Went out of our way to eat here last evening on my daughter's suggestion due its high ratings. It was well worth the trip and time. While it's a little hole in the wall (10 seats indoors), the food is excellent, and very, very fresh. We had the Pad See Ewe and the Pad Thai, as well as the Pot Stickers (chicken) and Egg Rolls (veggie), Everything came out promptly and piping hot. (How can it not, with only 10 seats?) There was a great deal of take out activity, further supporting our view that the place's reputation for excellent food is shared by locals. Prices are modest, and portions hearty. We ordered their food and we enjoyed it very much. We got the chicken pad Thai, which was delicious and the beef pad see ew was also delicious. Their papaya salad could use more flavor. It kind of lacked.. Didn't care for much of the moo ping pork app. Strangely GrubHub is where we ordered it from and it didn't allow us to order any appetizers. They weren't even on the menu list. My friend and I decided to do a Thai takeout night and wanted to support a local spot so we decided to order here. I've been here a couple of times. My first couple times were stellar when they first opened and my latest time not so great. I decided to give it another try so We ordered the panang curry and massamum curry. We did end up waiting a very long time for delivery but that's ok because sometimes you have to wait for good food. While the curry in flavor was delicious, it was incredibly thin like soup! On top of it, they do not give you much rice at all. Only a scoop of rice comes with a big container of curry, which makes no sense. Rice is super cheap--give the people more rice to enjoy with their meal ya'll. I won't be back. Too many good Thai spots to support. read more

R Haan Thai is a tiny restaurant on Lincoln Ave just south of Peterson Ave. How small is tiny you may ask? Then again you may not ask but I'm going to tell you anyway. There are 10 seats and I reserved 5 of them. Shortly after we came in a party of 4 came in and took 4 more seats. Just after that 2 guys came in but unfortunately there was only one seat left. They opted to eat outside as they have a small seating area on the sidewalk in front. We ordered the following dishes to split among our table. * We started w/Chicken satay w/peanut sauce. This was perfect an order of 5 pieces). This also came w/a small dish of cucumbers & red peppers in vinegar * 2 large orders of Tom Kha soup which was also enough for 5 people. This was a little too sweet for my taste preference. * Nam Tok Salad- Grilled beef w/red onions, green onions, roasted rice powder, Thai chili & spicy lime dressing served nicely spiced and seasoned served over lettuce leaves. * Crispy Pork Belly - Tasty but I've been spoiled by the Filipino Crispy Pata (fried pork knuckle) * Ground Chicken w/Thai Basil, onions, carrots & red peppers. * Pad Thai - Thai Noodles w/bean sprouts, egg, green onions, ground peanuts, cabbage, lime & carrots. This was good but too sweet for my taste. The service was good but the one woman was the Jack of all trades & was kept busy running between the tables & kitchen. In the middle of the workday, I was haunted by a craving for Thai food. Specifically, noodles. Noodles are always a comfort food to me & it's been forever since I've ordered Thai. Of course, I find myself on DoorDash, while cross-referencing Yelp. (Yes, this is how I make my delivery decisions & it works out!) I came across R Haan Thai. Seemed to check off all the boxes - nearby, good looking food pics, good reviews. Workload picked up & before you know it, the day was over but I needed to order my food. Chicken Pad Thai it is, not spicy, no peanuts, & a coke. Somehow, DoorDash didn't display my "special instructions" so in a panic, I called the resto. The gentleman who answered the phone was very polite & checked my food. He assured it me it was fine. Food eventually arrives, it's glorious & there I am, shamelessly stuffing my face. Noodles were perfect, plenty of chicken, all complimented with bean sprouts, egg, a bit of cabbage & carrot. Feeling full & thankful, the phone rings. It's the restaurant & the same man I spoke to earlier on the other end. He asked if I got the pad Thai & if was it okay. SIR - it was more than okay. It was amazing. They have fire entrées, love the Penang curry, Pad Thai, is my go to, but I really love the basal fried rice w chicken or shrimp and extra basil leaves. Don't ask me about the