    Pork Wonton Noodle Soup
    Hanna H.

I've been told by a few to visit a wonton shop during my visit to Toronto and decided to try this spot out! It's a bit hard to find at first since it is located in a food court within the PATH, but it's definitely recognizable once you see lots of people lining up at this spot for lunch! At first we were skeptical that a great wonton noodle shop could be located in a food court underground, but BOY were we mistaken! Get yourself over here because these are some of the damn best wontons I've had in my life. We ordered the pork wonton noodle soup and not only were the wontons super tender and flavorful, but the broth itself I very much enjoyed with the bit of bok choy that was included. For the price, flavor, and convenience, it's the perfect midday lunch or snack! The only thing I would ask for is a bit more stems of bok choy to be added since I love veggies in my noodle soup. I was also shocked with the system they have in order to tackle long lines and it is pretty efficient! The line moved quickly and we got our food very quickly too as they prepare it right in front of you and you pay right after at the cashier. Bonus, there is chili oil on the side in a small container if you ask for it! Although the food court itself is not "vibey" or modern in any way, the food makes up for it by far. It's pretty easy to transport home or back to your office too. What I ordered: - Pork Wonton Noodle Soup

Lunch spot in the PATH near Sheraton. A decent walk from the office but after starting full-time work its been nice visiting offerings in the PATH given it's mostly food court-esque dining. Was not expecting to be able to get HK style wonton noodles in the PATH, but happy surprise. For sub $10 lunches this is as good as it gets. The line can get long but service is very fast since everything is prepared already. Ordered the Wonton Soup with Egg Noodles and they even throw in a few bok choy in there. It's what you expect from a classic wonton noodle. Kind of salty broth, large wontons, and chewy noodles. Great stuff, definitely coming back.

Noodle King is a little bit hard to find for first-timers. However, it's a very well known shop in PATH that every office worker in the Downtown area should know. You get a bowl filled with customizeable noodles/meat that is instantly made within just 1-2 minutes. My favourite is the BBQ Chicken Noodle Soup. The chicken is tender and flavourful. The soup is so appetizing that you'd want to finish the whole bowl - including the soup. You are free to choose the type of noodle/meat you like which I think it's a plus. I personally love the chewiness of the wonton noodles. There's also nice chili sauce available on the side. Overall food portion is sufficient - just enough that you will still be able to work after. The best part is pricing. This whole bowl of goodness costs less than $10 with tax included. It's probably one of the best deals in PATH food court. The line can be long during lunch hours so you should avoid 12-1 pm.

I stopped by this stall in the food court on the PATH basically below the Sheraton where I was staying while visiting Toronto for work. It's a fantastic place for a quick lunch. The shrimp wonton were very tasty and full of fresh shrimp and had a great crunchy texture. The noodles were nice and chewy, and the soup was very flavourful. I got a few stems of bok choi which was also nice and crisp and fresh. Very reasonable price. I forgot to ask for chilli oil (I think they have it as I heard someone after me asking for some). That would be the icing on the cake!

Well, damn. This place is just too good to be stuck in a dimly lit food court with a dimly lit sign in the middle of almost nowhere. Of course, I've had it bookmarked for a pretty long time after seeing the outstanding reviews, but it took stumbling upon it by accident while getting lost in the PATH to actually try it out. Definitely one of the best hidden gems I've ever been to! The noodles are absolutely delicious, and the broth was so savoury I literally gulped it down. The shrimp wontons? Huge! I was really surprised to see the enormous pieces of shrimp packed in them. The vegetables were super fresh too - no wilted leaves here! And nothing tasted like the artificial or over-seasoned MSG filled stuff you might expect at a food court (or elsewhere). Can this place open up other locations already??? I think it can give even some of the popular restaurants uptown a run for their money. :P Can I also just say again, bless you Yelp, you're doing great work :D

Living in Markham & Scarborough before and now close to Chinatown, I had tasted the best and cheap noodle soup. So trying Noodle King for the first time, I wasn't really impressed. Yes, their Shrimp Wontons are massively huge and I counted 5 pcs in my soup. So I guess that makes a difference considering they give you crappy servings when you eat in food court places. But I still paid $8.19 for my soup which to me is still not that cheap. Still the soup didn't blow my mind or something.

