I've seen Noodles & Company throughout the valley and even gave it a chance when I was an omnivore but couldn't remember what I ate and how it was. We were really the mood for noodles and my instinct was to go to any number of the rated locations from Yelp but for one reason or another they were simply too far or too expensive or perhaps not vegetarian / vegan friendly. I checked online to ensure that several of their dishes were vegetarian and vegan friendly and they stated as much. Here's a tip. Go to their website and then click on NUTRITION, ALLERGEN & DIETARY LIFESTYLE CALCULATOR. You'll have to click again for the T&C but then you can put in the allergens and Noodles & Company will provide you with not only what you can order but how to say it at the counter. I thought that was really cool. It was prime dinner time and it wasn't busy. Usually that spells doom but I kept an open mind. Aubrey was our cashier and she was casually friendly but nothing that made it memorable. I ordered the Spicy Peanut Sauce with tofu and my wife ordered the Pad Thai without meat or tofu. There wasn't any other special instructions that I needed to make so was feeling fairly confident. We waited for our order and I didn't think about it but Noodles makes each order as they go, which is good but it really depends on how you like your noodles. The expeditor brought out our orders and I was very impressed with the presentation. I mean really impressed. So impressed I took a several pics. Then it went all downhill from there. While the presentation is perfection my veggies were undercooked and my noodles as well as my wife's noodles were hard. The worse part was there was some severe lack of seasoning. I was looking for some more flavors. The peanut sauce and the chopped peanuts were lackluster in taste. It was very disappointing. I had to constantly drizzle Sriracha on top of my beautiful dish to give it some spice and additional flavor. My wife had hard noodles too and she forgot to tell Aubrey no peanuts. Her dish was gorgeously played as well but lacked flavors. We were really looking for a fireworks or flavor but it just wasn't there. We talked about it and soon discovered that the chain locations are just that way so they cater to more people and as fas the noodles go, since they are made to order, they probably have a standard time of less than what they need to be so that the dishes are prepared in a timely manner. While Noodles & Company maybe a fit for most, it's not going to work for us. I applaud the kitchen team on their plating. For a chain, it's a A+ presentation but everything else is just average.

First time at Noodles & Company, I thought the concept was great, all the Italian pasta classics alongside Asian noodles under the same roof. The execution however was very poor; I like my pasta al dente, but our Meatballs spaghetti and Shrimp Scampi penne were way undercooked, the flavor was ok, the whole thing was unconvincing. I'll pass.

Cheese stuffed tortellini with white sauce and chicken! So delicious!

I actually really liked this place! I called ahead a did the drive thru to pick up here in Boise. I ordered cheese stiffed tortellini with chicken and white sauce. I also tried the shrimp scampi with zucchini noodles. Both were delicious and the amounts are big so I had leftovers. I like how there is the option of eating healthier with using zucchini instead of pasta. They also have many other choices including cauliflower. Price was reasonable for the amount you get ! I'll go again :)

    Flat stickers aka Potstickers

I thought I knew what to expect when I came here. That's why I ordered the potstickers. Finally something new and unique! Never in my life did I ever think I would ever be served a hard, fried, greasy sack of meat comparable to the dehydrated meat found in cup noodles. On top of that it seemed they were run over with a steamroller. New? Yes. Unique? Sure. Would I recommend this to my worst enemy? Likely. I also don't recommend the noodles.

$33 to get home with the wrong noodles, stinks. I wanted to try the mac and cheese, instead I did not eat. The girl who packed my bag last night seriously needs to slow down and recheck her tickets. Please and thank you.

