I've been here twice now since moving to the city and had my hair cut and styled by Neil both times. He is very good at listening and is also great at meeting his input and knowledge with my preferences. I used to be afraid of getting layers since my hair has been thinning, but he is able to layer it in a way that makes it look more voluminous. This time, I also got my hair colored without bleaching, and Neil did a perfect job at picking the right color for me while also making my hair look more healthy and shiny than before. I went here for the first time for a quick toning on my balayage. My balayage was getting brassy so I just asked for a cooler tone and definitely said "temporary toner/gloss". There were so many red flags, the session somehow took 2 hours, I had rolls in my hair (never had that for toner) and was in the chair instead of over the sink, and left the salon with two toned hair! I have Asian hair so came in with naturally black roots and a light brown balayage. They turned my roots were a brassy brown color while the rest of my hair was jet black -- like blue black. It also cost over 200 which is extremely expensive for a toning session. When I left they told me that "it'll wash out to be lighter in a couple washes". Which was ?? Shouldn't it look at least pretty decent coming out of the salon? Still I was willing to trust the process and thought maybe they overtoned my hair to keep it cooler. Nope. I had two toned hair for literally months and was starting to realize that my lighter roots weren't going to blend. I went to a different salon who confirmed they had used permanent dye / bleach on my hair. Now my roots will never blend with the permanent "band" that's grown out. Horrible communication and even if they truly misunderstood my request, my hair should've never been two different tones and colors. read more

Came here for my post quarantine haircut and color and I am SO happy!!! I had YC @nonstop.yc and he did an amazing job. He was very focused and you can tell he pays close attention to details. I'm not very good at picking hairstyles, so I showed him a few photos and he was able to create the vibe I was going for with my head/face shape. I have dyed my hair couple times before I switch to Vincent (hairstylist is extremely important when it comes to bleach). I love bleaching my hair but all the other hairstylist I've tried had damaged my hair so much. So please look for a hairstylist that care about your hair like you do! But after switching to Vincent I haven't switch a stylist since. He actually give out useful feedback and would take his time to get the best look. When it comes to style I never doubt Vincent. I want to preface that this review is specifically for bleached Asian hair. I recently moved back to the city and was looking for a salon that could help me maintain my platinum/silver hair. The reviews were fantastic with many emphasizing that Nonstop style knew what to do with Asian hair. When I arrived, I was super hopeful. Kelvin looked through my hair and noted the existing breakage. As anyone with light hair knows, both breakage and banding are somewhat avoidable, but we talked about techniques my previous hairdresser had used and how to improve upon it. In particular, much of my breakage is around my cowlick and the banding is toward the base of my hair, so we discussed starting at the base versus at the crown. I also told him how in the past, the silver toner washes out in 1-2 weeks and he assured me when he was done, it would last significantly longer. So off we went. He applied a scalp protectant, which I was super appreciative of. Once Kelvin was finishing with the front/sides of my hair, a junior stylist came to assist with the back. "Ok, I thought, this is efficient". They ended up applying two rounds of bleach before toning for ~ 5 min. The total cost? $330. The result? The worst color job I have ever had in my life. The silver washed out in a single wash. The ENTIRE back of my head has significant banding. Like a 1 inch orange stripe. They front/sides are much more even, though they did miss areas of my sideburns, which leaves me looking like a zebra on the side and a tiger in the back. On top of that, about 1/5 of the hair on the top broke, and continues to break (and I'm writing this 4 weeks after I got my hair done). I now have uneven fringe bangs and straight up sprouts coming out of my head. There is no way to fix this. I can't even blend the broken hairs because they're so short. After 2 years of platinum hair, I now have to go back to dark because if any more of my hair breaks, I will have to cut it all off. To add insult to injury, this was the most I've ever spent on a root touch up. TOUCH UP. They ended up charging me for ladies bleach and well as ladies single color. I was told I was getting a discount because they could have charged me for ladies bleach x 2 because of the double process. Thanks... read more

Went in for a haircut today after three months of working-from-home... place is easy to reach, staff are extremely professional and necessary health measures are taken - temperature check, hand sanitizer, sanitizing sprays were applied before getting a haircut.
