Thanks to my deep dive and discovery on Yelp, MCCB turned out to be the perfect spot to achieve this. The restaurant has held its Michelin status for five years now, and for my first time visiting, the flavors here were incredible. Please note: the restaurant signage is not easily visible from the street since the storefront faces inward toward the mall plaza, and while looking for it, I ended up asking a local man and his wife for directions. He was so kind and welcoming that he unexpectedly left his wife on the sidewalk, my husband in the car, and walked me right across the street and into the mall to point it out from the inside! WAIT TIME: there is a 1 to 1.25 hour wait period to be seated for a table, and a $10 fee via credit card is required to secure your spot, which is then fully transferable to your bill upon checkout. The wait is a great time to walk, explore the shops, restaurants, all Chinatown has to offer, and get your steps and miles in! SERVICE: our first server, Allen, was a bit on the stiff, curt side, but overall nice. However, we had to move from a two-top table to a four-top to accommodate all the dishes we were trying. In that changeover, we were blessed to get one of the BEST servers there, Ashley, who made the experience wonderful. FOOD: we ordered an absolute feast, starting with three starters. The Cheng Du Style Dumplings were fantastic. The Crispy Crab Rangoons were actually not mini at all and had a great crunch. The Szechuan Style Cucumber was a bit underwhelming and a slight bit on the soft side for my tastes, as I prefer my veggies crunchy even when cooked. We ordered everything with the mild heat option so there was no overwhelming spice, just great flavor. For the main dishes, we started with the Cauliflower Flank Steak and added broccoli to it, which was a fantastic addition. It is cooked in an oyster sauce and has none of the standard sweeter seasonings of the other dishes. I chose this to balance a sweet and salty rationing across my dishes, finding that MCCB is a great place to get that perfect balance. The Chicken in Spicy Garlic Sauce was perfect with the mild heat option as well, and the Honey Black Pepper Flank Steak was also incredibly savory, tender, and good. We paired everything with garlic string beans, white rice, and a great jumbo shrimp fried rice. I preferred water, while my husband had a few Diet Cokes. The food comes out hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor. PARKING: parking is convenient--there is street parking or you can use the two north and south lots within walking distance. The north lot is on Archer and Wentworth, and the south lot is on Cermak and Wentworth. Validated parking is permitted for a maximum of 3 hours, and you will only pay $3 with the validation. Just make sure to stay within that time limit and get it validated, because if you go over the 3 hours or forget the validation, you will have to pay the full price for the lot. PRICE: the pricing here is very reasonable for a Michelin-recognized restaurant. Our dinner came out to just under $146 total, which offers phenomenal value given the large portions and top-tier quality. If you are seeking high-quality, delicious Sichuan food in Chinatown that completely lives up to its multi-year Michelin status, and can be customized perfectly to your spice comfort, this is a great place to go. Highly recommend and will return with family!

Forcing an 18% gratuity after providing terrible service and mid food is unacceptable. The waitress took our order, and that was the last time any staff member checked in on us. For anything that we needed, we would need to walk up to their counter where they were all having conversation rather than being out on the floor at any given point. We did not like the service so I decided to not tip. When I signed the receipt, they (2 of them) immediately looked at the $0.00 tip and told me to come back. They showed me receipts of other people that had tip and said that other people tipped. "Cash tip or card," they followed up. I said I am not tipping because I did not like their service. Then, they said "But we brought out your food," as if that was some tip-deserving service as it is actually a responsibility. They expect mandatory tipping, even when their service was not deserving.

The ground pork and spicy savory sauce of mine paired nicely with the vegetables and scallions, and coated the noodles well. Service was fast and prices very reasonable especially when you consider how the prices of even simple bowls of ramen at other places have gradually gone up.

Like just about every place you can go in Chinatown, the premises appear slightly run-down, in that "we've been here for a hundred years, and you're coming here to eat, not ogle the architecture" way. Turned out not to be cheap-bill for 2 = $80 + change without any booze. But the quality of the food was over the top. Don't mind paying the freight, when the feed is worth it.

*sigh* Alright, so they have a vegan curry on their menu. It was pretty tasteless and I'm not sure why they don't have the option for coconut milk in it because that would be excellent. Soy milk? No thanks. So tonight I tried their Masaman Curry and Veggie Potstickers. Here's what happened. I'm giving this place 2 stars because of their REALLY FRIENDLY, super fast delivery guy. I see a lot of reviews have had slow delivery, but tonight they were half hour earlier than grubhub told me they'd be. That was great. Cut to me shoving a potsticker in my mouth and chewing and being like "huh... this seasoning is good, but... is that tofu crumbles? That's strange. " and then deciding to look inside the next one only to realize that is not crumbled tofu... it's chicken. Dead scrambly chicken for people who eat dead scrambly chicken, not vegans. For a restaurant that is vegan friendly, they don't pay much attention to keeping the meat out of it. If you are going to eat chicken potstickers, I'm sure you will like them. Grubhub gave me $5 free grub for that part. Yay Grubhub! So, as for the curry... Ridiculous. I understand it's a mixing of Indian and Thai, but if you put something on your menu, you should try to make it work. The only thing good about it was the potatoes. They were cooked like potatoes are supposed to be cooked. The sauce was alright, but the tofu was probably seitan or just really overcooked while the onions weren't cooked at all. And the peanuts were likely just tossed into the batch at the very end, so they were really crunchy and did not mesh with the other not-so-good tastes. The peanuts were a not-so-good taste of their own. I always feel bad giving poor reviews, but I just felt like they weren't even trying to care. And that's stupid. read more

I went to this place for the first time, and it wil be my last. I ordered appetizers and entrees and had to patiently wait what seemed to be forever for my food to arrive. The funny thing was all my food came out at once and the server even gave me the check before i even ate. The server never even brought my drink order (or even water). There was no one else in the restaurant and I think that the server was even the one who had to cook my order. Once my food was served we never saw the server until it was time to pay and when I paid him at the register he threw my change at me. I will never go back to this place again. The old Noodles Party had me fighting for my life trying to find flavor, but this new version? Redemption season. The place got a whole glow-up and actually feels like a cozy little spot in Thailand now. The menu changes weekly, the service was super friendly, and the papaya salad with crab absolutely carried the night. Tried Khao Soi for the first time as a shameful Laotian. The curry came in LOUD and aggressive like it pays the rent there, but somehow... I still kept eating it. My mom's soup was decent too, though the broth gave a tiny bit of "instant packet with confidence." Overall: good vibes, fair prices, and a massive upgrade from the old Noodles Party.