beef. I've never had it but I'm sure that is good here too. Very solid locally owned and operated business. People are always super friendly here. For my birthday last month I made sure that I ordered catering and it was so delicious everyone loved it. You can't go wrong with this place. Lovely small restaurant on the west ridge area. I finally decided to give them a try after many times passing by and I am so happy we finally stopped. I didnt know inside it was actually so small, it only have 3 tables so its more like a grab and go or maybe in summer when they add the patio more people could fit in but for now its very small the space. Now food, I order a pad thai (I know basic) and hubby ordered beef salad. Both places were delicious, well done. I think what it stand out for me was actually the service, the girl working there was so nice and attentive, I felt welcome and not in rush despite her been alone. Casual eatery located in a tiny space across from the local high school. Inside their (minuscule) carryout building are maybe three small tables for those dining-in. Since it's still early in this possible end of the pandemic phase, too tight a space for me. However, while picking up food, two tables (4 ea) had about 8 guests total. Based on reviews, placed a dinner order for three. Three meals with differing levels of spice (heat) and three appetizers. Order placed through the app and spice levels mentioned in the notes boxes. I wish their site suggested a rating scale for spice levels. The typical Thai restaurant five scale rating. All in all, the food was decent but I wouldn't peg it as mind blowing. Pad Thai chicken was forgettable. Pad woon sen w/ a handful of large shrimps, decent. Beef red curry stole the show. The tenderness of the beef and the flavors of the curry. Yum. That and the appetizers. Actually, I could have finished my meal on just appetizers. The chive dumplings are large, packed full and tasty. Size portions and cost, similar to most premium Thai in the area. Always pleasant to try a new Thai spot but if you're going to drop this kind of coin $$, there are a couple highly rated challengers nearby that you should try also. read more

I decided to try this out one night and my only regret is that I didn't try it sooner. I placed an order online and it was ready in under 20 min. I got the pad see ew, egg rolls and crab Rangoon. The portion sizes were generous given how reasonable the prices were. The food itself was so good, fresh and not greasy. We're in the neighborhood and have driven by this restaurant a thousand times. Previous Yelp reviews speak highly and we were in the mood for Thai food. Well, we just found our 'go-to' Thai restaurant with R Haan Thai. We had Papaya Salad, Basil Leaves, and Pad Kee Mao with beef. All excellent flavors. Brightly colored and fresh vegetables, well cooked meats, and appropriate spice levels to what we ordered. All tasted fresh, clean, and light. The restaurant has only a few tables but its pleasant. Actually very Satisfied with all my food. First time ordering from this Restaurant and very pleased with everything I had ordered. Curry Puff ( you can tell they are made fresh by the outer pastry. The chicken and the potato was just enough.) Hor Mok (when I opened up the box i smelled the Curry & the Herbs. Smells just like the way they make it in Thailand. The Spice is just right and the consistency is Perfect. ) Fried Tofu (is always my favorite go to) Moo Ping (so tasty with the sticky rice. Very moist and flavorful) Chive Dumplings ( the outer layer was just the right Crispyness. I just wished the sauce was a bit more thicker it was a bit liquidity for my liking. ) Pad Thai Beef ( was very good. The beef was good too. Just the right amount of sauce and texture. ) I just wished they gave me some hot sauce or dried chilli on the side. I guess I have to request it next time. There isn't anything here I've tried that isn't delicious. I was having a birthday party for my husband for about 12 people and the owners graciously came in on a Sunday when they're normally closed to get us our catering order. We ordered extra to send some home with people because it's just that good. This is my husband's favorite restaurant, he says it tastes just like food he had when he lived in Thailand. Everyone on the phone was so accommodating and kind. The food was amazing--very fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The green curry is fantastic and flavorful.
