The place is a gem! We went on Sunday evening so, not crowded, relatively quiet (great for conversation), and no rush through service which means the full experience and it was lovely. We started with the shrimp rolls and scallion pancakes, which melted in my mouth. The scallions were bright and fresh while the pastry was rich and flaky. I didn't eat the shrimp rolls, but the were perfectly cooked and very well received. We also had the Xiao Long Bao. They were well made in structure as each one retained the soup inside. The flavour pop of the simple and delicate broth made up for the slightly gummy texture of the bao itself. We then had the Champignon and Sesame Chicken. The chicken was deliciously well received, but it was the crisp texture of the lotus root and multi-dimensional broth of the Champignon that won the evening. King mushrooms, pea shoots, Shanghai bok choy and crisp lotus root slices with a generous bowl of rice! I plan to go back and try more, but this will remain my go-to, feel-good going forward. Yummy!

My ultimate go to spot for quick, delicious and most importantly fairly priced Chinese cuisine in the area. I highly recommend catching their lunch special if you can.

Everything was excellent. Pad Thai and more. It was a birthday celebration but now this is in our monthly agenda.

This is not your average Chinese restaurant. The menu is different from others with some exotic choices such as the crab meat asparagus soup which was delicious. The Dan Tze Mein Noodles were delightful as well. The prices reflect the quality and the portions are commensurate for what you pay. The next time I am in the Springfield area I will definitely be back to try the rest of the impressive looking menu.

GF friends, delight! Noodle 88 offers a specific GF menu which highlights what can be made gluten free, and their adjustments are delicious (Copy of Gluten free menu from fall 2023 included in pics!). I had the sweet and sour chicken, which came with broccoli; it was the most delicious sweet and sour chicken I've ever had! Everything was extremely fresh and tasty. Will certainly be back to try more.

Jellyfish like dish too tough. Byob Beef dish on chinese menu only is excellentay!! Pine nut fish is boneless and good but the market price fish I had the last time is better. Relatives of mine decided to re-visit despite the complaints the last time Avoid the dumplings. A couple other things aren't their best but a lot of other great dishes! Enjoy!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Some things were good but then others were really lacking in flavor or just seemed "thrown" together to be added to the menu just to make it larger. I feel like they are taking classics and changing them up to make it their own. Some items worked very well, while others...ehhhh... Beef lo mein - not typical as they are served with flat noodles. This WORKED! It was so good and flavorful. I would totally come back just for this. Walnut shrimp - ehhhh, the sauce was seriously lacking. They didn't really toss the shrimp in the sauce. Shrimp was cooked, plated, then the sauce was literally just drizzled on top. The walnut was delicious though. Braised beef noodle - this was definitely a no! There was absolutely no flavor. Wonton soup - this was a YES! The broth was so light and delicious. They filled the dumplings nicely unlike most places. I will surely be back and try other dishes.

The restaurant was busy due to the holiday, but the staff managed everything well and kept the buffet running smoothly. The buffet offered a wide variety of options, especially for seafood lovers. We really enjoyed the crab legs, which were refilled frequently and tasted fresh. The shrimp dishes--including fried shrimp and garlic shrimp--were flavorful and well cooked. There was also a good selection of fish, mussels, clams, and seafood stir-fry, which made the seafood section the highlight of the meal. In addition to seafood, Ichiban had plenty of Asian and American-style dishes. The hibachi grill was popular, allowing you to choose fresh ingredients like chicken, beef, shrimp, and vegetables cooked right in front of you. Sushi lovers will appreciate the sushi and sashimi selection, which included rolls, nigiri, and fresh fish options. The Chinese classics such as General Tso's chicken, lo mein, fried rice, and dumplings were tasty and comforting. Dessert options included cakes, cookies, fruit, and ice cream, which were perfect for ending the meal. Overall, the food quality, variety, and festive atmosphere made our New Year's Day visit enjoyable. Ichiban Seafood Buffet is a solid choice if you're looking for variety, generous portions, and a satisfying buffet experience. We would definitely visit again, especially for special occasions.