LUNCH If I checked in on yelp every time I have came here for lunch, It would break the internet. The yelp data server would probably be filled with only my check ins lol. Yes, it is that much! I always order the same thing when I come. Half BBQ pork (cha-siu) and half BBQ Chicken on rice. Its gotten to the point where the owner and I just speak telepathically to each other. As soon as he sees me walking towards him, the lady is already preparing my meal lol. Their sauce is crack man, I dunno what they put in it, but damn sun, Its mad delicious! Make sure you get some when ordering any bbq rice dish. I am a big fan of this place as you can tell. Even Jon Snow would bend the knee if he ate here! Long live the Noodle King! Ruler of the seven food courts, and true Heir to the Iron wok! ;)

I love eating here on my comfort food/cheat days. They have classic Hong Kong style soup noodles and bbq rice dish. The noodles are made to order. They have rice noodles, thick noodles, egg noodles to choose from. Toppings include beef balls, fish balls, bbq pork, shrimp wonton, prom wonton, chicken, lemongrass chicken, beef stew, and others. Better yet you can pick and choose. You can get additional toppings like half size wonton, tofu, or beef sauce to add-on. You can also pick just broccoli or bak choy. You can pick rice dish too. There is vegetarian options. Their soy bean drink is small but tasty. Staff is nice and friendly. Line is long but service is fast.

I was so happy to see Noodle King was still open while all other restaurants in the PATH have sadly shut down due to the pandemic. I was downtown at the office today after 1.5 years and thought about grabbing a shrimp wonton soup from NK, one of my favourite lunch spots while working at the office. When I arrived there were a few people in line, totally different from what I remember during the busy lunch crowd back then. The owner took my order and called it to the kitchen. They no longer have the many options (fish ball, chicken, duck etc.) displayed out front. I went with a half fish ball, half shrimp wonton soup. The shrimp wontons are legit, does not taste like filler and actually a good crunch to them. Overall my meal was delicious and a very good bang for your buck lunch. Would highly recommend visiting Noodle King as they are still open for lunch!

Located in a food court in the PATH network. I entered via Sheraton on Queen and went downstairs. There were 3 other Asian options, a Mexican restaurant, Hero Burger, Subway and La Prep. The seating area was pretty full, but we were able to find a spot for 4. There was actually no line when we arrived for a late lunch. The restaurant next to it (MR Souvlaki) had about 7 people in line, though. They offer different soup options (chicken broth, spicy broth, vegetable broth), meats (pork wonton, shrimp wonton, BBQ pork, spicy beef, brisket), and noodles (egg, thin rice, thick rice). They also offer the similar dishes with rice instead of noodles. My vegetarian friend was happy about the options here. Lunch at Noodle King is pretty cheap! Probably the cheapest I've been to in downtown Toronto. The egg noodle soup with pork wonton was about $5. It also comes with bok choy. Plus another $1 for a can of soda. The noodle soup was very good! The broth was good and they provided hot sauce if you want to spice it up. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the pork wonton were also good. Accepts debit or cash only.

Visited a Friday at 11h30am.. Within the next 15 minutes, the line up became huge. Ordered the spicy beef soup for 9.99, as well as fried pork dumplings (3 for 2.59)... Pop is a buck a can Soup was beefy, meat was tender and tasty, broth was nice, noodles were a bit bland (Shangai style). Dumplings were tasty and worth it.

BBQ chicken with noodles. $6 now, but hasn't gone up for a year.

Haven't been here in a year, and it's nice to see that their prices are still the same as before. Lines are long during lunch hour. Note that due to the floor-plan, and the fact that the food vendor next door also has huge lines, you may find yourself in the wrong line. Pay close attention to the direction of the traffic. Items range from $5 to $8, averaging $6 before tax. I usually pay cash. They used to charge extra 25 cents for using card, but not sure if they still do it. They had a little hand-written sign put up on the side but I didn't see it this time. The line moves fast. Pick your rice or noodles (4 kinds), pick your meat/vegetables, then proceed to pay for it. There are some condiments on the side if you need some extra flavor. Whole process usually lasts 20-30 seconds. Portion size isn't too bad: you get your rice or noodles, decent amount of meat, and some fresh vegetables. Taste's alright. Not too oily. Food court gets busy during lunch, so finding a seat may be challenging. If you're planning to eat there, I would recommend just getting it to go and walking over to another food court a few minutes away which usually has more seats. Unless you're heading to chinatown, this is probably the next cheapest place for a bowl of rice or noodles with meat and veggies.

