Good Asian food with a kickass name on a stretch of Lawrence that doesn't charge for parking (Yay!) Decor was ok, but the chairs are very uncomfortable - wouldn't want to stay for an extended period of time. Food was good. We ordered the Spicy Japanese Udon (Not spicy, request they spice it up) and the Thai Cashew, both ordered with tofu. I like the way they prepare the tofu, but they could give you more (maybe 5-6 pieces per dish). The sauces on both were very good, pretty light but yet very tasty. I've been living in Albany Park now for a year, and have been wanting to try this place forever. They recently just started a 4.50 lunch special which is amazing. It's just the right portion, and the perfect price. I've been here twice in the past week and the food has been superb. Everything was fresh, expertly prepared, and perfectly tempered. We kind of happened upon this place after just missing the Lawrence bus (on a Sunday) and thus being forced to hoof it from the Irish American Heritage Center back to Albany Park. It was total great luck - Noodles Party it is a real find. They have an assortment of pan-Asian dishes that cover a huge range of nationalities: Malay, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, Chinese and Japanese. We tried a couple soups and the pho was fantastic. I also really enjoyed the Malaysian Charred Noodles - think a complex Chow Fun with spicy sausage and shrimp. The apps (we had satay and egg rolls) were solid but not spectacular. Noodles Party is a great place to get out of your normal rut of Chinese or Thai and try some truly different dishes. Best of all, we had two soups, two apps and an entrée and paid $24 with delivery and tip. It was a Sunday night around 8:30 pm. I was hungry and decided to give the neighborhood Pan-Asian restaurant a try. I ordered Pick-Up (delivery is $2) since I was down the street. They serve all Asian cuisine, and I was in a SUSHI mood, and decided to try some from here. BIG MISTAKE. I ordered their California Roll, Spicy Salmon Maki, and Sweet Potato Maki. All were gross; the rice was hard and cold (not the correct sushi rice) and seemed old and dried out. I was really upset, as other reviewers said their sushi was okay. This definitely was sub-par. I ended up picking the rice off and just eating the filling, it was that bad. The only reason they get one star was for the decent crab rangoons I ordered along with the yucky sushi. Otherwise they would have received zero stars. Rangoons and the maki 3 rolls totaled about $18. I would try their Thai dishes next time since the owners are Thai and would prob do a better job than imitating their sad Japanese sushi. Sushi NOT recommended. For my first experience with Noodles, I did carry out. We ordered green curry with chicken, pad see eiw with beef and crab rangoon. The green curry was perfectly balanced, not too spicy, not too coconut milky, but just right. My husband enjoyed the pad see eiw; it had a good amount of bite-sized beef. The crab rangoon was a little soggy from sitting in styrofoam for 10+ minutes and a bit lacking in stuffing, but it hit the spot. I look forward to frequenting this place in the future and trying some other Asian dishes. Although someone posted here that they don't deliver, the menu says they do, and the man at the counter today said they do as well, and to my area (Jeff Park). Online ordering?? I'm in!! I admit, though, the menu was a little overwhelming for me. Noodles Party stays true to its name - they offer noodles from a billion different countries! Filipino, Thai, Viet, Cambodian, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanse - if you're in the mood for one particular noodle, I'm SURE you can find it on this menu. My fam and I ordered a good variety of noodles. The Singapore noodles were "too wet" for my dad. I think they use a thicker type of rice noodle, too, than what we're used to from Chinese restaurants. The pad see ewe was solid, though. Just enough sweetness to the noodles and lotsa broccoli. The ginger/beef stir fry was also very good - loved the the oyster sauce. Downside: The delivery took over and hour. Upside: When I called into the restaurant, the employee was super nice and apologetic about the extra wait time. Nice! I'll definitely give them another try when I'm in my parents 'hood. I'm not rating this place on the entrees because we both ordered dishes we were unfamiliar with and I don't think it's fair to judge the quality of a place by an unfamiliar dish which I might not like even if James Beard came down from heaven to fix it for me. But honestly? I really hated my Indonesian Bakmi Goreng. Dawn similarly hated her Maylay Charred Noodles. I ate some of hers, and found it okay, but nothing I'd order again. She pretty much hated the Bakmi Goreng, too. If I rated on those, this place would lose another star. I was very disappointed in the spring rolls, and found the satay to be just so-so. I did try the satay combo because I thought it would be fun to sample the different kinds rather than just ordering the chicken as usual. The chicken was okay, nothing special, the shrimp was pretty tasteless and the tofu nothing to write home about (Though be fair, tofu isn't an easy ingredient to work with.) The pork was tasty enough though nothing