We asked for a full highlight and haircut with no blow dry. When we arrived home, my daughter went and dried her hair and literally lost her mind! Her highlights were orange color with a huge quarter inch strip of highlight that ran parallel to her center part on the right side. After spending $262 (tip included), all I wanted was my daughter to absolutely love her hair! I called the salon back immediately and told them that highlights were brassy orange with a huge strip that was present, they asked me to come back in. 25 minutes later we arrived back. I will say they were apologetic and she had no doubt that she would be able to fix it. Growing frustrated with the situation, I decided to go down the street and get a few groceries while she was getting it "fixed". When I got back to get her, the huge strip that was parallel to her part was gone and some of the brassiness was taken away, but there were absolutely no blonde highlights! Deeply disturbed and saddened that I spent this much money and did not get at all what we wanted. No offer to rectify the situation, otherwise. I would not be surprised to find this hair salon to be the next building to be vacant within that area. Absolutely horrible, do not go to this salon.

When I went in, I'd asked for a caramel balayage. That's not what I left with, even after I told them I didn't like the color, and they added toner to darken it. I called Arté as a last resort, after trying to find multiple other salons in the Natick area who could accommodate me. None of them could; I was in a terrible time crunch(wedding, party, and holiday event) and needed something done ASAP. Arté took me as a walk in, and asked that I come in around noon for a consult. I met with Denise who was professional, and understanding at the same time. My hair didn't look "bad" but it wasn't what I'd asked for. I don't think the last salon had any bad intentions with my hair but they just weren't able to give me what I'd asked for (despite a picture and revisiting it during a 6 hour appointment.) Denise showed me several swatches and told me she'd do the best she could to rid my hair of the copper color, or mute it as much as possible. The end result is actually much closer to the color I'd originally wanted done. I went from copper/auburn to a warm brown/slight caramel color and I love it.

The chairs did not provide a massage like most places. The final cost was something like $130. With 40% off, it should have cost around $50. Since they were closing, I was polite and just gave them my credit card. A few days later, I called the director to complain and asked for an itemized record of the charges. She never called me back. I went somewhere else to get my manicure fixed. They DID NOT charge me for taking the gel off. I will never go back to this salon. I can't believe they didn't even call me back.

So as of yesterday, it had gotten really long, and was just looking really blah. No style whatsoever. Just long and in desperate need of a cut. I saw some nice reviews on here, so I went to Glam. It's very close to where I work so its convenient too. Ricci did my hair. She's very sweet, funny, and great at her job. I just wanted something fresh and simple. She took 4 inches or so off of it, didn't give me any weird layers that could be mistaken for a mullet, and I left with really pretty shoulder-length hair. I am so glad to have found my new salon. No more looking! If I had anything critical to say, it would be that I would have loved a longer, more luxurious wash. That's kind of the best part of getting your hurr did, having someone else wash your hair and give you a scalp massage. And it was considerably more expensive to have my hair washed and dried than it would have been just for the cut. Which is fine - if you give a spa-like wash. But just a quick wash and rinse shouldn't have cost that much extra. That's the only reason this is 4 instead of 5 stars. I was so happy with the cut that that was just sort of an afterthought.

My original stylist, Emma, had to cancel last minute due to illness, which I completely understood. Since I was heading out of town for vacation and needed my hair done beforehand, the salon rescheduled me for that Saturday with another stylist (whom I won't name out of courtesy). Unfortunately, the appointment went terribly. I was quoted a price and given a timeframe of 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. for a tone, glaze, and haircut. I ended up being there from 11 a.m. until after 3 p.m. nearly four hours and I never even received the haircut. The total price I paid was much more than originally quoted (even without the haircut) The color process was poorly executed: my hair came out overly ashy, spotty, and completely off from what I requested. The stylist had to re-glaze it, but I was still charged for that re-glaze even though it was correcting her own mistake. I also specifically said I didn't want a full blow-dry just enough to make sure my hair looked okay for my trip but I was still charged for a full 30-minute blow dry I never wanted. Worse, during the service, I told the stylist that my scalp was hurting, and she dismissed it, saying it was probably just "stress." When I got home, my husband noticed visible burn marks on my scalp. That was alarming and honestly made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Then, she told me she wanted to dry my hair before cutting it, which is not standard and made me extremely uncomfortable. At that point, I was so uneasy with the entire experience that I lied and said I had another appointment just to get out of the chair. I left without a haircut and very upset. To the salon's credit, the owner personally reached out to me afterward, apologized, and promised to make it right. Although it couldn't be fixed immediately due to the holiday weekend and my vacation, they followed through... When I returned, Emma (my original stylist) was finally able to see me, and she did an incredible job. She corrected the color beautifully, gave me a deep shampoo treatment, and finally gave me the haircut I'd originally booked. She's professional, kind, and clearly knows what she's doing. I'm not writing this to bash Starz Salon. Mistakes happen but clients should never leave with burns, poor color, or feeling dismissed. That said, it's not about how you start, but how you finish and the salon made sure I was taken care of in the end. Thank you, Emma and the team, for turning it around.
