The house margaritas are great, the chips are HOMEMADE, the salsa is wonderful (I don't like spicy so the really red salsa is for me, whereas the spicier one is for my sister-in-law and my bestie). The tacos for the special are great! Shredded beef, lettuce, cheese, and (if you wish) pico de gallo. I get mine on the side and give it to whomever I'm dining with. I'll then put the milder salsa on top. If you have any tacos left over, they'll give you some foil to wrap them up in. (I end up grabbing those chips too, because they are The BOMB. Of course, their regular fare is great also, but I always look forward to Taco Tuesday to call up friends and say, "Meet me at Cabo"! Entered from the back entrance heads up no need to wait for a host/hostess you pick your seats or booth. Employees were welcoming we were immediately assisted by Henry. He was friendly and helpful. We ordered the Lunch Special carne asada Chiquitas plate you get 3 tortillas option for corn/flour a good amount of rice and beans, saucy fajitas asada and veggies for fire! Hubby and I enjoyed that! We ordered the de alba ceviche which had octopus, scallops, shrimp and abalone it was okay in my opinion it needed more salt, pepper and a lot more limes...I enjoy a nice citrus zing we didn't mind taking that home to jazz up and enjoy. So heads up if you want more of a cocktail you'll enjoy but for all my lemon/lime friends ask for a whole lot of limes to mix! Chips were super fresh and delicious salsa's were yummy too! Wow. I used to love this place. They use to free pour you a proper drink. Now they turned corporate and measure their drinks and it sucks and now it's expensive. If it's a call drink, sure, measure it. But to measure a well drink where the bottle itself is literally $7 is a sign of a restaurant going out of business. May as well just go to the shit chain restaurants in the area at this point. It's the same price with better service and atmosphere. They completely lost what made them special. This has been one of my parent's favorite go to spots! My dad specifically requested coming here for Father's Day for the burrito gigante with carne asada. It's a massive burrito that typically feeds me and my mom for two meals, that my dad prides himself in finishing in one sitting. The burritos are flavorful with a good balance of meat, sour cream, and guacamole. Unlimited chips and salsa at the table. Service was friendly and attentive. My fam and I were looking to new place for Taco Tuesday and decided upon this one. We were greeted and felt very welcomed upon arrival. The menu was your normal Mexican selection. The wall is in orange and the decor was very unique! We ended up ordering 3 crispy tacos with chicken and 3 soft street tacos with chicken, fish, shrimp. They do bring our chips and salsa complimentary which helped while waiting for our food. After a good 15 mins way, our food came. The crispy tacos were crunchy but bland, they were just meh. The soft street tacos were a little more flavorful but no crunch, just plain Jane, and not to mention small. I can't finish each taco with 2 small bites. They do have a nice bar with lots of TV's and an interesting fireball buddy system shots where you take shots with your buddy - up to 5 shots for $20. Say what? As regulars, we find ourselves sitting in the cantina at Cabo Cantina all the time, and it's always a great experience. It's been ages since I've been here, but I met up with friends recently and wanted to write a review. I've always felt the layout feels awkward and they've fixed that issue by putting a host station right where you walk in from the parking lot, not the door at the street. The menu is much larger than I remembered. I ordered the tostada salad with carnitas and it was plenty of food. The carnitas were flavorful and the lettuce was nice & crisp. The restaurant is family-owned and has a dedicated parking lot that does get full, but there is always street parking as backup. The chips and salsa...omg, YES!!! Small corner bar and restaurant. The bar is cozy. The lights were off and the fans were going- it felt good. I had chips, salsa and a shredded chicken burrito. It was decent, with beans and chicken and cheese. The black beans came in a little bowl and they were good. I sat in the bar and Jenn, the bartender provided great service. On Black Friday night, almost the ENTIRE clan (26 total!) had a reservation at this family favorite Grill. The long table was set up and ready for us. The festive atmosphere was warm & friendly, while also having football & Lakers games on big screens visible to us. Drink orders tasted wonderful, from Cadillac margs to strawberry blended ones. Delicious. The food orders were taken by 2 terrific waiters and the dishes started coming out of the kitchen almost immediately. From Carnitas to Fajitas to Quesadillas w/fries for the little ones. To Seafood enchiladas, deliciously large burritos, great crunchy tacos and lovely salads. The menu is full with delectable delights. The service was fantastic! Our large group had an automatic 18.5% tip added, which we raised up another 5%. Yes, service was THAT good! Cabo Grill made our family dinner an outstanding affair. I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants but was pleasantly surprised that this place serves one of the best fajitas and seafood enchiladas. I can only compare this to other SoCal Mexican restaurants since I have not eaten in Mexico or South America. That being said, I really enjoyed my experience at Cabo and will definitely come back here again next time. This is a great place to chill after work and take advantage of their happy hour. The restaurant itself is quite big and can accommodate large parties. It is worth driving out of your way just to come here because their food is super flavorful and delicious. I needed to add a lot of sauce to make it not so dry and taste like something. I liked that you can choose the sides it comes with. I got the carnitas yuccateccas and the meat was juicy and moist without it being soggy. There were no chunks of fat in my meat which was also a good thing. The sauce was incredibly flavorful and multi-dimensional as you get the sweetness from the onion paired with the savoriness from the mild Chiles. I know some places where carnitas just take like they were boiled in salt water, this is definitely not the case here. 5/5 carnitas And if you're debating about the jalapeno white rice vs the Mexican rice, I would choose the Mexican rice.
