love their hot Cheetos burrito - it's gigantic! Great price compared to other places. They also have a hot Cheetos quesadilla but we haven't tried that yet. They have horchata and also served Coca Cola products. I believe they also have agua frescas! Desserts range from fresh churros, cheesecake, chocolate cake and some others. They had upbeat Spanish music playing softly in the background. Plenty of customers stopped in while we sat and ate our meals. I saw signage that they can be ordered on UberEats and GrubHub. I am SO HAPPY one of our favorite taco spots opened a location closer to us. We used to order pick-up from the Smyrna location whenever my husband was on that side of town at his barbershop. We couldn't really enjoy eating inside because the Smyrna location is very small so we always chose pick-up. The new Kennesaw location is so cute! It's clean, spacious, plenty of seating. Clean restroom (I only visited the women's and they did not have a changing table available, just FYI). It's much more welcoming and inviting. It was previously Chilitos (I have never eaten there before) so to my understanding the restaurant itself had a nice makeover. I absolutely loved it and had a great first experience dining inside the restaurant at this new location. read more

Just ordered Uber Eats from this place for the 17th time (not joking). I love it. California Burrito is my go-to but I haven't had anything bad here. I've had the quesadillas, Horchata, burrito, supreme, Birria pizza, all the tacos, and probably more I'm forgetting. The red sauce is so unique and delicious. Their green sauce is good as well, but the red has this awesome Smokey flavor. Hope this place stays around forever. Going to try a torta next time. read more

Nice surprise I tried to go to Mexican chain fast serve restaurant that just opened up the street, but that place was out of steak so I headed over here. Did not realize they had new owners and totally revamped the place, nice surprise. Menu had a lot of great options but got the asada tacos since I was in the mood for steak. Such a waste, it's the same exact portion size they just try to trick u with a different kind of container. Also don't know who I pissed off but my meat was literally all fat and half cold, and the broth was too. Loved it so much the first time but I guess u win some and u lose some, such a shame. I started eating at this location about 20 years ago when it opened as Chilitos. When I saw the business changed hands, I was worried I would lose one of my favorite lunch spots, but I was determined to not jump to conclusions. Today I went back for the first time since the reopen. The pros: The remodel looks nice. The lady at the register was friendly. They didn't significantly increase prices like I thought they might (at least not on the menu, though I'll address portion size in a moment). They have lots of meat options (some up charges apply), and they have a good assortment of sodas available to drink, as well as flavored waters with stuff like cucumber, hibiscus, etc. The cons: Drinks - there's no tea option, and only option for water is to buy a bottle. No option for a cup for water. And the sodas are 20oz sodas, so don't come thirsty. Chips - chips with the meal are a thing of the past. Chips are a $1.50ish upcharge. Salsa is extra too, if you want it. Entree - no customizations. Where you could previously add some onion or peppers, maybe some cilantro, there's none of that anymore. The food comes how it comes. You can leave things off, but there's no option for customizing your meal. I had a bowl with grilled chicken. There was little-to-no meat, and what was there didn't really have much flavor. It had lettuce and cheese on it, but that was literally a few pieces of shredded iceberg lettuce and so little cheese it's not worth mentioning. (If you put a quarter on the table and piled all the cheese on it, the quarter wouldn't be covered.) Finally, the quantity of food in the bowl was maybe half of what I used to get at Chilitos (even after the business sale when Las Tejitas just hadn't remodeled yet.) I've been eating here 20 years, and today I'm sad because one of my favorite lunch spots is now gone. Go catch Willy's, Surcheros, Chipotle, or even Moe's. They're all a better choice than Las Tejitas. read more

Food trash!! Literal garbage not only did the food caused me to be sick throwing up randomly in the middle of the night. It just didn't taste that pleasant while eating at all. Portions have gotten a lot smaller!!! I've noticed that both the fajitas and quesadillas are about 25% smaller than when they initially opened. The quesadilla used to be 4 separate pieces, now it's 3..... also the fajitas used to be about 10-15 steak slices now it 5-10. I understand that business needs to make money, but not this quickly in restaurant business, especially since you're paying wholesale prices for the ingredients.... read more

I reviewed this place two months ago, and gave it two stars. It was just ok. Unknowingly, I ordered from here again today (forgot the name!), so I wanted to share my experience again, and I'm happy to say it was very different. Today, we ordered the tacos (3 with your choice of meats) with rice and beans. Last time, the tacos weren't great. Today they had much more flavor. They come with flour tortillas, which is unfortunate. They come looking like traditional street tacos ( onion and cilantro), but traditional come with corn tortillas....so I wish they'd at least offer that option. Second, they aren't served with radish, cucumber, or jalapeño, which would make me rate them higher. We also got a steak quesadilla, which comes with a "salad" (cheese, lettuce, avocado). I ordered both dishes with the spicy red sauce. The steak quesadilla was very good. Nice texture, good flavor, and the salad goes nicely on top. I wish it came with a little sour cream (I know, I know), but since I got delivery, I had some in my fridge and used it. The spicy red sauce had a slight smoky flavor, which was outstanding, and was a nice level of heat. So that's my update, and now I will try them again. read more