I don't think I've ever given a 5 for a food court restaurant.. I can see why it's popular, plus it's funny there are 2 asian restaurants side by side; one clearly outdoing the other... The service was really friendly, I went at off peak (probably best when you see the lines online, I imagine it moves fairly quickly..). Good lunch for under 10 bucks, rare.

Vegetarian noodles and broth with Tofu. $5.99! Absolutely fantastic!

Sansotei Ramen Review…read more Order: Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen Ambience: Sansotei at union station is more like a quick takeout /food court ramen spot than a sit-down restaurant. It's great if you're grabbing something fast, but the seating area wasn't the cleanest and I had to look around for a table that had been wiped down, which wasn't ideal if I am paying 21$ for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. Food: I tried the black tonkotsu ramen and it was definitely rich and filling. I liked that you can choose between thick or thin noodles, which is a nice touch. That said, the broth was a bit too rich and salty for my taste and could use something to balance it out, maybe an order or Diet Coke. The meat was good but not as tender as I would like. Sides and Pairing Tip: I'd recommend getting a side of gyoza or even a Diet Coke to help cut through how rich, heavy and salty the ramen feels. Value for Money: It's a good option for a quick meal, but it does feel a little expensive for the experience you're getting for that price. Overall: Great for a fast ramen fix when you're on the go, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a more comfortable dine-in experience, or more value for money. 3/5

We decided to walk up to Queen Street to see something we hadn't seen and seemed like a good area with a wide variety of restaurants. I was almost writing this review for the one on Dundas Street, but realized there are a few locations in downtown. Glad I double checked. We walked up along Spadina to Queen, not all the way up to Dundas. We were weighing options, but we were unsure what we wanted and struggled. We almost ended up at another restaurant with live music outside, but we weren't being served and wasn't enthusiastic about their menu. So, we looked at a couple of options. We didn't want Chipotle or Chick Fil-A; I can get that anytime as I live near those in Maryland. Also, I wanted cuisine that was harder to find near where I live. Ultimately, we settled on Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles. After a lot of hunger trying to decide, this ended up being an excellent choice. Server was friendly answering our questions. It was moderately priced. We got their hand-pulled noodles, which was a large bowl, and was delicious with beef, veggies, & plenty of noodles. I also got their Japanese Toki brand whiskey. This was a FINE choice at a reasonable price. We got into some conversation with the server about being from the US and various other topics. This was an excellent experience, highly recommend.

I don't usually go for high-end sushi restaurants, but Miku has been on my list for a while, so I was genuinely excited to finally check it out. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an office building, but the moment you step inside the restaurant, everything changes. You go from bright, corporate lighting to a moody, romantic space with soft, dim lighting and a refined, intimate ambiance... it truly feels like entering a different world. Bonus points for the complimentary coat check, which is a huge win during winter when everyone is lugging around massive puffer jackets. We were seated in plush, velvety sofa booths near the bar, with a view of the street, which felt both cozy and upscale. Shoutout to our server, Shintaro, who was phenomenal with his warm, attentive, and energetic service, which made the whole experience even better. We started with drinks: my coworkers ordered sake flights, while I went with their signature cocktail, the kumquat cosmo. It was sweet and citrusy, and exactly what I needed on a Tuesday night after work. For appetizers, we all chose the sushi and sashimi selection, which included 9 pieces of chef-selected sashimi, chef-selected nigiri, and aburi oshi sushi. This was chef's kiss. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the sushi and nigiri were perfectly seasoned and sauced, so that we didn't even need soy sauce (though they do have a lovely house-made sweet soy sauce). I ordered the Red Wave Roll just to use their house-made sweet soy sauce... and wow. I've never had sushi that didn't fall apart after biting into it For my main, I went with the roast black cod. It was cooked beautifully, with a tender, slightly chewy texture that was rich but not overwhelming. For dessert, I went with their famously loved green tea opera. It's a small green tea sponge cake layered with matcha buttercream, red bean cream, and a hazelnut wafer crust, paired with a rich, velvety matcha ice cream on the side. Balanced, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Miku lived up to (and honestly exceeded) the hype. Incredible food, top-notch service, and a beautiful atmosphere.