that knocked my socks off, and the beef was tough, with the same lack of flavor I found in the chicken and pork. The spring rolls were about as dry and tasteless as I've ever eaten, served with a light, mostly flavorless sauce. How do you make spring rolls boring? And in spite of the stated ingredients -- tofu, eggs, sprouts and cucumber -- what I got was a few sprouts, a little avocado and a load of carrots. Now I love carrots, but in this context... not so much. I ordered through GrubHub so I can't speak to the way they deal with customers. The delivery guy seemed nice enough and the food arrived in a timely manner, well packed and still hot. The Thai iced coffee was packed with the hot food, though, which did nothing to improve either. Tofu Satay, yay!!! So good! Wish they would include the cucumber salad with the satay like most places do, but the tofu is so good...I can get past it! Lots of different noodle dishes to choose from for a noodle nut like me. Not your typical menu- they have Thai, Japanese, & Indonesian noodles. I believe the man who takes the orders during the week also makes the food. He is fast & friendly. There aren't many non-vegetarian Asian restaurants that offer tofu satay option, so I am grateful to have found one that does! read more

One of our go-to takeout spots in the area. The Singapore noodles are some of the best I've had and have an amazing cinnamon spice to them. The lumpia is also a must. I have been to Noodles Party twice and the second time really sealed the deal that I would like to come here again and again. The $4.50 weekday Lunch Special cannot be beat! You choose an Appetizer and an Entree. The portion sizes are great for the price you pay. The last time I was there I ordered the Fresh Spring Rolls, Thai Fried Rice and the French Maki. The spring rolls were indeed fresh but the cuts were very odd. Not very even but obviously this does not affect the taste of the food. The Thai Fried Rice was excellent as well. I wasn't expecting the French Maki to blow me away as this place just has so many different types of Asian food on the menu. The Maki was actually pretty good. What could be better about it are the way it is rolled and sliced. Eh, it was cheap. $5 for about 5 pieces. My dining partner had the Pancit. I was told it was good but required a bit of salt. I've seen the same guy there when I've went for lunch so I'm assuming he is the owner. He is very friendly. The food is made to order so you may wait awhile before you are served. I am really glad that this place is in that neighborhood. We spent about $22 with gratuity during lunch. This included our lunch special orders, my maki and a few drinks. My girlfriend and I were in search of Korean food so we headed up north to Lawrence Ave. We didn't really have a destination in mind; we were just in search of Korean food. We ended up stumbling upon Noodles Party and figured we'd give it a go. With the exception of one family, this place was deserted which is usually the first clue that it's no good. How wrong we were as this place really does have excellent Asian food. We ordered Philipino Lumpina (small egg rolls) to start which were really good. We got an order of Thai Rice soup which was excellent - reminded me of my Chinese grandmother's Juk (sp.). You can't go wrong with any of the noodle dishes here. Everything is fresh and the waiter/owner was very friendly. Total bill for two with tip was $28 and it's BYOB to boot. This place is worth the trip even if it's not Korean. read more

So let me start this off by letting you know I purposely opened a Yelp account to write about this place. That's how horrible my experience was of this place. I found this place online and saw what "Awesome" lunch combos for under $5. Why not right? Wrong. I ordered the wonton noodles lunch special. Being Chinese and far from Chinatown, I craved wonton noodles soooooo bad. Now mind you the first time I came here I came with my BFF ready to sit down and have a good meal and chat. As we sat down I don't see the lunch special menu. I asked the man that worked there and he tells me it's carry out only. Why wasn't that mentioned on their website!? So then I looked at the prices and left because I am not paying full price for a place I've never tried. Lunch specials are a great way to try a place before coming back and spending good money and boy am I glad we left. But, I was still tempted to try this place. What I read online sounded real good. It comes with pork wonton (not the shrimp I'm used to but that's ok), BBQ pork, bean sprouts and green onions with appetizer. I picked the veggie potstickers. This time my cousin went to pick up the order. She calls me and tells me that our wonton noodles DID NOT come with broth. WTF!? She then went back inside just to make sure they didn't forget it. The lady was rude to her and told her that doesn't come with but yet when you look at the regular menu it clearly says soup. Also the portion was VERY small. The BBQ pork looks like it's been sitting in the fridge for weeks. The veggie potsticker was small and sucked. And we only got ONE wonton. Yes you read right. ONE. I've eaten here more times than I count, not to mention the numerous time I've had carry out or delivery. It's my "go to place" to take