    Coffee and crepes

Confused about the name change to 555 crepes, but so glad we found this place! Legit coffee, and legit crepes. First time being here and we will definitely be back!!!

This place is a gem. I had the strawberries and cream crepe and a skinny vanilla latte. It was so good. They stuff it with strawberries. They are not stingy with them like most places. I love a good crepe and they are hard to find. I will be back to try others. They have a lot of different ones. They do have other breakfast options. I didn't bother to look though. Several different coffees and teas to chose from. I'm excited to try the teas. The staff was very pleasant. This is a must place to try. I will be back for sure!

Good quality coffee and the crepes were spot on. The ginger bourbon peach was tasty but the croque madam won my heart. A terrific savory dish that surprised me. They also offer gluten free options for the crepes. While I did not partake, I'm glad they make the effort. Lots of specials on coffee and unique offerings for boba varieties.

    The CremeBrulee Crepe!!!... That is actual hardened sugar on top and a delicate custard inside!!! W O R T H I T ! ! !

I strolled in here because I was in the area and had an hour+ to kill just before noon. Needed a pleasant coffee and something to pair it with. Reviews were good and not everywhere does crepes. The front door is set aside and causes a question of the atmosphere upon entry. The store itself is simple and long with an open setup and bar seating. The menu has a variety of choices and options not usually found elsewhere. Next time I need to try their teas...! I had a WhiteMocha and the CremeBrulee crepe. Sooooo Happy with my life choices right now!!! The coffee was PERFECT!!! Not: super hot, rich, sweet, bold... anything... Well presented, precisely flavored, and just what I secretly wanted inside! The Crepe!.!.!.!.!.!. Totally try that one! It's such an experience beyond most crepes!!! The custard did not spill out with cutting but stayed with every bite! The sugar on top was just what you want from CremeBrulee. The decadence was not overbearing!!! Can't wait to try more!!!

Had a lovely breakfast today. Tried the smoke salmon crepe and the loose tropical coconut oolong tea. The crepe was great. Maybe a teensy bit salty, but given that it's made with smoked salmon, I won't give them too hard of a time for that. The crepe itself was cooked nicely, and the onions inside were a tangy, lightly crunchy compliment to the other components. I enjoyed my tea and the chance to try one I've not had before. They have a nice set-up if condiments you pick from to doctor you your drinks or dishes. The service was friendly and prompt. Not rushed but not slow. WiFi allowed me to get some work done while enjoying a more indulgent breakfast than the typical work day. I'll definitely be back to enjoy some more offerings in the future. Keep up the good work, Noe's.

    California Turkey Crepe

Great whole in the wall place. There is a little bit of a wait for the food but it is worth every bit of it. They make every order fresh. I had the Turkey crepe and it is to die for. Will be back for sure

Poor sanitation. Owner cannot take feedback; has attitude. Checked in at 11:52 and waited 20 minutes for a crepe and a sandwich at which point we were told we had "two orders in front of us". In that time I observed: Spring mix greens sit out on an unrefrigerated ledge. Bare, unwashed hands are used to level out espresso grounds before putting on the espresso machine. Non-disposable, filthy looking rags are used to clean the counter. What seems like the owner's wife told her son who brought out drinking glasses from the back not to place them with the rim touching the counter. He disregarded her, the way adolescent sons disregard their mothers, and he flipped them over but did not remove the contaminated cups. Mom then came by with a rag she pulled out of her apron (contaminated?) and wiped down all the glasses to place on the condiments station for the lemon water. When I first got there, I went to get a glass of the lemon water and decided against it because all of the glasses had condensation or were dirty--and were (against mom's instructions) placed rim down. Plenty of warm bodies standing around in each other's way but not getting food out means hugely inflated labor costs and they still don't manage to get a sandwich made in 20 minutes or more. I approached the owner and asked for a refund so we could leave. He didn't engage at all to ask why we were leaving and wanting a refund. He handed me back a receipt with only the food refunded and a comment at the bottom that said "couldn't wait". I told him that he needed to remove the drinks as well. He said "you got those though, right?" And I pointed to the half consumed drinks on the counter and said "yea, but I'm not leaving because I 'couldn't wait' I'm leaving because you have serious issues with sanitation". As he was working the register, I pointed out to my dining partner the counters being cleaned off with nasty looking rags. The owner looked back at her and didn't seem bothered at all, not saying a word to her. He refunded the two coffees and we left at 12:20.

Creme Brûlée (left), California (right) crepes.

Hands down one of the best crepes I've had. We had the Creme Brûlée and California crepes and both were bomb! The creme brûlée crepe was caramelized to perfection with just the right crunch to it. The California crepe was stuffed with avocado, cheese and turkey deliciousness. The Thai iced tea was served at the right tea and cream ratio. The service was beyond amazing, Daniel welcomed us with a great smile and good jokes. Definitely made this cafe feel like a home away from home. Thanks for making this Texas stop an amazing one!