Chain resturants normally have the impact on me that garlic does on a vampire. I retreat with haste at the very idea. Yet I have eaten in more chains in the six months since moving to this area than in the sixteen years combined before. I'm not kidding. Most of those experiences were woeful so I walked into Noodles & Company with low expectations. Imagine my surprise to find myself a fan! I found friendly people, efficient order and service model, good food using fresh ingredients and served at the table in real dishes, not plastic, along with fair prices. THE GREETING: My husband and I paused at the menu board. An employee welcomed us warmly to ask if this was our first visit. When we said yes, he went on, "I hope you'll let me take about 30 seconds and I'd like to explain how this works at Noodles and Company..." My knee jerk thought was "I do not need a tutorial on ordering fast food" but then I realized I was being jerk. Because this man was so engaging and as it turns out I really did find the overview useful! HOW IT WORKS IN A NUTSHELL FOR "NOODLE-NEWBIES". 1. Look at the menu board to choose your entree. The focus is noodle bowls, but there are also three or four salads, and equal number of soups and also a few sandwiches plus a flatbread. There are dozen-ish items in noodle bowl options listed with photos in rows. They are logically arranged so narrowing down to answer, "What sounds good today?" is pretty easy. Each of the vertical rows is a regional / ethnic specialty. First Row - Mediterranean / Italian. Second Row - Asia / Chinese, Thai, Japanese. Third Row - American / although with specialties on that list like Stroganoff or Spaghetti with meatballs. The top item in each row is the best seller in that specialty. Worth mentioning that all of the noodle dishes start out as vegetarian. Not to get ahead of myself because in everything is connected to everything else mode, this will lead us to steps three through five. 2. Choose large or small bowl size. The large is nearly twice as much food for only about a buck and a quarter more money. Being lighter eaters, we thought the small was swell. Being types to support the underdog, we chose from lower rows of options. Being in the mood for SE Asian flavors, we chose rice noodle dishes, one with a bit of kick from a peanut sauce and the other with a slightly sweet coconut curry. 3. Mosey to the counter to place your order with a friendly staff person. This is when you can order protein to add to your dish if you want to, from tofu to chicken, pork, beef, meatballs or shrimp to top it off. You can also decide if you want soup or side salad added to your order of noodles for a pittance extra charge. 4. Pay for your meal and notice at how little it costs. All the noodle dishes start out at the same price for small and then another for large. It is the addition of proteins that makes the price go up. A couple of the noodle bowls most typically ordered with a protein, like spaghetti and meatballs or beef stroganoff, are priced with the meat included. But you can subtract that (mushroom stroganoff anyone) with cost deducted too. 5. The friendly counter person will give you a number. Take it a table in the clean, brightly lit space (or on the patio in nice weather) and wait on one of the nice service staff to bring you your meal on real dishes with real cutlery. While you wait you can read the sign about the company's commitment to holding down waste by using dishes that can be rewashed and not end up in landfills. (Read fast, the food is quick to arrive.) I despise plastic containers and utensils in fast food places. The real deal here was a lovely surprise. 6. Tuck into those noodles and enjoy fresh flavors and veggies cooked just so for pretty-darned-good food while you think about hatl you'll order next time, since you know there will be one. And just when you thought it couldn't get better for a fast casual food model it does when you find you don't need to 'bus your own'. Ta dum! DIETS: All items have calorie counts posted and that sure does give one pause about how super diet friendly some of these dishes are while others can bust the diet bank. Also, gluten free items on menu. FUN: For entertainment, stand by the soda machine, which is also the water dispensary, and see how long it takes first timers to figure out how it works. Which won't be long as it seems the been there before timers are eager to help others learn how the cool contraption functions. Social bonding experience. SERVICE: It is worth saying that every employee here conveyed a sense they were glad we were there and they hoped we'd come back. Delightful. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: The lot is shared by a couple of other businesses, including Blaze pizza. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible parking: Level in. Standard height seating. Ample aisleway

Kids meal, most of the cheese on the Mac and cheese wasn't even melted.

We walked in and we were greeted by a very nice lady. She explained the menu to us, answered all of our questions. We received our food within 10 minutes of sitting down. My order was wrong. They brought the right order out after another 2. My food was cold... (BBQ pulled pork Mac) & it wasn't very good. I basically helped my husband eat his. I can't say we would go back here.

    Monster bowl, with skimpy serving.

Usually really good, but not this time. Burned chicken with no sauce on pad thai. Probably not ordering again.