friends or have a delicious meal at home. Friendly staff. Fast delivery. Very inexpensive. My meal is always at my door super fast, well under the predicted delivery time per the website - same for when I eat in or carry out. I was disappointed when they stopped having maki on the menu (the sweet potato maki was to DIE for, and so cheap!). However, there are so many other choices I can't complain. There have been times I would have like to eat Saturday lunch there, but they don't open until 3 pm Saturday. Again, can't complain. My favorites? Noodles Party has almost never let me down. It's a Pan-Asian party with dishes from China, Japan, Indonesia, the Phillipines, Thailand and probably more! It has everything you could imagine wanting from any number of Asian restaurants, all within one modest establishment! The pros: 1. Delicious to a nearly unbearable degree. I crave Noodle Party like a fat girl craves cake. And I'm fat so I know about cake cravings baby. 2. Cheap and tasty dinners with portions that are neither tiny nor mountainous like some places, that try to disguise their food's crappiness by giving you so much that you feel bad about complaining. 3. Cheap(er) and filling lunch specials. 4. Appetizers that actually tease the appetite with flavor instead of drowning it in a sea of oil and salty sadness. 5. Consistent quality of food, flavors, and spicy level variable by request. When I have a cold, I beg the owner to spice my Panang curry to the max so I can burn my sinuses into functionality. 6. Friendly and humorous owner. 7. Ample seating. 8. Colorful fish tank and its army of ever-bickering, always-breeding guppies. 9. Near my house! The cons: 1. Delivery takes forever and a day. (1-2 hours at times!) 2. Ordering lunch specials to be delivered leaves room for substitution on the part of the order-taker. We've gotten some interesting interpretations of what we ordered. Deliciousness still trumps goofy food combos. 3. The delivery driver must launch my food from the restaurant via catapult to save on space in his car, because my delivery orders are usually busted up / leaking / squished. So basically, as long as I am not a lazy bum and go get my food or dine in, the experience is sublime. But even with the crazy delivery, the food is still good enough for many many repeat visits. This place is good, but maybe not a go-to. The broth in the Wonton soup is great. The contents inside the broth are so-so, pretty flavorless. Pineapple fried rice (chicken, no raisins) was pretty good. Not great. I did throw a egg on top which made it great but that's just personal preference and from my own kitchen. Lumpia rolls killed it for me. I spent some time in the Philippines and while I did not expect perfectly authentic.... these taste like they took Italian sausage from the grocery store and wrapped wonton papers around it. They are just bad. I was quite shocked at the many fans of them. VALUE AND QUALITY ! This is my new twice-a-week lunch spot. For $4.50 you can select one appetizer and one entree from almost the entire menu. In the past two months I have been there for lunch dozens of times and everyone I bring is impressed with the value. The portions are smaller, but everything tastes fresh and flavorful. It seems like often it is a one man show-serving and cooking- and I am constantly amazed at the quality of the product under these circumstances. It is not fancy or chic inside, but it is clean and there are usually retro tunes to entertain diners. I have always parked on the block during lunch with no meters to feed. Got three orders to go that we would share so we could have our own "noodles party" at home while watching something on the TiVo. We shared some pancit, Malay charred noodles, and pad siew. The pancit was probably the best item out of the 3, it had lots of flavor and was just the right amount of spiciness. The Malay charred noodles didn't have the smokey flavor that was promised in the description, and the pad siew was too sweet and not spicy at all despite the request for medium spiciness. On the upside, the items themselves are reasonably priced, and it is nice that you can place your order online using their website. read more

I had really been craving some Pho, but since I'm in the Portage Park area there aren't many good options in this area. I actually yelped pho in my area & this place came up. When I went with my husband the pho dish was actually just a side dish of soup, not the huge bowl I had been imagining with all the fixings.... so, I ended up ordering Yum Woon Sen (with sliced chicken instead of ground chicken) and my husband ordered basil fried rice. My husbands fried rice was good, not the best, but good. My yum woon sen was a little on the sweet side, and I'm used to having it served on lettuce, but this just came with large wedges of tomato (I am not a fan of large pieces of raw tomato..... at all) and huge chunks of chopped onion. The shrimp and the chicken were really good though. I will try Noodles Party again, but I won't be ordering the yum woon sen again. Maybe pad thai? read more