Wholly Crepe!! Russian Bistro - Tomball…read more What does authentic Russian hospitality look like? It looks less like a restaurant and more like a small doorway into someone's home -- a place where food is not rushed, and conversation is part of the meal. EXTERIOR: At first glance the building is modest, almost shy. A few outdoor seats, a quiet frontage, and public parking just around the corner. The kind of place you could easily pass -- and shouldn't. INTERIOR: Once you go up the steps, open the door, and the Northwest Houston surroundings fall away. The room feels lifted from a Russian village house, ( ): warm wood floors, wooden window frames, and intimate spacing. If you've ever been to Russia or watched any of the Russian movies or cartoons, this space will be familiar. Four tables and sixteen chairs, sit to the left; to the right, a narrow staircase evokes a country dacha, (). Larger tables gather families together, even a few small chairs waiting for children. Main room offers unique, (in glass shelves) Lomonosov Porcelain 1744 dishes, from St. Petersburg. As well as, carved wooden dishes, hand-painted details. Ask Mila and Bill for details. RUSSIAN HOSPITALITY: Arriving shortly after opening, Bill greeted me with a smile. Conversation came naturally and without agenda, as if we've known each other a long time. Mila, came out shortly after from the kitchen and I was able to converse with her in Russian and English. Both shared their meet story and how they decided to start this adorable business, May 2015. The story feels better heard from them directly. I set down to look at their abundant menu options. Meals here require patience. Many dishes are prepared from scratch. Part of Russian Hospitality is to welcome you in to their home, sit you down, spike up a genuine conversation and make a delicious home cooked meal. The rhythm slows; the outside schedule becomes irrelevant. I decided to order four of their popular dishes; #7 Tvorog Crepe, #24 Smoked Salmon Crepe, Siberian Pelmeni Bowl, and Cheburek. Let's go over each dish briefly. Gordon Ramsay once said - The way to know when something is cooked from scratch or microwaved is by the amount of steam or sizzling coming from the plate. #7 Tvorog Crepe - $12 Homemade Ricotta Cheese, Choice of Berries, Condensed Milk or Honey. I ordered mine with mixed berries, white powder and condensed milk. Something about taking each bite dipped in condensed milk with all the toppings makes your taste buds dance. Generous portions. #24 Smoked Salmon Crepe - $16 Tvorog Cheese, Salmon, Cherry Tomato, Green Onion, Salted Dill. As someone that adores a good salmon dish, clean flavors and a proper texture contrast -- delicate fish against warm crepe. The pairing works and generous portion. Siberian Pelmeni Bowl (24ct) - $17 Handmade dumplings in butter with your choice of dipping sauce. True Russian Hospitality - dish ware presentation along with the cuisine. The three-layered, brown color bowl looked presentable. Pelmeni looked freshly made and the steam coming from the bowl would make Gordon Ramsay smile. A slightly meatier filling would improve the ratio, but the flavor remains familiar and nostalgic. Cheburek - $9.50 Handmade Fried Meat Pie filled with Ground Beef & Onion. Served with your choice of dipping sauce. Good presentation and the taste was a good pairing combination with sour cream. Exterior texture was crispy, while the interior was soft. A fuller filling would strengthen it. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: While photographing the dishes, some cooled before I could eat them. Mila noticed and worried -- a small moment can be explained. If you've been around a Russian woman, you know they want nothing but the best for you when it comes to food. Wholly Crepe!! Offers some of the most unique and delicious cuisines for those who crave something different. Everything is made to order, from scratch, in small batches preserving authenticity and flavor. Come prepared to pause. The reward is a meal that feels cooked for you, not merely served to you.

Glass Mountain Magazine held an open-mic event here as a part of their annual Boldface conference,…read morewhich is what brought me here. I'll admit that I was somewhat disappointed when I walked in that it didn't seem authentic like I thought it would be. I expected a real French atmosphere and staff, but obviously that's not fair to the place. That's not a critique, but the expectation did influence my experience. The second thing I notice was about the "house-made flavors" for the coffee. I saw the adjective of "house-made" in the Yelp menu pictures which is what got me excited. In-house syrups is the factor that brings me to a coffeeshop. That's what tells me this is the real deal, that this place is putting in real effort to craft a balance drink. Melange realizes this as well. They knew that would draw people, but let me tell you, these flavors are not "house-made." I literally saw a bottle of Monin syrup on the counter. How that is made in house I can't comprehend. Look, I saw the jars of nutella on the counter behind the glass wall, which may make my question sound stupid, but I dumbly thought those were just for the crepes. So when I walked up to the register, I asked the guy "How do you make the nutella flavor for the coffee?" I wanted to know because I myself have tried mixing nutella into my drip coffee at home and it never dissolves. In response, he stared at me in confusion. I rephrased: "Like how do you put the nutella in the latte?" He simply said, "Thin nutella." I did not confront him about the "house-made" adjective on the chalkboard. I did not have it in me. But I thought maybe this could still be good. I was handed a paper cup, which also disappointed me, for I expected a mug, but I can only hold that against myself. The real cardinal sin of coffeeshops that was committed here was that I could not taste the coffee. I am not kidding when I say it tasted like hot nutella milk and that was it. Obviously it tasted good-I like the taste of nutella. But that's not what I ordered. Now again I'm non-confrontational and there were only two employees who were working on a bunch of other orders so I didn't bother complaining. But the lack of coffee in my latte is the bulk of my frustration with Melange Creperie. I also should mention that my latte was decaf, which could have contributed to the distinct lack of coffee taste, I'm not sure, but that seems like an important detail. Now I did enjoy my sausage crepe. The white cheddar and egg were smooth and velvety and the mustard added a nice acidity to contrast with the andouille sausage. But it does feel overpriced at $16 and I wish there was a bit more sausage. If I lived in Houston, I would probably return to try more crepes, but I would never order coffee from here again.
