This is our second time here, and it's hard to believe, but it was better than the first!

Wow. This place is amazing. We did not expect this quality of food across the board while we're on vacation. All the pasta were amazing but the deserts are top notch!! Thank you and all your staff for a great meal. We will be back again before we leave town!

Upon entry we were greeted with such friendly service! I am from Denver and have been unsure what food recommendations out here were good, well talk about good this place was amazing!! Soft romantic style lighting but open and big enough to accommodate for large families!

We enjoyed our meal and the service was good. They didn't have lasagna, but the ziti was a good alternative. The ambiance is good too.

After a day of sightseeing and driving the scenic byway stopped in for a late lunch. Ambience is nice. Soft bread basket with softened butter, olive tapenade was yummy to begin with! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs-came with 2. My portion was plentiful. Sauce was delicious and the meatballs were huge! Their downtown is quiet on a Sunday afternoon but we were happy we stopped in for a visit-check it out if you're in the area! Oh, the barbera wasn't bad either!

    Homemade ravioli with shrimp added

Stopped in with no reservations (not from the area). We were able to be seated immediately at the bar. So fun. The food was amazing (I had the homemade ravioli and my husband had the Shrimp Diablo). The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff friendly and knowledgeable (and was having a good time. Family feel but could easily be quiet and romantic if tucked in a corner). Next time I am in the area it will be a must stop. Note: pricing extremely reasonable for the quality!

Delicious food all around! This was a recommendation from a local from our plane ride here. We waited about 15-20 minutes on a Sunday afternoon for a table for two, and it was definitely worth the wait. They have a great cocktail and wine list. We got the bruschetta (not knowing they give you bread with a tapenade to start) and both were great. Only thing I'd change is the bruschetta toast was not very crispy. For our mains, we got the Baked Ziti (wasn't on the menu but was a substitute for their lasagna) and the chicken parmigiana with the Brussel sprouts at the side. WOW! The flavors were spectacular and everything was baked perfectly. Our server was very friendly and checked in often. The portions are huge, so share a plate if you're not overly hungry. It's a great corner spot with indoor and outdoor seating. It has a fancier feel inside, but everyone was welcome in whatever they were wearing! Great stop in Spearfish.

The complimentary bread is appreciated though. Something to note: while this Italian restsaurant offers different pasta and pizza dishes, they do not offer entrees like chicken parm, steak, etc. Service: okay. It was attentive but also a little anxious to rush us. We were eating as a family, which means several young kids and a baby. Maybe the server interpreted most of us not actively eating as we were done, but there was still food on our plates, and my parents were eating their dishes. The server asked us if our plates were ready to be cleared away and if we wanted dessert, which felt a bit premature for the meal. Ambiance: It's a nice large space inside. You get a view of the open kitchen that's in the back. There's tons of seating options including booths or tables. There is also Sabatino's pizzeria next to this restaurant!

My wife ordered the Chicken Primavera with gluten free penne, featuring grilled chicken, pesto, and carrots. It was excellent and easily the standout dish of the evening. I had the grilled salmon, which was cooked well and was also very good. As always, we put restaurants through a bit of a stress test. My wife has gluten and dairy allergies, while I manage Alpha Gal syndrome, a tree nut allergy, and diabetes. The kitchen was able to accommodate the gluten free pasta request, which we appreciated. The atmosphere is one of the restaurant's biggest strengths. The historic building and the old photographs covering the walls make for a fun dining experience and really add to the character of the place. Service was just okay. Nothing was wrong, but it also wasn't particularly memorable. One thing worth knowing before you go: the restaurant adds a 4% surcharge for credit card payments, so if you'd rather avoid the extra fee, bring cash. Overall, we will probably pick something else a try if we return to Deadwood. Worth it if you are heading there just for the historic atmosphere. We called to see how long it might take for dinner on a Saturday night and basically had to wait about 15 minutes or so. Once seated two servers came to our table. Mary was the training instructor and Hannah, our server. We learned that Hannah was in her first week, so we looked forward to seeing how good she was. Everyone had a pasta dish, some with chicken, with meatballs and more, and we all enjoyed our dinners. The portions were large, so two of the couples shared their meals and there were still leftovers that we would have taken home had we not stayed in a hotel. We all enjoyed the service by new server Hannah. She is professional, has a great sense of humor and open to sharing stories with us.
