What!? An authentic Italian/NY style bakery in Hatboro! They have beautiful, delicious authentic pastries, and many of them look like works of art. The selection is huge. This pains me to have to do this but I have to be completely honest. I've been getting baked goods from this place ever since it opened. Cakes, cookies, cannolis, pizza, bread etc. The cannolis now have some type of candied fruit inside the filling which I am not a fan of at all. I stopped buying them. The cookies in the beginning were crisp, always. I bought wafer cookies about a month ago and they were soggy as heck to the point of the cookie falling over on itself, I stopped buying them. I usually buy the cookies with the strawberry or raspberry jam sandwiched in between the two cookies dipped in chocolate and now those are soggy and not edible, I stopped buying them. I love the small pizzas still. At one point they had a group of teenage girls working the store and they were clueless. Thank goodness they are no longer there. read more

Since Nonno's opened, we have been to visit (and buy) several times. The eclairs are filled with chocolate or vanilla custard--both are divine. They have all sorts of new pastries every time we come, plus cookies, breads, cakes--and each one is prettier and more delicious than the next. It's a feast for the eyes and the belly. I feel really lucky that this bakery is near me. And the prices are so reasonable, too!!! read more

I went here today with my daughter for the first time. Everything looks absolutely beautiful and the shop is gorgeous. We bought a variety of pastries. All of the Italian pastries were tasty. However I was disappointed with everything else. The 'buttercream' was completely un-edible. The girl that gathered my order was unfriendly and not knowledgeable about what she was selling. None of the pastries were marked so I had to Ask what everything was and I ended up purchasing something I thought was something else. Hopefully Nonno's can get it together. read more

Will not be returning. Cookies were dry/not fresh. Wanted to like them, but the counter girl was no help in telling me what their signature goods were or even what half of the pastries were. Also had the cannoli's which were 'OK' but the pastry shell was very hard and made it difficult to eat. Not good. read more

Very, very Disappointed with Nonno's Bakery I special-ordered a hazelnut cake, but instead they gave me a previously-prepared almond cake. Since I discovered Nanno's Bakery in Hatboro, I have been buying the box cookies every Saturday and they have always been good. However, last week, my husband bought me a cake for my birthday; they look attractive and delicious on the window display. We went together and I specifically requested a hazelnut cake with very little cream on the outside. That was a small and expensive cake that cost twenty-five dollars . That wouldn't have been a problem if they have made what we ordered. Instead of that, they gave us an almond cake with a terrible cream made with vegetable shortening or something like that, absolutely no butter, and no hazelnut cream inside or outside. What is worse is the fact that it was saturated with corn syrup! It had so much cream (when we specifically said very little cream), that It was absolutely appalling. I was very, very, disappointed; for twenty five dollars I expected something much better that that. I hate the fact that they thought they could deceived us. They can easily fool somebody who does not know the difference between hazelnuts and almonds, but not me. They didn't bother making a hazelnut cake. They just gave me an almond cake that was already made and simply wrote Happy Birthday on it. Please stay away from the cakes. read more

I cannot control myself in Nonno's. The displays are irresistible -- some treats are simply works of art -- and every pastry I've ever purchased has been insanely delicious. Was not originally going to get my sister's baby shower cake from them, but I am SO glad I did. This is my new go to place for cakes. The cake itself was beautifully done, when I ordered it, I was not 100% certain what exactly I wanted, just that I wanted it to reflect the invitations, and it could not have been any happier with the cake. When I saw it in the case waiting for us, I was so excited, it was perfect. The pound cake was also perfect, not too sweet, but just sweet enough. The whipped icing was beautiful, and the decorating excellent. read more

Best bakery hands down. I called them with a special request for a Swedish Princess cake. Despite having never heard of it, they just asked that I send them a picture and it was ready the next day. It was perfect! Surpassed expectations in both looks and taste. read more

We were in town for a family gathering and looking for a bakery to bring treats to my niece's house. We stumbled upon Nonno's and it was amazing. First of all the owners are so nice. We bought a sampling of many items and everything was amazing. Unbelievable. I sure wish I lived closer I would frequent them often. My dad is very ill, so my husband and I stopped in to get to him a couple treats to bring to the hospital. We waited over 20 mins and never got helped. There were 2 women helping 2 other customers and they never so much as even acknowledged us. We walked out empty handed. read more

I have gotten the Italian creme cake from Nonno's many times and it has been consistently delicious. Unfortunately I have to give them 2 stars because of the HORRIBLE customer service. I ordered a cake 4 days in advance. I even Called the day I was to pick it up to let them know that I would be late ......when I get there my cake is not there. No one apologized , they looked at me like I was at fault. They found my slip and said someone was supposed to call me to make sure I was coming but they got busy and forgot. I of course was upset because I had a surprise party with 40 people waiting for this cake. They said they could make it in ten minutes and I said the cake better be good and not someone else's. I left the store ran an errand and came back to pick up the cake. Upon returning I was yelled at by a girl working in the store that I had no right to criticize their business. I was told that when I called to order the cake that we were disconnected ...which we were NOT! We repeatedly went back and forth about if in fact we were disconnected. Then they said they only had my number on the slip because they looked through caller ID to find it. When I asked why they didn't call me to confirm the order if in fact we were " disconnected" again they said they got busy. The girl repeatedly yelled at me about how wrong I was to criticize their business. They basically blamed me because they did not have a cake ready that I ordered in advance. They could have handled the situation much better but because they didn't I will never go back there again. read more

After a terrible experience at Don Giovanni's in Feasterville, I was in search of an Italian Bakery for my son's wedding. Somebody told me of Nonno's where I ordered an Italian Rum Cake and 6 trays of assorted cookies. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The cake was delicious to the point that there was not a crumb left! Everyone left with a box of cookies which were delivered beautifully arranged on trays. This is definitely my go to place for all of my Italian dessert needs from now on. My sister bought 2 cakes over for a small gathering. Worst I've ever eaten, or should I say had to spit out. No one liked these. The Chocolate Razz-berry Bundt crumbled when you sliced it...horribly dry, didn't taste like chocolate, didn't taste any raspberry, and had a really weird funky taste and smell. The apple butter cake was also horrible. The crust at the bottom was bone dry. Didn't taste any butter was super overloaded with apple slices that were hard and crunchy disgusting. The date my sister brought these cakes over was just yesterday February 18. She spent $10 total for these cakes and we had to throw them both out. read more

Purchased a cake for a birthday yesterday. It was mediocre at best. The vanilla part of the cake wasn't very fresh tasting to me; the chocolate part tasted better. Certain parts of the outer decorations/frosting had a funny aftertaste that I had a hard time getting out of my mouth. I wouldn't buy another cake like this again. I'm willing to give some of the other desserts a try. I've had some cookies from there and they tasted fine. read more

Last Sunday I purchased a dozen pastries to bring over friends. Have to say embarrassing isn't the word one of the pastry sour and some of the others the pastries stale.
