We went up to Albany to watch a wrestling event at the Armory, had some time to kill, and went into Noho Pizza for dinner. The place was very small, but that's basically the only thing you can possibly complain about. Specialty slices were 3 dollars each, very reasonable. 6 garlic knots for 2 bucks. Noho Pizza is one the best pizzerias here in Albany. I had chicken bacon ranch pizza which was amazing. It is located on Lark street and parking is a major issue. If you are visiting I would suggest either calling ahead for take out or ask for delivery. It is very clean and surprisingly friendly people work here. Noho's GF - gluten free pizza is awesome; as good as it can get. It is no comparison to cardboard GF pizza at other places. I strongly recommend for GF lovers. Beware that GF pizza is baked in the same oven as regular pizza, so it may get a dust of gluten, in case you are exceptionally sensitive to gluten. read more

The food (a chick parm sub and an Italian sub) was "okay", though the Italian according to my friend was wrong because it included a honey ham (WTH?), the chicken reasonable good, but not a "oh my I need to get that again!" However the service was HORRID. We ordered our subs to go, and were told it would be 15 minutes, which seemed a little long as it was crowded at all, however I thought perhaps there were a lot of delivery orders in the queue. But then it dragged on much longer. It wasn't until my friend went the counter that we discovered our subs had been there for quite awhile. The counter person had been in and out of the store several times, was chatting with friends, and generally inattentive. In addition, though I love the natural 'fro look, it is not appropriate in a food service venue. She did not sanitize her hands after eating some ice cream, touching her face, or petting a dog that came in. I've been going here for a while because I live in the area. While the pizza is decent for the area with VERY generous amounts of toppings, it can sometimes be a bit bland. The slices and sandwiches are very large, and the calzones are enormous! The staff are always friendly to me. Wanted to update my former review about the gluten free pizza... the pizza is still really great, but we've had 50/50 luck with my boyfriend (who has celiac) getting sick after eating the pizza. We still order, because it's still the best gf pizza in town and to him, it's worth it, but for others with celiac, be sure to stress the importance of cross-contamination when placing your order. It seems like they are not automatically cautious when you order gf pizza. That said, if your not celiac-level sensitive, its still the best game in town. read more

Tonight I ordered a bacon and ricotta pizza for delivery. It came with ricotta and TURKEY bacon. Bacon and Turkey bacon are two completely different substances. One is divine; one is disgusting. In Albany, unfortunately, this may be the best New York style pizza outside of New York City itself. It's certainly not NYC quality, but it makes a decent effort to get there. The crust was pretty thin and stayed oddly (in a good way) crispy on the bottom. It wasn't like a Neapolitan or an apizza (you're seeing that right). When we headed for the road trip to explore, we decied to stop by in Albany first to see some friends. It was lunch time so we wanted to try the pizzas at Noho Pizza. There were couple of tables outside so we sat there. We ordered one Margarita and one pepperoni pizza. The order came really quick. I tried the Margarita pizza first, it was amazing. I am very picky about pepperoni pizza, but they make the pepperoni pizza exactly how I like it. So it was a perfect lunch for me. One of the best pizzas I have ever had. My husband and I had the margarita pizza and my kids had the pepperoni. We were all so impressed with how tasty it was we couldn't stop talking about it. Maybe I couldn't stop. The crust was perfect. Not too thick, not too thin. The sauce and cheese tasted fresh and delicious. I don't claim to be a pizza expert but I grew up in NYC and we have tried all the famous pizza places. We are huge fans of Nick's, Angelo's, Grimaldi's and have totally waited the one hour to get seated at Baba Louie's and yet this pizza at Noho on Lark street really stood out. Actually really good pizza, with a nice thin crust and lots of toppings. However on my last 2 trips here I've been stalked by a homeless black man looking for my change. He'll sit in the back until you pay for your food and head for the door, and then he'll rush out ahead of you and make his pitch you as soon as you step foot outside. Ordered cheese pizza and tried the chicken gyro. The pizza wasn't great at all. Tasted like cafeteria pizza, best way to describe it. The gyro choices of meat is chicken or beef. The chicken is sliced breaded chicken. Besides the pita bread and sauce, it didn't taste like a gyro at all. Definitely wouldn't order gyro from here, although it was decently large portion. Pizza arrived early. Listed a number the guy said he tried to call but nothing showed on my phone(i Always get missed calls on my phone). I have an out of state code and he dialed a local code instead. So instead he woke everyone in my building by honking incessantly. Pizza wasn't horrible, but it wasn't hot AT ALL! And it was bland. Sorry I wasted my money and tip. If I order from them again, they will be paying me to do so. I am very surprised they are still in business. Pizza is good, especially the gluten free pizza for those who are gluten intolerant. However, I ordered said gluten free cheese pizza for pick up, which is advertised right on the window as $12.99 for a large, and somehow came to $16.25. Now I'm no mathematician, but you don't need to be one to figure the sales tax should be just a dollar. When brought to her attention at time of pickup, she awkwardly said that it is the only way it can be rung up and didn't give any money back or apologize. Didn't make much sense, and I felt as they were taking extra money for no good or service in exchange.. which is the definition of a fraud not to mention. I accepted the pizza regardless of the sketchy matter and let them know they should change the advertised price, even though she never denied that was the price. Ordered the cheese steak pizza, which was described as having steak and basil.... the latter being one of my favorite flavors on food. There was literally not a single shaving of basil anywhere on the pizza. I also ordered wings with the following special instructions: "Extra extra extra crispy. Like almost burnt crispy.