Decent Thai food. It's not stellar, but it's not the worst. Used to live down the street from this place, so I would just frequent it for convenience. The owner was very generous, and would sometimes give my (ex) boyfriend and I free food. The place is generally empty; it's not a busy place whatsoever. It's clean and nicely decorated. I hunted this place down because it used to be my go-to spot when it was on North Avenue (previously Hi Ricky, Zen Noodle). There are a couple of dishes that I crave and return for (Indonesian Bakmi Goreng and Lumpia) and they are still well represented. Their portions are a decent size (enough for me to have two meals) and the food is always fast. The atmosphere at the new place is dismal, unlike at the previous location, but the food remains tasty! Food was so good I actually refused post dinner european chocolate to continue to savor my meal. Crab rangoon - always potential for glob of cream cheese factor - was nummy not greasy & $3.95 for 6. My friend ordered pork satay as an appetizer which I was going to just try to be polite and I practically slapped his hand away from the rest. I had Tiger Shrimp ($7.50 people) and it was all full of firm mushrooms, sweet shrimpies and lemongrass. Someone else had General's Sweet and Sour which wins for presentation. Fast delivery! Good sauces and a healthy amount of spice. Large portions. My entree "Chow Fun" had generous tofu slices, but skimpy vegetable assortment. My husband's pancit entree was good, but needed more spice and was a little skimpy on the protein assortment--two shrimp, a couple chunks of chicken, two slices of pork. Appetizers were disappointing, especially for the price! Skip the crab rangoon, chicken pot stickers (saltiest soy sauce ever!), and even the edamame. Instead go for a second entree to share! I think they do noodles well, so I'd order something noodle-y again. I've had the Pho Bo before and for a quick fix it's pretty good, but nothing like what you can get near Argyle. The Beef Pad Thai was poor per my friend who is a Pad Thai fanatic. The miso soups tofu was floating and shouldn't be doing that. The beef teriyaki was plentiful in meat but dry and lacking in overall flavor and juice. The Crab Rangoon's were delicious per your average Crab Rangoon nothing special. We opted for the free vegetable pot stickers coupon and were disappointed in those as well. The sauce was interesting and had a nice kick to it. We have a lot of Thai restaurants near us in Albany Park, but I really like this place because the menu includes Thai and other Asian dishes. As a vegetarian, I like that almost all of the dishes include the option of adding tofu instead of meat. I also like the different rice options, like jasmine and brown rice. It's not my favorite place for Pad Thai, but I love many of the other rice and noodle dishes including the Garlic Stir Fry, Malaysian Indian Noodles, Tangy Peanut Noodles, Thai Tofu Satay, and the Spicy Japanese Udon. The sauces are nice and light, not too thick and oily, and portions are very reasonable. I was not as impressed the Mongolian Stir Fry and the Kung Pao Stir Fry. I think the peanuts were the only thing that really differentiated the two dishes. The appetizers are yummy, but pretty basic. I can't comment on the service or atmosphere, since we've ordered everything for take-out, which is super quick. We order from here at least once a week. read more

I used to have a favorite place in the city and then they closed so its just been Fail after Fail since then. The Food was EXCELLENT to say the least. We ordered: Pork Fried Rice - Great portion (still have some in the fridge) and very tasty. Tiger Shrimp - Most delicious, great great flavor and again with the large portion. Chicken Dumplings & Crab Rangoon - Both delicious (especially the Rangoon) and loved the paired sauces. Lived in Chicago for many years, ordered from many restaurants. This is by far the worst service I've ever experienced and nearly the worst food! After waiting for well over an hour and a half for a delivery of a couple simple noodle dishes and a soup order and crab Rangoon. I called to complain and ask for a discount. The woman in the other end of the phone said no and when I protested she and I quote said "I don't care"! A verbal confrontation the tool place. Finally I gave up and said I would post on YELP. Noodles Party is a small Asian restaurant with an ambitious menu featuring dishes from many countries (China, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia). Interesting enough, I did not see any Korean-style dishes on the menu (a nod to the Korean restaurant that is really close by?). I believe the owner is Thai, as the small dining area is decorated with photos and figurines of Thailand. I tried to cover a few countries in my takeout order, which was rapidly prepared in about ten minutes. The Philipino Lumpia are like little crunchy egg rolls, with a dense and meaty pork filling. The sweet and sour sauce was very subtle. The Bamee Wonton has Chinese pork wonton dumplings, thin egg noodles, BBQ pork slices, and fresh-tasting bean sprouts which added a fine texture to this dish. The Masaman Curry is their only curry dish without a hot and spicy "flame" symbol next to it. This Indian-Thai dish featured coconut milk, curry, peanuts, onion and potato along with your choice of meat (I chose chicken) and rice (brown, though on second thought jasmine rice may have worked better with the gravy).
