An authentic Vietnamese restaurant Waltham!! This was a great find! Within half an hour of opening, this restaurant was 2/3 full of patrons ordering Pho...great sign that this was going to be a great meal! We actually ordered takeout since we had family waiting at home for their Banh Mi fix! We ordered 5 different Banh Mi sandwiches to share: -- Pork Banh Mi ($10) -- Lemongrass Steak Banh Mi ($11) -- Classic Coldcut Banh Mi ($9) All of the sandwiches were terrific. The baguette had a nice crisp crunch on the outside, and was nice and soft on the inside. We asked for extra jalapenos on the side. What a satisfying lunch! I would definitely return next time I'm in town, for more Banh Mi and to try their Pho! Recommended!

Nice place to grab Vietnamese food in Waltham. This place opened up in my town a couple years ago so I wanted to try it out. I ordered take out and waited about 10 minutes for my food. Banh mi was pretty good, a good size. It was a little cold when I got home but not too bad. The crispy rolls were hot and tasty. Price wasn't too bad and conveniently located in a small plaza where a cleaners used to be. Overall I'd come back.

I have been to this place a few times. The ambiance and the service were average at best, but I think that's because they mostly do takeouts. The chicken and beef pho I had from here were warming and comforting, but leave you wanting for more. I will however say that their Banh mis were quite good. I have had the classic cold cuts and the crispy fish banh mis from here. The classic cold cuts banh mi was my favorite. The sweetness and the crispiness of the vegetables, the crunch of the bread, and the saltiness and flavor of the cold cuts made for a harmonious dish. I recommend their banh mis over their other dishes.

Been here twice for lunch during work. The banh mi are reasonably priced and delicious. The most recent time, we got the chicken banh mi and cold cut banh mi and both were delicious without being heavy. There was a good balance between the meat and the veggies. I also got the lavender latte and the lavender balances out the bitterness of the coffee well. I will say to factor the long wait though. Both times, they took a while to get the order out. It didn't bother me but just plan for it!

I tried the fried fish Banh Mi, and it was a good choice. The sandwich had a nice balance of flavors, with the crispy fish, fresh jalapeño for a bit of heat, and a sweet, crunchy vegetable that added a unique touch. I'm not sure exactly what it was, but it wasn't an onion, and it tasted really good--something I don't usually see on Banh Mi sandwiches at other places. The bread was very hard, which is typical for Banh Mi but not my personal preference. That aside, the flavors were on point, making it a tasty option overall. If you don't mind a crunchier baguette, it's definitely worth a try!

Tried this place as it popped up nearby and some friends recommended. It's a cute setup, got the feel of a viet street restaurant. Has a single bathroom, free ice water and styrofoam cups in the dining area. There's probably enough tables to seat 20 folks. There was definitely a lot of folks coming in for takeout lunch. We got the BBQ pork, extra fee for adding a thin smear of pate in the sub. The BBQ pork was tender, the sub was cold so i don't think they keep the BBQ meats heated (maybe to not dry them out or just served that style) the pickled veggies, homemade butter / mayo and fresh baguette. I thought flavor wise it was a tad on the lighter side, so i asked for some fish chili sauce to add to the sub. My friend got the fried fish sub, which had a fish fillet in red sauce (tomato based) which was tasty sauce but the fish fillet we think is premade and fried. You get 2 pieces of fish. Was expecting larger chunk of fish. For the price it was a bit lackluster compared to some other staples around Boston, but I'm glad waltham does have an authentic viet sub spot that I'm sure will continue to get better. The staff was nice, the food took about 10-15 min to be done (during lunch time noon). The Thai ice tea was like a standard boba spot Thai ice tea as you'd expect. Will be back around if in the area. Thanks!

I like this place. I wish I visited sooner..! I ordered crispy rolls and crispy fish Bánh Mì. The crispy rolls = 2 spring rolls come in one order and they are the big ones. Pork is juicy and has a nice taste. And the crispy fish sandwich was good. The baguette is airy, not too heavy and crispy as well. I wish there were more cilantro since I love them but overall, this was a nice Bánh Mì! I definitely would go back there again and would like to try other dishes with a drink.

I went there a couple of weeks ago and they were still under "soft launch". All tables were filled on a weekday afternoon around 1pm. There are a few tables inside to dine in, and plenty of parking up front. While waiting for my food, the table next to me got their sandwiches and I could hear the crunch as they bit into their sandwiches. Thats where the excitement really hit me. As soon as I got my order, I rushed home and was not disappointed. The nashville hot chicken was our favorite. I don't think I could come here and not get one of these...the chicken has a great firm crust with lots of flavor. There are 2 strips of chicken in the sandwich. I wish there were more but it was enough. The veggies were crunchy and fresh. The traditional cold cuts sandwich was good too. It doesn't overwhelm you with lots of meat, but again it was enough. I think the reason you go here is for the quality. They really take their time to prepare your sandwiches and the flavor and presentation is very good. The egg rolls were crispy and tasted ok. We didn't try any of their drinks this time. I can't wait to go back. My favorite #1 banh mi place is Ba Le in Dorchester and I'd rank Banh Mi Oi very close to it. Its definitely closer to me and I'm so glad for it. I'll be back soon!

This made my work trip! I was staying at the Westin Waltham and I travel enough to not want the hotel food, but too much that I didn't want to leave the hotel after an early in and a guaranteed late night. I hopped on Door Dash and saw this highly regarded banh mi place. The order came fast and was PERFECTION. Crunchy bun, delicious lemon grass seitan, pickled veggies! My drink was light and fruity too. The place itself looks cute, next time I'm in MA I'll have to head in!

Fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, and a fast casual vibe make Banh Mi Oi a compelling choice for a small to medium sized lunch or dinner. My friend and I split a vegetarian lemongrass seitan sandwich, as well as the fresh vegetarian rolls. The rolls were exquisitely fresh, just as promised, and we both found the vegan bologna to add welcome salt and umami. The sandwich had incredibly fresh bread - it couldn't have been more than two hours old. I wish it had had better ingredient distribution though - I was getting a totally different flavor profile from bite to bite (one bite was just hot, another was just pickled veg).

Super cute cafe. I got the traditional Vietnamese Iced coffee. It was good but I think I should've asked for more condensed milk because the coffee was too strong for me But it was still good nonetheless. My partner got the Tropical Breeze which was pretty good from the sip I tried. I really enjoyed the crispy shrimp Banh mi. I wished they had once that was just a regular seasoned shrimp without being batter fried. I bet that would be really good as well. Definitely would return back to try another Banh Mi besides the shrimp.

Pricey, but yummy! I ordered a takeout BBQ pork banh mi. For $10, it was on the smaller side and I wasn't completely full after. However, it was very tasty! There was plenty of BBQ pork and pickled carrot/radish, etc. The baguette bread was toasted and crunchy. I would probably order again for a quick lunch!

We had heard a lot of good things about this new restaurant and just had to try it for ourselves...and we were not disappointed! We arrived early from our online order and the 3 gentlemen behind the counter were very friendly, organized and efficient! They were getting busy during this weekday noon time lunch hour, but they did a great job! The interior was super cute and very clean. Not a very large dining area, but appropriate for this small establishment with a small menu of the classic vietnamese eats. We got take-out and were very happy with our lunch! My mom got the BBQ vermicelli with extra crispy shrimp and I got the BBQ chicken bánh mì. The flavor for both our meals were incredible, and the veggies were very fresh. You could tell the sub roll was freshly made with the crispy exterior and the soft light fluffy dough interior. I particularly loved the fact also that it wasn't oversaturated with the sauce. I've had bánh mì at other places before and the bread gets so soggy! All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic and fresh vietnamese food served by their friendly and efficient staff! You will not be disappointed!

I got inspired by watching youtube to make a jambon buerre sandwich - supposedly a popular quick sandwich for Parisians. The sandwich is half a baguette with butter and French bistro ham. I tried searching all over for the French bistro ham with no luck. The only options were online sources with expensive shipping and/or expensive minimum order sizes. Somehow I stumbled upon MA-France nearby in Arlington and they sell jambon-buerre sandwiches. It's a small shop that sells sandwiches, pastries, and a small offering of French food products. Lots of pastries and baked goods like quiche, tarts, cookies, croissants, etc. The cheese offerings were very limited and basic. I can imagine that the cheeses that they sell are the same types and brands that they use for making sandwiches. For example, they sell President brand Brie - that you can also buy at Costco and market basket. Disappointing, but understandable because they can't afford to buy more variety and more expensive offerings without a big enough client base to buy those cheeses before they go bad. Getting back to the sandwich - it was half a baguette with some thick slices of butter and two pieces of French bistro ham. The bread was kind of dense and the crust was more chewy than crispy. I was disappointed that they didn't bother to spread the butter, but if they're not selling enough sandwiches then they're probably keeping the butter in the refrigerator - making it too difficult to spread. When I got home I fixed up the sandwich to my liking. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but not good enough to make me want to go back. At least I was able to solve my hunger for the jambon buerre sandwich.

Now it's quite underwhelming. The apricot croissant is now some smaller glorified danish that has no richness or personality. The plain croissant is quite "bready" now, whereas it used to be light and buttery. I have a sneaking suspicion that they have a different croissant supplier now. What saved this spot from a lower grade is that the pain au raisin and chausson aux pommes are passable. Also a save is that they still offer various French products, from soaps to cheeses to canned goods. I have to find a new French bakery in the area.

The shop has a cozy, intimate feel, and one of my favorite details was the large window into the kitchen, where you can watch the bakers preparing dough and pulling fresh pastries straight from the oven. It operates primarily as a grab-and-go bakery with only limited seating, but the steady stream of customers gives it the lively atmosphere of a neighborhood favorite. The pain au chocolat was one of the standout pastries from my visit. The laminated layers were beautifully defined, creating a crisp, flaky exterior that shattered with each bite while revealing a light, airy honeycomb interior. Inside, the dark chocolate was rich and evenly distributed, adding just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the buttery pastry. It's an excellent example of a classic done well, with careful attention to both texture and balance. The classic croissant was equally impressive. It had a rich buttery aroma the moment I opened the bag, with a crisp, golden shell that gave way to a soft, pull-apart interior. The pastry felt light despite its richness, striking the balance that makes a truly great croissant. Every layer was distinct, and it never felt greasy or overly heavy. Since everything is baked fresh in relatively small batches, timing your visit makes a difference. Many of the most popular pastries sell out well before noon, so arriving earlier gives you the best selection. Even during the morning rush, the staff kept the line moving efficiently, making it easy to grab a box of pastries without a long wait. Nouvé Bakery is a fantastic addition to Lexington's bakery scene. The quality of the lamination, the careful execution of the classics, and the fresh-baked experience make it well worth the trip. Whether you're stopping by for a simple butter croissant or the excellent pain au chocolat, it's the kind of bakery that's easy to revisit whenever you're craving authentic French pastries made with care.
