If I could give 0 or negative stars, I would. DO NOT USE - see review below
We had an absolutely horrific experience with Nolan Select Floors, and would advise anyone to avoid using their services. This has been a long, painful process, but I will start from the beginning.
We were closing on a condo in NYC and were looking to get the floors redone prior to moving in. We were on a tight timeframe, and John and his team promised they would have our floors done before move in day. We received an email from them the day before we were to move in saying that the job was "complete." So, that day, we rushed to the apartment looking forward to opening the door to our new apartment with beautifully done floors. To our horror, we walked into the complete opposite. The floors were covered in sawdust, we could barely see the floors and all the grooves were yellow with dust. The floors were scratched sporadically, the floors were uneven. Apart from the floors, our walls were destroyed - there were holes in the wall, chunks of the walls missing, and black scratches up and down throughout the apartment. Finally, the baseboard molding was so poorly installed - there were huge gaps between pieces, joints were poor when they were actually connected, and they were uneven. Needless to say we immediately called John and, to his credit, he showed up and agreed that the apartment was in poor shape. However, this would be the last bit of attentiveness and only glimmer of good in this entire experience.
We were stuck in a bind at this point, moving in the next day with embarrassing "new" floors. The crew came back a total of 3 additional times to attempt to fix the job, but still could not fix a number of the issues. When they got the apartment and floors back to "good enough" we settled on a negotiated price to reflect the quality of the work and called it a day.
Fast forward 3 weeks of being in our new apartment, a number of new issues came up. Floor boards throughout the apartment were coming loose, some were shifting and separating from the walls / baseboard molding leaving huge gaps, more and more areas became uneven. We immediately contacted Nolan Select Flooring, and went back and forth with them for over 2 months with no resolution to these issues. They kept promising to come inspect / fix the apartment, but would never show up when they said they would be there. After 2 no-shows, Nolan has now stopped returning emails, texts, phone calls, etc. This has now required us to redo and pay for our floors AGAIN.
This is completely unacceptable behavior from any contractor, and I urge anyone considering to use Nolan Select Flooring to reconsider and find a new contractor immediately.
For reference, I have included a number of pictures from our "first reveal" nightmare as well as the issues that came about shortly after our official move in. As you can imagine, Nolan Select Flooring made what was supposed to be an exciting point in our life an absolute nightmare. We wouldn't wish this experience on anyone in the world. read more