Instead of our server approaching us to explain that our time was ending, a teenager, who had not interacted with us at all during the meal, was sent over to abruptly drop the check on the table. For first‑time guests, this felt dismissive and unnecessarily abrupt. A simple, polite heads‑up from our waiter would have gone a long way. Clear communication and respectful interaction are part of good hospitality, especially when enforcing policies that guests may not be familiar with. The food was enjoyable, but the way the time limit was communicated needs improvement. Better manners, clearer communication, and a more professional approach would make the overall experience much more welcoming for new diners.

But what makes this place stands out outside of it being convenient while shopping and having delicious food. I found myself in a position where I again stopped pass to grab my go to " Teriyaki shrimp with lo mein noodles and broccoli with a shrimp roll" and I was told that it would be a few mins before it's done. So I went with my daughters to go get their pizza directly across at "SBARRO" which is also a great spot to grab pizza and other Italian like dishes. Being greedy since I've been fasting for Ramadan I ordered 2 veggie pizzas slices that were amazing while I wait for my platter. After wrapping up from eating the slices my daughters had to use the restroom and the one nearest was "out of order" so naturally I picked up and left to search for another restroom. The one I found just so happened to be near the exist which kinda made me ready to go and forget, not realizing that I had left my " Teriyaki shrimp platter" ‍ Speed up to today where I'm back at the mall looking for a few things for myself and I said let me make sure I stop back pass and get my go to platter. I mentioned to the ladies that I had left my platter last night and wondered if they was able to give it away or just threw it away because I left it by accident. They were super kind and super quick with a response letting me know that this platter is fully credited so I don't need to pay anything. Acts of kindness like this goes along way especially when you have good food lol . I'll def be stopping by here every time at the mall and if you're in the area then you should too. Great food and amazing customer service!!!

This isn't because of a lack of good Chinese places to eat, but because after living in Philly for many years before that, I have come to expect a certain something when I am looking for a quick and easy pick up from a corner store Chinese food joint that simple doesn't seem to exist down here. Well, apparently, that wait has finally ended for me, and I couldn't be more pleased. I'm not entirely sure how this place was overlooked by myself and my family for six years, but Hong Kong checks all the right boxes, and now that I know it's there, tucked away in a faded and overgrown strip mall on Chester Pike, it will be in heavy rotation. The secret to corner store Chinese food isn't a heavy variety, volume of food, or even that the staff is friendly. All that helps, but the real value and charm from places like these comes from the core selection of dishes that they do, they execute perfectly; full of flavor, served piping hot, at a great price, time after time, at a wide range of hours during the day. Deciding to go with lunch specials, which were very reasonable, each comes with a soup and a pretty hefty portion of your choice of dish, served with either pork fried rice or pork loin mein. My wife went with her staple test meal of General Tzo's chicken and Wonton Soup. She said both impressed, and while I enjoy those, they're not my go-to. However, they were delicious. I instead chose the Szechuan Chicken with lo mein and also the egg drop soup. This is where I knew I had finally found the place that we had been searching for, for so long. The egg drop soup is perfect....and I mean perfect. It is delicious, with great consistency, and at the same time, is no frills, and you can see that it is clearly made by hand. Nothing from a bag here! The only reason Hong Kong has lost a star is because what I received was definitely what I would have called Hunan chicken. Finished in a spicy brown sauce, rather than a traditional red pepper Szechuan sauce, it was still absolutely delicious and hot, perfectly cooked with a great ratio of chicken to vegetables! If you are in the area, especially if you live nearby, do not skip on Hong Kong Chinese. It may not look like much. You may not be greeted on the phone that well, and I'm pretty sure you have to pay in cash. But sometimes that's exactly what you're looking for and what you want when all you really need is perfectly prepared quick Chinese for a great price that will make your stomach happy and make you smile with satisfaction.
